ComicPOP Isn’t it weird that the guardians of the galaxy volume two film kind of borrows a similar concept from the earth X comics, as well as the infinity arc from the mainstream comics
2 things: 1. I feel like Grant Morrison would love this. "(Scottish accent) We all have the potential to be SuperGods if we just believe we can be!) 2. This story seems like it has SO MANY individual ideas that could make great stories. But, just because you can mix all your food together doesn't mean they will taste better (to clumsily assemble a metaphor.)
I need to bring to light the fact that Sal actually IS an evil twin or something, he’s legit had THE most consistent handsome bad guy beard+goatee combo
Earth X is such an awesome but confusing story, and it just gets even weirder and more awesome when it goes to Universe X and Paradise X. Marvel's never had a story quite as bizarre or as ridiculously amazing as this one.
Daredevil is awesome in this book, he just wants to die but he never can. I also love the mystery of his identity and how he finds it weird that everyone assumes he is somebody they knew when he could very well be just a random dude.
It seems like he was sort of an amalgamation of Daredevil and Ghost Rider. His motorcycle was VERY reminiscent of Ghost Rider's and there was always a lot of fire around him. Plus he would make an awesome tattoo.
I know it would probably will be too big of a stretch to think you guys will explain Universe X and Paradise X..........................yeah I know lol
I loved this series, it gave me backstory to characters I didn't know about and put it in context of this new story. The most eye opening part of the book is that superheroes are a defense mechanism to defend the celestial egg. For me it explained why we have so many superpowered people on earth. I still love it no matter what you say about it.
There's a lot of cool things about the format of this show, but when the camera zooms in on Ethan's face at 15:30, I absolutely lost it! Keep it up guys!
Finally got around to reading this. Favorite part was tubby middle-aged Peter Parker picking up a spider-man costume from a local store, then going out to do his thing. Fun story.
I bought this after I started getting into comics. it took me a year to finally read it and even then it took a while, the book was so dense. I loved how everything was so connected in the grander scale from the egg in the earth to super powered beings existing to protect it. Universe and Paradise X I enjoyed but I feel it ran it's course, like a sequel no one asked for but we ended up with a trilogy anyway. Plus I feel it all got ruined by the ending with Reed. Just read Earth X and you'll be fine not having read the other two.
there are some cool stuff in this book but is still insane jajajaja ok if you do a Q&A about this here is mine...¿what happens with the other cosmic entities besides celestials and galactus like lord chaos or the phoenix?
Wait, Franklin Richards can create universes. Maybe the Watcher wasn't lying about human evolution or he just didn't know that Franklin had the power to be a Celestial/Galactus.
Hey guys, what'd you think about making a special show of having one person "defend" the comic? It could be a special with one of the guys from the weekly pool!! It'd be really funny! Ben, Sal, Ethan, thanks for the show (if you do a X-Men book I hope you can get Rob)
i just got a reference to an earlier video xD when Sal says "what are you gonna do X-51? you ruined everything!" 37:22. hes doing the same voice as in Old Man Logan when one of the people tell Logan "what are you gonna do wolverine?" after the hulks kill his family ComicPOP!
Gods not existing without people to believe is actually a pretty common trope, Percy Jackson explores this concept in the book series and how peoples perceptions of the gods cause them to have split personalities like Zues is Juspiter but also not at the same time
great video guys! i have tried to read earth x almost three times, sal totally hit that one on the head. like i know how it began, and ended but the middle is completely stuffy. loved the updates all week from PAX on twitter, it was sweet feeling like i got a taste without being there.
The Watchers all say they don't interfere but they all really do. Just like the one who wanted to destroy Galactus while he was still in his embryonic state.
Wow.. This was the first comic i ever read. I'm really happy you guys are doing a back issues on it. Was so excited when i saw this in my youtube feed.
Dearest Abigail, One year has passed and I've given up hope that Sal and his friends will ever pronounce "Terrigen" correctly. At first it weighed heavy on the mind. Now, I have become numb to their ways. I am not sure I will return from this battle. Conditions are harsh. Please send money. Kindest regards, General Silver Montezuma Surfer
i remember when this came out and i was about years old and super into reading comic books , i got the first issue because of the cover and was hoping for another kingdom come, and it completely destroyed my faith in the marvel universe for about a year, i think untill grant morrison's new X-men might have to actually get this off comixology and finally read it
OMG this reminds me of a lot of modern marvel stuff like Hickmans FF, Thor being a woman, Loki god of stories(agent of sgard), the fucking terrigen bomb LOL
+Don Rubiono i'm glad i'm not the only one that feels that way (my favorite marvel comic anyway). it's not for the feeble minded. seeing a lot of people who had their brains all hurty after hearing the synopsis, let alone the actually read it.
They depict Jack Kirby as a god in Fantastic Four By Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo: Ultimate Collection - Book Three Collects Fantastic Four (1997) #503-513. Written by Mark Waid
Art by Mike Wieringo Howard Porter Paul Smith Spidey shows up in this one but context comes from volume 2, where Dr. Strange helps out at a point.
You said designed by Alex Ross and I crapped a little bit. Then I watched the episode and... can't say I'm really hot on the story. They had so much potential here!
I love the idea, but then they had to keep going into detail with the Watcher thing and that just made no sense. Just take the first part and boom great idea, and I think it does get put into the 616 Universe and that's why Galactus has never been able to just find someone like Franklin Richards and have him create Infinite Sustainable Energy.
If I remember correctly, Alicia Masters sculpted those Thing kids. Her mutation was the ability to bring life to her sculptures, and she used that to create children for her and Ben.
I had that Wizard Magazine with the Earth-X concept art. I thought it was gorgeous, but I hated it, because it made me rethink my SWEET '90s X-MEN COMICS.
Great video guys. Blackbolt should have been able to take out a few Celestials. His scream can destroy planets and rip holes in time/space. I think he was severely depowered ever since he fought Vulcan/Gabriel Summers.
On the heavy inks in this book;I feel that was such a mid to late 90's trend. I have a few Gambit issues from around that time that look like the inker knocked his inkwell all over the pages, so dang messy and dark and hard to fucking read.
Hmm you guys mentioned that this is like a religion. I've got a new idea, gonna start my own superhero/Marvel religion based on Earth X for a tax right off for next year! Haha great episode guys!
+Mago The Snowman maybe it's confusing to people with low intelligence. but i do agree on the religion part, if you think that religions are based on facts.
Not really, it's pretty clear. This book tells you abiut the celestials and the egg. You can also watch comicsexplained's videos on marvel history and cosmology which explains it pretty clearly :)
i like ben on these. he's like the cinemasins of tv little house. *ben reading spider-man comics* "carlie cooper isn't my wife in this panel" "page does not contain a lap dance" "JJ hates spider-man because he's a superhero? that's sexist"
I thought Alicia Masters became the new puppet. She had the ability to bring her scultures to life. Thats how she was able to have kids with Ben. The kids are just sculptures given life
Watching these back issues has made me go and pick up these books. I'm currently reading Kingdom Come, I have Siege, and Children's Crusade up next. Thanks Tv Little House for making me want to read these stories!
So was Frank Castle in this book anywhere? Cause I'm pretty sure he would've had something to say to young Red Skull for wearing his shirt, and great video as always!
Did not do justice to this unsung classic. So many ideas from Earth X were later recycled into mainstream Marvel continuity. Someday, Earth X it will get it's due.
You guys are awesome love this video and all the others you guys are the best. have you guys thought of diving into more of the insanity that is frank miller. I want you guys to do holy terror... its worst than the dark knight strikes again. At least that's what I've heard. I love it when you guys tear up bad comics I could watch it all day thanks guys
Jono 84 - And Red Skull having telepathy with Axis. And the celestial seed thing with Aaron’s Avengers run. It’s weird how much this book has inspired.
Also the Franklin Richards becoming Galactus idea, later in the main series Galactus states Several Times (and we actually see) that at the End of 616 Universe he and Franklin will be the last 2 Beings in existence then Merge to Become the Galactus of the Next Universe.
Wait… Franklin became Galactus because he believed he was and couldn’t be told he was Franklin because that would make him turn back into Franklin. So Franklin Galactus ate the egg? So the egg is gone? Why not tell Franklin he is Franklin after that? I mean the egg is gone, job is done, why not tell him then? That way the egg is gone, Franklin is back and then reed can go back in time and save both Sue and Johnny, go back to the present with them (thus not changing the time stream too much). Happy Ending!
Because he needs to go and eat eggs in other planets. They didn’t touch on it in the video, but the over population of celestials is what lead to the destruction of the universe OG Galactus was from. There needs to be someone keeping them in check. But at lest Fraklin-Galactus is a more compassionate planet eater.
My absolute favorite moment in this book is when Reed figures out that, to use Cerebro, all he has to do is literally stretch his brain bigger.
Yeah I should have mentioned that, if only to get Ethan's own brain to hurt a little.
TV Little House Comics Reason enough for the follow-up episode you mentioned in the video, as far as I'm concerned.
I mean, that's actually how Ultimate Mr. Fantastic works... and it makes him evil
ComicPOP Isn’t it weird that the guardians of the galaxy volume two film kind of borrows a similar concept from the earth X comics, as well as the infinity arc from the mainstream comics
ComicPOP Mutants, inhumans, Eternals and deviants. Honestly they are all metahumans.
2 things:
1. I feel like Grant Morrison would love this. "(Scottish accent) We all have the potential to be SuperGods if we just believe we can be!)
2. This story seems like it has SO MANY individual ideas that could make great stories. But, just because you can mix all your food together doesn't mean they will taste better (to clumsily assemble a metaphor.)
This seems like one of those stories where the history and the lore of that specific universe is more interesting than the actual story.
Especially Earth X! I fucking loved it's heavy ink style, and just the bizzare way everything turned out!
Universe and paradise X read like Jim Krueger and Alex Ross wrote down a fever dream
It’s so weird and wonderful
I’m surprised these titles are not X-Men focused.
+Shutty hes suppose to be deadpool
Yes, yes, I can see it now: Galactus is a good man and preserver of life, and the Norse gods reside in Asgard...And an AK-47 for Jesus!
13:59 it's theorised that daredevil in this universe is Deadpool, in disguise, hence never being able to die
OMG i can't believe you guys finally did Earth X. You guys rock. Thank you Sal and the TV Little HouseTeam
Thank YOU, Ronald!
I know it would probably will be too big of a stretch to think you guys will explain Universe X and Paradise X..........................yeah I know lol
No one ever wants to be Raspberryman. :(
Can you blame us? Most of the stuff he does is pretty seedy.
It's true. He's always scheming with the Jam Wonder.
Ben Baragona this pun is 2 years old and needs more acknowledgement
@@Scandal262 agreed
I loved this series, it gave me backstory to characters I didn't know about and put it in context of this new story. The most eye opening part of the book is that superheroes are a defense mechanism to defend the celestial egg. For me it explained why we have so many superpowered people on earth. I still love it no matter what you say about it.
When did it first come out? Because the whole "super heroes being the imune system of earth thing" is the key reveal to Planetary.
There's a lot of cool things about the format of this show, but when the camera zooms in on Ethan's face at 15:30, I absolutely lost it! Keep it up guys!
My favorite moment of this series is in the Spidey one-shot, where it subtly knocks down former marvel editor, Bob Harris.
The way you guys describe the awesomeness and the ridiculousness of comics is hilarious and highly entertaining, keep up the good work
This story sounds so convoluted yet I kind of love it 😁
Finally got around to reading this. Favorite part was tubby middle-aged Peter Parker picking up a spider-man costume from a local store, then going out to do his thing. Fun story.
Your guy's show is AMAZING!Here's a suggestion for a backissues episode...Marvel 1602?
Love it!
TV Little House Comics im surprised this AWSOME channel dosent have more subs!
I bought this after I started getting into comics. it took me a year to finally read it and even then it took a while, the book was so dense. This is the first story to have me torn. I can't decide if it's great or crap lol. Some really great and cool concepts thrown into this.
so instead of the witnesses of jehova knock in my door.... now i get to hear " hey do you have a moment to talk about celestials ?"
great job by the way :)
there are some cool stuff in this book but is still insane jajajaja ok if you do a Q&A about this here is mine...¿what happens with the other cosmic entities besides celestials and galactus like lord chaos or the phoenix?
Or it would be someone saying: "do you want to hear about our lord and savior Franklin Richards."

Ben, Sal, Ethan, thanks for the show
(if you do a X-Men book I hope you can get Rob)
i just got a reference to an earlier video xD when Sal says "what are you gonna do X-51? you ruined everything!" 37:22. hes doing the same voice as in Old Man Logan when one of the people tell Logan "what are you gonna do wolverine?" after the hulks kill his family ComicPOP!
Black Bolt yells "Franklin!", and Galactus (Franklin) felt urged to go to Earth
Gods not existing without people to believe is actually a pretty common trope, Percy Jackson explores this concept in the book series and how peoples perceptions of the gods cause them to have split personalities like Zues is Juspiter but also not at the same time
I didn't want another shout out hahaah. Assuming stuff and all. Everything is insane and i loved it and it was so dense and packed with story.
great video guys! i have tried to read earth x almost three times, sal totally hit that one on the head. like i know how it began, and ended but the middle is completely stuffy.
loved the updates all week from PAX on twitter, it was sweet feeling like i got a taste without being there.
i just read this 2 months after this video...and i really like earth x! yes is crazy but the good kind of crazy in my book... and good concepts too
The Watchers all say they don't interfere but they all really do. Just like the one who wanted to destroy Galactus while he was still in his embryonic state.
Sal: "... It falls apart" In reference to the Stand made me laugh/spit out some of my drink! Y'all are great!
Wow.. This was the first comic i ever read. I'm really happy you guys are doing a back issues on it. Was so excited when i saw this in my youtube feed.
Best superhero ever...MINT BERRY CRUNCH!!!!
New Back Issues! Best day of the week!
Love the Avengers Dissasembled Back Issues reference, thanks for the cool episode guys.
This is the first back issues where I haven't read the book in question. Gotta pay close attention!
oh yeeeah!! you guys were in my backyard and I didnt even notice!! Hope you didn't drive around in Boston, that place sucks!
Man you guys had come some day to La Mole comic con in Mexico! Kidding! Great video
Did someone say, "The Stand"?! A crazed man comes out of a basement! "Come eat chicken with me, beautiful! IT'S SO DARK!!!"
I appreciate it, when you guys take one for the team.
May The Gods Bless Your Souls.
Dearest Abigail,
One year has passed and I've given up hope that Sal and his friends will ever pronounce "Terrigen" correctly. At first it weighed heavy on the mind. Now, I have become numb to their ways.
I am not sure I will return from this battle. Conditions are harsh. Please send money.

Ok
Will H. Aww that's hilarious
Will H. Isn't it pronounced Terra-gee-an?
jonathan mortensen it's Tear-A-Gin
i remember when this came out and i was about years old and super into reading comic books , i got the first issue because of the cover and was hoping for another kingdom come, and it completely destroyed my faith in the marvel universe for about a year, i think untill grant morrison's new X-men

omarogd This story may have predicted the future
Loved this one, guys! Keep up the great work.
This the book that really took the Hilter youth thing to the limit.
someone should draw Ben as raspberry man now
Watching this reminded me of how great the TVLittleHouse opening graphic was! ComicPOP was a great rebranding but I miss that cool 5 second graphic.
I could watch Sal answer Ethan and Bens question for an half hour cause im usually confused as them
best comic ever
+Don Rubiono i'm glad i'm not the only one that feels that way (my favorite marvel comic anyway). it's not for the feeble minded. seeing a lot of people who had their brains all hurty after hearing the synopsis, let alone the actually read it.
+bevrosity yeah very underrated
It's probably the best thing Marvel ever published. It's so good.
so true

45:15. Ethan, we always have time for fat Spider-man.
coming from your discussion in jessica jones, the purple man from the show really reminds me of the red skull in this story...
You said designed by Alex Ross and I crapped a little bit. Then I watched the episode and... can't say I'm really hot on the story. They had so much potential here!
RIP John Paul Leon
When you explained the thing about the egg my mind exploded but then you continue to explain the story and my head hurt and I wanted to throw up.
glad i'm not the only one
I love the idea, but then they had to keep going into detail with the Watcher thing and that just made no sense. Just take the first part and boom great idea, and I think it does get put into the 616 Universe and that's why Galactus has never been able to just find someone like Franklin Richards and have him create Infinite Sustainable Energy.
So what Black Bolt's saying is " when everyone's super....no one is"
Daredevil in this story reminded me of deadman in DC
If I remember correctly, Alicia Masters sculpted those Thing kids. Her mutation was the ability to bring life to her sculptures, and she used that to create children for her and Ben.
Wow. If the Watcher was anymore useless he'd be DC Guardian.
I’d say he’s more useless, obscure character with no powers vs cosmic being who just chooses to be passive 🙄
+Marlon Reynolds he got blasted to death his only goal was to call galactus
Sounds like something Grant Morrison would do.
So excited for this Back Issues!
Hey, I'm reading this trade right now. I'll finish it tonight and watch you most likely lambaste it tomorrow.
yeah, that's pretty accurate
So basically galactus is the celestials natural predator.
Great vid guys keep up the great work
On the heavy inks in this book;I feel that was such a mid to late 90's trend. I have a few Gambit issues from around that time that look like the inker knocked his inkwell all over the pages, so dang messy and dark and hard to fucking read.
Yes! Buscema's Clone Saga inks were also a mess.
If Ben hated this story, don't have him read Paradise X!
Hmm you guys mentioned that this is like a religion. I've got a new idea, gonna start my own superhero/Marvel religion based on Earth X for a tax right off for next year! Haha great episode guys!
Marvel religion:
Even more confusing than Scientology.
You know that Daredevil is Deadpool right?
Épica saga que reconfigura todo el universo para seguir su camino
Would be almost impossible, (almost) to have celestials in their original size in the mcu.
Read Universe and Paradise X if you want to got insane, those books are wild
Jimmy Fallon, Joel Gertner and Jason Lee are reviewing comics now?
i like ben on these. he's like the cinemasins of tv little house.
*ben reading spider-man comics*
"carlie cooper isn't my wife in this panel"
"page does not contain a lap dance"
"JJ hates spider-man because he's a superhero? that's sexist"
I thought Alicia Masters became the new puppet. She had the ability to bring her scultures to life. Thats how she was able to have kids with Ben. The kids are just sculptures given life
coffee and back issues time!
anyone who trashes earth-x is just too feeble minded to understand it. it is a fully engrossing masterpiece.
+bevrosity man, i really came off as an elitist hipster there lol. oh well. i stand by what i said.
+bevrosity a full year later
maybe i was a bit harsh XD
Watching these back issues has made me go and pick up these books. I'm currently reading Kingdom Come, I have Siege, and Children's Crusade up next. Thanks Tv Little House for making me want to read these stories!

+Cameron Blackburn punisher is dead by the time the book starts
Punisher commits suicide after accidentally killing a family.
+Weaboo San wasn't he in Paradise X with the heaven thing? something about Wilson Fisk?
How did I just find this video!!!!!!!! I love Earth X keep it up guys!
you guys should also do the rest of the trilogy, it would be cool...
Love the show guys! You should totally do the blackest night soon
Amazing video as usual, how about you do armor wars.
Did not do justice to this unsung classic.
So many ideas from Earth X were later recycled into mainstream Marvel continuity.
Someday, Earth X it will get it's due.
This needs a remake for sure
I would like a bonus episode please
You guys are awesome love this video and all the others you guys are the best. have you guys thought of diving into more of the insanity that is frank miller. I want you guys to do holy terror... its worst than the dark knight strikes again. At least that's what I've heard. I love it when you guys tear up bad comics I could watch it all day thanks guys
So what up with the "Machine-Guy" Edit. Is it supposed to be like that and i'm just dumb? or what o.o.
You guys should do trouble (The Aunt May is Peter Parker's real mother storyline which is complete bullshit)
This was a great episode
Or have the Tribunal in part 2 of the infinity war event movie. Would be a major wtf moment in movies and so awesome at the same time.
Are you also going to do universe x the sequel and paradise x the sequel from that to do the whole earth x trilogy?
I tried to read this book, I got 100ish pages in and gave up. Thus I'm here to figure out what else happens. 👍
Well Damn. Marvel decided to just go with the Terrigen Bomb and female Thor ideas in main continuity lol.
3:30 so this is "my hero academia" done wrong.
This video made my head hurt.
Wait… Franklin became Galactus because he believed he was and couldn’t be told he was Franklin because that would make him turn back into Franklin. So Franklin Galactus ate the egg? So the egg is gone? Why not tell Franklin he is Franklin after that? I mean the egg is gone, job is done, why not tell him then?

good shit
Did anybody else notice the guys in the background around 10:30
