Quite true! A person mistreating or uncaring of animals often demonstrate the same abusive behaviors to the closest people in their life. To the complete contrary, people compassionate and empathic to the pain of other beings show genuine caring and loving personalities in their everyday life. Oh, one thing I forgot to mention in the video is the vet already snipped off the dangling portion of Poki's tail, but Poki still needs surgery because of all the bone sticking out.
Before doing surgery the vet wants to let Poki eat up for a while so he can get back to a healthy weight and gain strength for the procedure, so his tail surgery won't be for a little while yet. But because Poki will be staying at the vet for two months he has plenty of time to rest and recover!
The vet is also holding off on shampooing Poki until he thinks Poki gets to a spot where it won't be insanely stressful and he feels a little more comfortable with everyone. I really trust our vet and their workers so I know they'll take good care of him!
I hope he can recover!!!

A bit late now however the vet was 100% correct not to do surgery just yet. He is a great vet, they are hard to find no matter where you live.

Its still happening
The fact that Poki was only 6 months old yet already had a broken leg and needed an amputation for part of his tail is scary. I never realised how young he was when you found him. I always thought he was a few years old when you found him. And is one of the reasons my cat is only allowed out on a lead in the garden and I take him on little walks. The world is bloody dangerous for a cat. Any injury that could've been avoided would make me feel like the worst. My cat was found on the streets as a starving little thing and is the worst hunter in the world so that explains the fact why he was so skinny. He also doesn't understand anything cat. And we had to teach him the stuff that his mother and siblings should've taught him e.g. bite force.
My cat Lazuli was also a stray! She had snuck into my parents garage, was filthy, she was just getting out of kitten phase, & was starving. My parents had initially took her in, but my Mum has allergies to pet dander & my sister has a Tiny House. So she ended up living with me.😊💞

It is from this channel that I learned how to introduce him to my kitty (still doing this), how to feed picky eaters, how to keep up with active kitties, how to read my cats' body language. I watched Poki's story unfold when I was a teenager. You've inspired me to do what I do today as an adult: we've (my husband and I) successfully fostered over 10 strays in the Philippines, and I someday hope to build our very own shelter. Keeping my fingers crossed Poki and Haku get along. I have a feeling Haku will mellow out some after he gets a friend to play and cuddle with. A lot of destructive and bully behaviors are caused by loneliness or boredom. Some cats just need a friend to be happy! Poki is a strong lil guy to have survived outside after being hurt, so I'm sure he can take whatever Haku throws at him. Best of luck and I'm looking forward to the update when you guys get back. I was thinking the same thing. My cat Cinnamon was a big bully too until he had someone to romp with because it let him get it out and burn some of that energy.

It says 165,450 Yen = 1457.42 USD, that's total cost including cat HOTEL. The hotel itself cost 120,000 Yen which is 1056.99 USD. So the vet only cost 400 USD.

My kitty got hit by a truck once and broke his foot and his hips. :( It was so sad! But he healed up all by himself in a couple of months and though his legs don't look as muscular as they once did, he can still climb trees, run and jump! I'm excited to see your cats recovery!
