There's a good reason why we have started to phase out the Ultimax 100 SAW im the SAF😂 . In fact I have never seen beyond Ultimax 100 Gen 3. The most we toyed around is up to Gen 2 or 3 for most of us and learned it and used it for more than a decade of our adult lives. Seen melted Ultimax barrels after pushing a couplr of mag dumps, multiple feed jams on live ammunitions which locked up the entire bolt carrier group and thus rendering the charging handle inoperable to fix the jam...can't even eject out the magazine with unused ammunition inside during the multiple feed jam. Had to resort to a dangerous tactic of removing the butt stock to access the internals while a jammed magazine with 3/4 full mag and a jammed bolt carrier group which can fire off on full auto at any moment. Managed to fully extract the problematic bolt carrier group, live ammunition filled mags, remove the jam and not have the wepaon fire off a single round... On top of that the issued happened during squad live fires training for squad level leap frogging movement. Imagine if that jammed Ultimax were to had a discharge in full auto, the kind of friendly fire incident it could happen and the casualties it can create in a peace time training. The cheaply stamped AR-15 mags and stamped Ultimax weapon body creates a lot of quality issues to be desired. A lot of the home brewed vehicles like the Bionix 1 & 2 were paper APCs in the sense they dent and damage very easily. Just a small bump into a medium tree or concrete barrier is all you need to make a dent. Not so enthusiastic about these vehicles. The supposed air-tight NBRC protection with air-tight seals doesn't last and whenever it rains and we lower the hatches, water can still seep in... and the vehicles were just maintained a while ago. Essentially, didn't had good experiences using them.
Anti-drone is a must on every armor equipment. Wonder why no one has yet to produce small unit anti-aerial drone missile systems, man portable with missiles as small as say 30cm long with limited propellant, after all it need not go beyond engaging drone at 300m.
Nah .. the difference are armor personnel carrier APC , provides rapid transporting light infantry into war zone or flanking the enemy with its shed spread abilities but it’s thinner armor mades it venerable to heavy shelling even 7.76mm shells , however it’s lighter armor allows it to be transport with C130 and deploy to anywhere when required. Where infantry fighting vehicles IFV have better armor but slower speed is good for providing support fire power and pick up and off load fighting forces in the middle of battle field or taxi service and supporting the MBT is another important task for IFV too .
Hunter are not meant to replace terrex.. they're different vehicles used by different units. Hunters are used by Armoured Infantry, whereas Terrex are used by Motorised Infantry.
Generally I don’t think it makes the biggest difference for military use. I’ve seen several armies have both side drive or even central steering in their inventory.
Military ships, planes, and vehicles that cannot counter drones are ineffective. Drones will dominate the sky, sea, and land, rendering even commandos obsolete. The SAF urgently needs to completely revamp its defense strategies. Otherwise, the top echelon must be removed for jeopardizing our safety.
My qustion is will all these be effective during war it may be effective for NS man to train but when real war happen can It protect the people inside the Troop carrier now we got new fighting welfare like FPV drones, new tanks, mines, all these things are new fighting welfare in Ukraine war that now we can learn from if the infantry carrier have new protective system to FPV drones and mines

Exactly... elephant in the room question.

Terrex is APC, an armoured taxi. Hunter is IFV, supports the MBT.
