    Outstanding step by step instructions for someone that wants full delete with the stock look. As shown, it is so much easier when things are brand new. But none the less, new or old it still all the same in the end. Great job for an offroad truck...

    So you’re saying you can delete it all with leaving the egr intact? Only removal is dpf and egr actuator plunger? I have a 2020 tradesmen and wanting to do this.

      If the emissions systems are the same, I'd be comfortable doing it to my 2020 (if i had one). Just do some part number checking from a 2018 to the 2020 to be certain. The 2019 and newer have different tunes, so make sure you got that covered.

      Easy, it costs money for more parts and requires more work. You do you, if you want to chance any of the components activating when you can just unplug them have at it. Banks makes a great intake I hope to install one day with the rest of the delete.

  • @danielrotondo2294
    @danielrotondo2294 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im starting my install today. But first i got to go under and plug in all the electrical to the exhaust. So after the ultra turns things off, do you have to go back through and clear codes from everything that is unplugged from intake to exhaust.

    • @shaunvolkmann1904
      @shaunvolkmann1904  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's best to tune with no codes showing on the truck. Others have stated they pulled the battery cables and then didn't start it, only out it in accessorie mode to tune. Once tuned you can clear codes that develop, but you may have a hard time clearing them if they are there before the tune. Best of luck!

    • @shaunvolkmann1904
      @shaunvolkmann1904  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just did one with the full delete. You have to drain a gallon of coolant and it's time consuming. I'd say no, unless you plan in doing an intake horn, there really isn't a reason to bother. I have to say the Monster Banks intake and boost tubes are worth the time.

      The only wire I ran was to the ECU integration port, which is the four connector type. Did you get the optional exhaust temp wire? That goes to the exhaust manifold and plugs into the module, which I mounted under the dash. That requires some drilling and lots of precaution, otherwise you risk sending debris into your turbo.

      Hi, there's quite a bit shown. Do you mean the pressure differential sensor? If that is what you mean leaving it disconnected causes a fault code. That code causes the engine to lope like it has a big cam installed. Can't remember the code number, but it resolved itself when plugged back in even though that sensor is supposed to be not needed with the delete. After "someone" that lives with me (I'm not going to say any names STEPHANIE because that'd be rude) filled up the truck with some good ol' 87 octane I got a "few" codes.
    Exhaust filter 100% full was one.
    Then somethings about the DEF. I can't imagine that had to do with that though....
    and a couple others, I don't recall now.
    I began the research and found a DELETE is a better option.
    I've replaced the exhaust with straight pipe and will be disconnecting the EGR once I get my tuner in my hands but here is my question....
    Am I screwed by having the truck already exhaust replaced?

    • @shaunvolkmann1904
      @shaunvolkmann1904  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Douglas, yes the tuner uses and SD card to upload the firmware, this allows you to update the system display when they release new screens or features. The tuner automatically recognizes the VIN when you plug into the OBD. Each tuner can hold up to four VIN keys and tune all four trucks if you buy extra "Keys" for the SD card. The programming is pretty straight forward. I should do a video on the firmware updates, that's not so easy....

    Hi there Shaun, great video, another way to do it! So by unplugging the EGR connections and using your raceme ultra, your EGR is no longer functioning - then, exhaust gasses are no longer pumped in? Is that correct? So your oil is not black?
    I have a 2010 3500 Ram 6.7 TD Dually. I have been reading, asking around about Deletes. I am now seriously looking into this, not merely for MPG & HP, I just want to prolong the life of my engine. I now have 140,000 miles on mine.

      Yes, that is correct. Hard removal is recommended if you are out of warranty. Oil turns dark after about 3,000 miles, but not black when EGR is connected. The stock ECU runs the engine lean, and restricts timing for emissions. Drive one who has it deleted, the difference is unbelievable how much smoother it runs and pulls.

      @@jefflamb2900 The ceramic filter inside the OEM exhaust system would plug up, and you would destroy your engine. The very system you are disabling is what burns the soot off of the DPF honeycomb. It is this system that stiffles fuel economy and performance. You must remove the factory exhaust system. This may be the first video I have watched that someone deleted these systems and only removed the DPF. I did not know you did not have to actually remove the EGR and Cooler. Simply unplug them. Which I find interesting since the Cooler still has Gasses and coolant flowing through them? You should think that alone would cause problems? I saw the cooler still on your truck.
    How the truck running currently... Still no issues related to these parts still being on your truck?
    I looking into doing this delete on my 2012 Ram 5500 6.7 Flatbed Tow truck since Ive had to take the truck in to the dealer ONCE AGAIN for DEF related problem.

      why this turner I looked at there website and it says (For Aftermarket transmissions (Not for Aisin equipped trucks) Only for 2010-2017 PU models). Why not a EFI Live turner? Do you think this tuner would be a good choice for my usage? The turners are the one thing I am trying to get more info on. Since a lot of them State they are for race use only. Not sure if this is one of those things they just have to say or not.

    • @shaunvolkmann1904
      @shaunvolkmann1904  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Danaher the reason you unplug is to keep the valve and servo from opening keeping the parts from functioning. Once warranty is up I will remove them to make 100% sure they can't operate (and save space and weight under the hood).
      Truck runs great! No sure how your inspection process works.. so can't comment on what to do.

    • @shaunvolkmann1904
      @shaunvolkmann1904  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Danaher don't be afraid of race use only if you can control the parameters of the tune. If you crank to 600 hp you'll be rolling coal, and might get pulled over. That's only legal at the track. This tuner has tons of update support, and you choose how much power.
      Aisin trans can handle more power IMHO, the trans tuning is needed on the stock automatic to help make it last longer.
