@@keaganfarms4400 who? There’s been multitudes of “religions”, most that predate mainstream Christianity, that follow the exact same story model. Just wondering which one you were referring to. Interesting when you see for yourself.
Going back about 40 years, we had a case 800 with a wide front end and a Diesel engine with a case o matic transmission. We used that tractor for everything. Plowing, planting, haying. Great little tractor!
Wow, this video takes me back to the 70's and 80's growing up on the farm. Our main tractors back then were a 706, 1086, and a Steiger Panther. Spent a lot of time in all 3 as a kid. thanks for the video and bringing back some memories.
What a great line up. I grew up around farms like yours in the 70’s and 80’s. Red row crops and lime green 4wds. When I saw a Panther in a farm yard I thought wow now they are farming. It was a great era.
Wow! Case 800! Ours is a 1959 LP Case o matic model. After years of constant use and a few in frames and a tranny slide shaft repair, it was semi retired. We moved back out here in 02 to help out and after 2004 when Daddy retired it was used just for about 7 acres of weed shredding and light plowing, scrap moving etc. The tranny got so loud I retired it and replaced it with a L4701 Kubota. For plowing the 800 was better. For weed cutting the Kubota with HST is better. Thanks for this episode!
I ran a 1486 in Ct. and also a 4586.. along with many Fords of all sizes and our Mudder which was a 4 wheel drive Case. dont remember the exact model, 5 speed hi/lo with 5' tall tires... it always ran hot as hell ..I really do miss the farm
Love old IH equipment. I grew up in the late 90s/early 00's, but my grandpa used 70s/80s IH equipment up until he retired from farming about 10 or so years ago.
Great video . We used a 1026 ih to plant the moved to a1456 and for working the field we went from a 1456 on a field cultivator up to a 4368 pulling a field cultivator . Thanks for showing a planter that used the markers . I remember a few fields with the planter couldn't use the markers because of a failure in a line or something & after the corn was ready for cultivation it was hard to find the right rows for skipping a few rows for the customer wanted
The hum of these working engines is the best sound! And the smell of that diesel I always like that too! Something about old IH tractors with white wheels I just love. I guess that's from my favorite IH the 1206.
Nice to see the oldies blowing the cobwebs out,the little Case looked as if it could turn on a dime!. The big Stieger sure was getting a good workout pulling that subsoiler in what looked to be quite hard and dry soil.
The farm I work for uses a John Deere 8120 with window tints and an 8 row 30" spaced John Deere 1750 planter to plant corn. They use a JD 9220 to pull a 48' JD 1060 field cultivator for seed bed preparation.
Feels like home, we have a 1066, 5288, farmall 300 utility and 400 heck we even have a kinze to match. Best of luck this year to a farm that seams so similar.
Yes the Steiger is pulling fairly hard, right on the limit and totally agree with your comment about the working speed of machinery shown on here, I reckon most of them are traveling way too fast, particularly ploughing because it throws the soil to far and creates ridges in the paddock. I've said it a heap of times, a lot of the tractors could come back a gear or in some cases 2 and let the implement being pulled do it's job. cheers from Adelaide, South Australia.
We do all our heavy work like disking, field cultivating & put anhydrous on with TW-35 ford with MFWD. All of our planting & spraying is done with a 4030 John Deere, we also have a ford 5000 for mowing & other light work
Wow, all of the tractors on that farm are in a realy nice shape, they look like brand new, although, they are up to 60 years old 😮. And the newest is around 40years.😊 Best regards from Germany
Happy Easter. Thanks for sharing the video. Good looking machinery. Still working and costing a lot less than the new equipment. I run red tractors. They will be there when the rest are in the junkyard. My opinion of course. Especially the earlier magnums. I always enjoy your content regardless what brand of equipment it is. That's the farmer in me and yes I grew up in the late 70's 80's era too. Remember scooping a lot of fertilizer in the planter. I still believe it was a good thing. Take care.
Love the straight piped red power on display, but a big hand for the operator running a 12ft cultimulcher between two vastly wider implements. I know they gave him time, but I felt pressure just watching this.
I remember those still being around WNY in the early 80’s. Do you think this one is a John Deere? I could not tell from the rust but it did not look like a Brillion frame.
@@bigtractorpower it looks like a Deere, tires and wheels on the outside always caught things, I ought to know. Halpin's sold Brillion also till I believe the late 60s
Happy Easter Jason! Love hearing that throttle crack on that 1086!!! 😍 The 5288 looks and sounds good too! Nothing wrong with the red dogs! Good reliable iron built to last. The old Case gas tractor was sharp too.
We use a John Deere 7320 tractor and John Deere 1755 corn planter to plant corn. And a challenger mt 665e tractor and John Deere 1590 drill to plant soybeans. We do no till on the corn and plant our soybeans into a vertical till pass from our salford 2200 from last fall.
JD 4640 pfwd and duals pulling JD 960 28' field cultivator. Brand new monosem 6 row 38" spacing on 4440 with duals. Finally got away from planting on beds. Wanted bigger planter. Couldn't afford it.
All of our tillage tractors are from the 70's and 80's. 4320 and 4450 JD, 1486 IH. Use a IH 490 disk, wilrich field cultivator and a Kewanee cultimulcher.
Happy Easter great video of love to know how farms that run all Old Iron like this compare to farms of similar size running new equipment as far as yields
It was awesome showing how hard that ripper pulled with the excessive wheel -slip, it looks like 40hp per shank is needed. Could you also give the field weighted spec and maximum pull data with your specs.
It definitely shows how hard the ground gets and why subsoiling helps open it up for the next crops roots. I do have full spec videos. This one was just to show how these tractirs all work together. I seriously doubt these tractors of today will be working this hard after 30-40 years
That is what they said 30-40 years ago as well 😂.
The sound of that 1086 when he throttles up is just awesome. Love it. Thanks Jason for sharing 👍
