    Barcelona to Cadaques right near the French border. This was about a 250 mile round trip on the Bonneville. The area around Cadaques (and Cadaques itself) is stunning! The roads are brilliant, there's a great choice of cafes, bars and restaurants and the weather is beautiful- even in late November!

    Hi Freddie. Thank you for this video as it is a trip down memory lane. My parents used to holiday there each year in the 1970’s and we often joined them there. Sadly my dad died while on holiday there around 1980. He loved the town so much that we left him there buried in the Protestant area of the cemetery overlooking Dali’s garden & Port Ligat. I must make a journey there again on my motorbike before it get too old to do it. Paul

      Ahhh Paul, both a sad and also uplifting story. What a stunningly special place to be buried🙂 I genuinely don’t think it’ll have changed too much since the 80s, so you may well feel like you’re going back to the 70s/80s.
      It’s riding heaven, and the scenery still unspoilt🙂

    So many reasons to copy your winter schedules. Especially as my missus is Portuguese.
    Perhaps the best time to go. Blissfully empty, sinewy ribbon of tarmac on an ideal bike.
    Just a great watch.

    I like the woolly jacket you wore under your bike jacket. I used to have something similar but with a hood. On one occasion, it transformed a cold France into somewhere warm, just like that, when I put it on under my outer shell. I like a lot of the background music in your videos. Stunning location.
    That Honda Scoopy looks so different to my woman's Scoopy 110, which is an out-and-out scooter, not half-scooter, half-motorbike. You'd like my Aerox 155. Really nippy.
    I remember someone overtaking me on a motorbike in Spain in '05 or '06. He was really caning it. I didn't try and keep up. I stopped for a quick coffee and then carried on. A few kilometers further on down the road, I came upon the wreckage of the rider's bike. He was being loaded into an ambulance, clearly dead. Better to ride like you do, Freddie.
    Another hugely enjoyable video.

    I like the 360 for the smooth and very stable - auto-stabilised - recording. I think you can set it for stable horizon too, most notable at the rear viewing forward but say for the recording off the tank when the bike leans, the horizon in the vid can stay relatively level but the bike can appear to move beneath - try it out. Thanks for sharing. Another tool in the toolbox!

      I wouldn't be surprised as the Balearics were held by the Fascists and I imagine could have been used as a base for raids into Catalonia. Might also be WWII fortifications as there was a chance the Allies would invade Spain once Italy and Germany had been dealt with. Many Republicans were aghast that the Allies were content to leave Spain under a Fascist dictatorship.

There is also still so much more to see around Costa Brava and Emporda, like the Medieval towns of Peratallada, Pals and Monells, or other coast one such as Tossa de Mar, with beautiful curvy roads in between them. You should also visit Girona and drive to Besalu and La Garrotxa, for roads in between Medieval architecture and old volcanoes. Feel free to reach out if anything!

    I would like to see Freddie to review the new British-made Maeving electric bikes,they look great.

    • @FreddieDobbs
      @FreddieDobbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll try and borrow on by the Spring- I agree, they look superb AND have an essential (in my eyes)- a removable battery. This is the only real workable way electric bikes can work for the masses at the moment (until the range increases gigantically or until electric charging stations are as common as petrol stations)

    I could smell the sea breeze and the pine trees……..olives need quite a bit of processing before you can eat them. And, just how does that camera get the distance from the subject. Great vid. Mr.F.D.

    Stunning town. Some of those glass fronted properties on the hill are for same for +€3m !!!

      I checked prices too- it seem €2mil+ is the norm. I saw one for €3.8mil😳

    That camera is tremendous, I definitely thought you had a radio tethered drone onto you. The fruit from the tree is deceiving. Great video of a gorgeous landscape.

      @FreddieDobbs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking that it can almost double as a drone- it’s a very impressive bit of kit! Really glad you enjoyed it🙂

    Wow Freddie the 360 must have changed considerably I had the previous model the Insta 2 and just sold it I could not get on with the thing and I lost hundreds of pounds because I bought the whole motorcycle kit with it never again on this brand .Dose this mean that Monica is now redundant Freddie surely not 😉 awesome views and a beautiful sea very nice looking from a grey cold wet climate " green with envy '' 🤢your certainly getting some good footage well done .👌👍

    Freddie how d you connect phone to bike to you? Bluetooth ear buds?

    • @FreddieDobbs
      @FreddieDobbs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used Bluetooth ear buds or and kind of cardo-style system. Although a lot of people tell me I really should give it a go

    Really good video. Dare I say, relaxing! 👍. In my opinion the Insta 360 has beaten the GoPro for the past couple of years. Agree that ease of use is so important. Appreciate it wasn't a technical review but perhaps in another video you'll be able to mention battery life, etc.

    Great vlog once again Freddie, good to see the lovely weather you have there, been a total washout here in South Wales for what seems like months.
    I like the X3 camera sections of your video but does this mean Monika will become redundant? Hopefully not.
    Ride safe both.

    Thanks for this one. It brought back happy memories of taking the children there back in the 90's. The area a few miles west around Begur is beautiful as well, lovely coves and beaches like Aiguablava etc, well worth going there if you get the opportunity.

    Another hugely enjoyable video Freddie, you have a great presenting style and are very watchable but the Monica 'touch' really lifts your vids above most others. Well done and thanks to the both of you, safe and fun travels 👍

    I am disappointed that you didn't make it to the Lighthouse, Teddy Freddy. If you have never driven further up the coast to cross into France by the coast road, do try it is well worth it.
