I met all members of Velvet Revolver except for Slash when I was working at Burbank Airport (was called "Bob Hope" airport back then). The only one that wasn't really cool was Scott. Never got to meet Slash but all of my coworkers have said that he was always cool. Scott just seemed like a pouty, whining bitch; seemed like he was mad because he had to go through the same process as everybody else. That girl from the videos was with him and she was all over him but the vibe he gave was that he hated her guys and was only tolerating her presence. Almost like she was nothing more than a chaperone; hired by the rest of the band to keep him off drugs and on time. That's the vibe I got anyway.
What a coincidence that this video came out when I just started heavily listening to their two albums again. Their debut is an album which I appreciate more with every passing year. Although there isn't a single song that ends up being an absolute classic, man, do several songs came damn close! But they were right that the 2nd album needed to be even better than the first. It does include 'Last Fight' which, for my money, is the best song they ever made. 'For the Boys' and 'Gravedancer' is nice tracks too, but much of it feels very underwhelming and filler worthy.
Velvet Revolver was overhyped because three members were in GN’R, but blew over quick. The public caught on to that too. The first album did well, but the second bombed, and they broke up right after. Side note: They were an ‘all star’ band, not a ‘supergroup’. The term ‘supergroup’ got used too much in those days. An all-star band has famous members of other bands. A supergroup is a large scale band that has sold albums in the high millions and can fill stadiums globally.
Why anyone would say the Illusions are their favorite two albums of all time is baffling, especially when you could choose AFD. GnR would have been better served taking the best material from both albums and putting out just one.

Dave Kushner thinking Get Out The Door should be the lead single, tells you everything about why he was nothing before or after VR.
Yeh, cool story Slash
There's better terms for " big and complex" Rock songs, -
Tedious and self absorbed.
Lemmy - 'I don't know what that is but it isn't rock'
What a coincidence that this video came out when I just started heavily listening to their two albums again.
Their debut is an album which I appreciate more with every passing year. Although there isn't a single song that ends up being an absolute classic, man, do several songs came damn close! But they were right that the 2nd album needed to be even better than the first. It does include 'Last Fight' which, for my money, is the best song they ever made. 'For the Boys' and 'Gravedancer' is nice tracks too, but much of it feels very underwhelming and filler worthy.
Aside from their problems and inner workings, etc., the band was great and made great songs imo.
14 year old me loved VR 😅
exactly!
Can someone explain the random Metallica at 3:55?
I really enjoyed Slither, but most of the rest of Velvet Revolver passed by me without me noticing.
VR rocks🔥
Dude, Guns N Roses are so awesome, and I love stone temple pilots, but I’ve still never heard velvet revolver
Contraband sounds like GNR without Axl. They are my favorite quote supergroup.
They were great!
I loved velvet revolver.😢
I don’t have a problem with Eddie Trunk, actually a lot of the stuff he says makes sense
Any time I hear GnR as the favorite of anyone I realize they probably don't have much going on musically upstairs. Truth
Slash playing an ES-335, excellent!
never seen him play any semi-hollow body...just LP and the Mockingbird...cool indeed
This is chock full of opinions.
Why anyone would say the Illusions are their favorite two albums of all time is baffling, especially when you could choose AFD. GnR would have been better served taking the best material from both albums and putting out just one.
What's with Hoobastank in this channel?? 🤣
Its a name that's best forgotten
Hoobastank The Reason is on my top ten most hated song list
Get out the door was easily the best song on the 2nd album, written by Dave.
Yo can you cover the band Shift on the next one?
Velvet Revolver with Sebastion Bach would've been cool
Skid Roses !😂
M. Shadows whose band ripped Metallica pretty well. VR's first was good. The 2nd was a yawn. I saw a documentary about VR being put together. Duff and Slash should've been the guys putting the band together because they have the clout. Sorum was whining about having a singer that was known because of sales. I think he pushed for Weiland. I think if they went with a hungry singer they would've been good
Great first album
I must be hearing things. I think I just heard Nikki Sixx get "holier than thou" about ripping off another bands songs. 😂😂😂
Jealousy is an ugly thing!! It was a great moment in time n they won a freaking Grammy!!! hoobawho??? They're a one hit wonder wow axel?? Next. They didn't last long but they rocked the goddamn thing!!
Hoobastank are genuinely awful. That is a recognised fact
I think I liked and responded to this nearly-same comment on the Hoobastank video. 😂😂
I think so too but The Reason has over a billion plays on TH-cam Music alone. Haven’t checked the Spotify numbers. Obviously people like that song but I’ll never get it.
Yeah hoobastinky sucks. Really awful band the name the music the singers face it’s all bad
The hoobastank video is what sold the song.
@@lenaaustin6692 bad taste is what sold the song
Hoobastank, it’s BECAUSE YOU WERE TERRIBLE…fans don’t wanna hear that trash..I’d turn my back too
Not gonna lie, seeing Slash and Nikki together and fully lucid is kinda wholesome, given their history with "partying"
Yes. Use your Illusion 1 and 2 was some really good music. Maybe not 4 to the floor Rock, but their is some really good stuff on there. The Garden. Coma. Plus c'mon, as a 15 year old "get in the ring" was "killing in the name of" before KITNO.
