How to win clients on YouTube: The B2B Blueprint

  • In April 2023 I had 619 subscribers on TH-cam (After years of being on it)
My channel was a literal ghost town that produced 0 leads for my business
But later that same year, (2023) I was adding over 1,000 new subscribers per month, winning new clients (5 figure deals) directly from my TH-cam channel, and my videos were gaining traction by the day.
The transformation was so significant in such a short period of time it actually surprised me
This all came after looking in the mirror and realizing I needed to stop messing around and make some serious strategic shifts to my B2B TH-cam strategy
I had already been winning new business from LinkedIn and TikTok for years now, but those are a daily grind (Especially LinkedIn)
The crazy part about my TH-cam videos, is they're getting watched (And generating leads) MONTHS and even YEARS after I post them 🤯 (Without the daily grind of engaging with others content)
In order to get here though (And the fun is just beginning) I had to learn a TON about how to win on TH-cam as a B2B company without being a TH-camr.
Because that’s not what I set out to be, and am not that today (I’m a business owner) (Even though TH-cam now pays me to post videos there because I'm apart of the partner program 🤷‍♂️)
After all this started happening I thought, “I gotta make a video about this and share the insights and knowledge with my community”
    Always thinking about YOU 🫵❤️
So I made this video and broke it down into actionable items that any B2B company could follow. Here it is:
1.) Niche Down: The first step is defining your TH-cam channel's purpose. Ask yourself, "My TH-cam channel is the destination for all things _______." For me, it was video/social media marketing with a heavy focus on LinkedIn. You can’t just dump your webinars or podcast episodes, or long form videos there and hope your channel magically grows. It ain’t gonna happen. And I know because that's what I was doing prior to 2023!
2.) Do Your Research: The work actually starts BEFORE you make the video. Understand what your audience is searching for and what kind of content resonates with them. Utilize TH-cam's search predictions and analytics, talk to your customers, and consider using tools like vidIQ for deeper insights.
3.) Craft Compelling Thumbnails and Titles: Your thumbnails and titles are your first points of contact with potential viewers. They need to be irresistible! Aim for emotional thumbnails and logical yet concise titles. Remember, the goal is to make viewers feel compelled to click on your video. You don’t get this right, and it doesn’t matter how good your video is, no-one will ever see it!
4.) Deliver on Your Promise: Once a viewer clicks on your video, you gotta deliver on the promise made by your thumbnail and title. Engage them right from the start with a strong hook, keep them interested with well-structured content, and always aim to overdeliver.
5.) Repurpose and Distribute Your Content: Best way to grow your business while growing your channel is to repurpose it across platforms. From a single video, create micro clips for TH-cam Shorts, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc. You can also create newsletters, blog posts, and picture posts from this one video as well. This approach amplifies your reach and feeds into your overall content strategy.
6.) Stay Consistent Without Burning Out: Find a posting rhythm that works for you and stick to it. Consistency is everything, but so is sustainability. Don't burn out by trying to do too much too quickly. QUALITY trumps quantity on TH-cam.
Some other really important questions I also answer in this video:
👉How to end your TH-cam videos to drive more engagement and subscribers
👉How many videos you need to post (Long form and Shorts) to see real success
👉How to create TH-cam videos that get watched months, and even years after you create them

Fun fact made a second personal TH-cam channel for that old school industry 🤫. The purpose of it is to make long form content and then repurpose it to LinkedIn.
Between educating your clients for one minute a day can be very important and valuable. Why not make it fun too!
So been pushing some boundaries over the last couple months. Made several videos and post and did well, which is neat.
Getting recognized, building more connections, making a sick series coming up if approved that will be very valuable to our customers.
Started this pokemon channel when I did, because I felt the skills would translate into selling in the future!
    Thanks again!

Thoughts on listing out your "Chapters" for LFC episodes?

A key statement was made but i'll add a bit more to it.
"Hey this looks different". The idea here is, sure take note of the quality, keywords, etc.
Now while retaining that information, how can you make yours stand out? What will draw my eyes to your video?
My point is, when everything looks similar, by doing the same your only majing yours camouflaged and harder to spot instantly.
If you know you know. But what do i know, im just some random Crazy commenter?

Hard to make out what you just said there

      @AlexBSheridan I got you
For example if every thumbnail is a pretty woman with some words in a white font and a black transparent overlay.
Now we could create the same and it will work because the results show these results as the best from the search query.
Is ours easily found in the list if it similarly ranks? Does it stand out in some manner?
Most likely not. So what can be done to make it different enough to stand out like a light house at night but keep it similar enough to what is definitely working ?
      That's what I meant.
