I absolutely love you both and always look forwards to your words of wisdom! One of my favorite things my father, who is a pastor, has ever said in a message is, "Someone else's actions never gives you a pass to disobey God" - -We are always called to walk in love no matter what. Doesn't mean we get it right every single time or that we're doormats--but it means we're open to allowing God to show His love through us--and it first start's by allowing ourselves to be loved by God..and then we can't help but to let that love overflow into every interaction and conversation we have with others.
it's a learning process, but one that I have personally witnessed bring peace & harmony to what could have been chaotic situations--Especially in marriage. Great talk! You two are doing such a wonderful thing!

Lex, I completely agree with you about allowing Ocean to choose when he wants to get baptized. Our church does "baby dedications" instead.. So we got our daughter dedicated. Our pastor and the entire congregation prayed over her life, health, and walk with Christ. It was an amazing moment and I am looking forward to the day she chooses to get baptized!

It's so hard to forgive. Almost like I've completely given it up to God but then I realize I'm still holding on and it's like taking 3 steps forward 5 steps back. Thank you for all of your words of wisdom! I feel like I have a mini bible study each night with y'all!
Your words of wisdom in this vlog really hit home for me. I lost my best friend due to somethings that she did and refused to apologize for, and when I asked her for some time to forgive and put it behind us, she decided that wasn't good enough for her and so she unfriended me and ended our friendship. Then she was telling people (that knew the whole story) how I ditched her and I ended our friendship and all this stuff. I've have been trying to forget instead of forgive, and when you guys were talking today it hit me that whether she is sorry or not it's time to forgive her. Not for her, but for me. If anyone can please pray for me and ask God to help me forgive her I would be so thankful. I can't do it alone. Thank you.
Love your response on baptism. I made the decision to get baptized at 17 and it has been the best decision I could have ever made. It was a step of obedience and the beginning of my spiritual walk with my Heavenly Father. Hi Alexa and Carlos. Love watching you guys! Could you pray for my husband and I. Without going into too much details, just wanted to let you know we discovered I had a miscarriage. Our baby died at 8 weeks. We found out last Wednesday at my 12th week ultrasound. Anyways God has been good through this week. I'm at peace with what has happened. It's been a tough week, it hasn't been easy. But we're ready to move on. Whenever you are experiencing hardships, just know that God is always there for you. He will never leave or forsake you. Look to Him and He will give you peace.
I completely agree Alexa, churches don't define your relationship with God. That's between the individual and the almighty, & you couldn't have said it better. I love how you guys are so opened minded and happy. I was once so filled with anger because of what I grew up with & I let that anger go with God's help and I believe God showed me you guys through my journey to be strong & happy. I really am glad you two have eachother and your guys love for God. It's amazing to see two individuals so in love and also be working in an industry with your guys morals. I LOVED your descision about allowing your Son to decided for himself about getting baptized. I got baptized when I was 16 years old and I fully understood what I was doing at the moment and following Jesus Christ after accepting him.
One of my husband and I's mentors explained it perfectly to us about forgiveness and having those people in our lives. He told us we don't have to invite everyone to our "party"(life) if you need to distant yourself from someone you can meet them outside your and feed them a sandwich. It will meet the basic needs but will never be as fulfilling as inviting them to your feast. You reserve your "feast" for the special people who deserve to enjoy it with you. Hope this makes sense it's way more difficult to type than to say during a conversation. I love how real you guys are and look forward when you upload vlogs.
First, I pray every night for God to greatly bless you guys, for you guys bring such strong word and undertanding of what it is to be a true christain and release so much of what God wants that it fills me up with joy. Others are too afraid to speak out of Gods love while you guys open to the world with no remorse and no worries. A true inspiration to be a better person, Christian and a person in general. Second, that you guys have given me so much strength to move on and keep searching for christ even in a time when the world feels like its falling apart. To say things are badly is an understatement but you have given me such strong word that I feel like God speaks to me through you. It's like you guys give me more push to further my relationship with God. Third, is I request a prayer from every person willing for me and my family. In times like these it's easy to lose sight of what is really important. It's hard to believe that God doesn't abandon us and that we are put on path so we may never truly prosper but I trust in my God and I know that this isn't his doing and this is something put in front of me to test my faith but I trust in the lord and i will not lean on my own undertanding and let him take control of what I can not. Prayers are all I ask for.
I just wanted to say how incredibly inspiring you guys are. I have been a fan of vlogs for over 5 years and out of all the channels I've watched yours is by far my favorite. The sincerity and vulnerability you guys show in your videos is so powerful. That is so rare to find these days; people truly being themselves. I'm praying that all of your potential projects work out because you guys deserve the success!

I think that the words of wisdom that you guys had to say were so true. I've never had a relationship with my mother and like Carlos said, I've forgiven what she's done, but I will never forget what she's done. Thank you guys for being so honest and straightforward.

I just have to say, I tested up a bit when you got the call for your callback (which has already happened so ihope it went well) & said things started to turn around for you when you put focus into your vlogs. I truly see that as a reward from God for sharing your lives & being a light in this world (& to all those watching your vlogs). That really touched me.
Also, I'd like to put out a prayer request for anyone reading this. My husband hurt his back last week, & his doctor thinks he possibly ruptured a disc. He goes for an MRI next week, so prayers that everything comes back alright would be amazing. He's in the military so it really affects his job. I really appreciate it! ❤️

I'm a born and raised LA Girl and I LOVEEEE Palms! I've been going since I was little and I remember having my 10th birthday there and just recently celebrated my 20th! I will ALWAYS recommend the coconut soup and pad thai with fried tofu! One of my new favorites is the bbq beef with lime and garlic! ITS SO GOOD!
Also, I totally agree with church doesn't define your relationship with God! It doesn't make you a good Christian or bad Christian for not going. My family and I used to go to church, but we haven't quite found the right church. I've gone looking myself and it's hard but it's a process!

I completely understand what you're saying about loving someone from afar. I've got a similar situation with a couple family members. I used to worry myself sick (literally) trying to make things work with our relationship but I finally had to realize that I had to forgive, let it go and love them from afar.
I just found your vlogs and I have to say your channel is such a breath of fresh air here on TH-cam! I love that you're so open and willing to talk about your faith and relationship with God! So you most definitely gained a new subscriber! :) I'm currently nearing the end of my 6th month in my pregnancy and it hasn't been easy! This is my first and goodness has it been a doozy! You both are such amazing, uplifting, inspirational people. I've been going through some extremely dark months but watching your vlog and listening to your words of wisdom has truly helped me out. I can completely relate to the forgiving but not forgetting and taking care of your family and wanting to protect them. You are absolutely the brightest lights and little ocean is one lucky little man.
Your words really helped me and made me think clearer of my family.... Recently my father has left us to be with someone younger.. My mom, my siblings and I are heart broken. But my mom has changed so much from this uh "experience". Therefore she has been using us (her kids) to get my dad back... & this one day I got very angry at her and frustrated, because of how she's acting. And I have not spoken to her. It hurts me most of how my mom is acting about this, & yes I know that she's hurting, but she's using her kids to get my dad back or to hurt him. I don't know how to go about this hole thing. It breaking my heart into pieces I cry often. And I'm not the girl who has plenty of friends because of trust issues. My father I have always been close to but it's hard for me to understand why he's doing what he is doing. And your words of God and forgiveness have helped me.

I would like to ask for prayers for my grandpa. He just found out that he has a tumor on his kidney and the doctors think it could be cancer. They are recommending surgery but he has already gone through heart surgery and the doctors are doubtful his heart can handle another surgery. He is also an unbeliever so I would very much appreciate if you guys could pray that he will hear God reaching out to him and accept him into him life. Also pray that the doctors can find a way to get this tumor out of his body, that his heart be strong enough to handle it. Thank you so so much!! I agree, getting baptized is definitely a personal choice. I got baptized at 17, that is when I started my relationship with Christ. I think that it's awesome you guys are letting Ocean have that choice as well, because it truly is a personal choice, and something that is going to be between him + Christ . I also completely agree on how you said "going to church doesn't define you or your relationship with Christ". AMEN to that. I feel like going to church helps you with your relationship with Christ, but it doesn't define you. Going to church is important but sometimes different circumstances don't allow it. Plus I know from personal experience that watching a favorite sermon of mine or listening to my favorite worship songs gives me just as much spiritual growth + food as going to church does. The only difference is I get to experience that by myself vs with a group of people. I don't think it's wrong either way, there have been times in my life where I have had alot of things going on and making it to church every Sunday just wasn't possible, but that didn't take away from my relationship with Christ. I was always able to somehow make up for it, plus I truly believe God understands. I think if our motives are true, he sees our hearts, if we don't go to church because we don't want to, now that's a problem.

This isn't about religion. It's about a relationship with Christ. I don't believe that one religion is more right than the other... Some people believe in God in a different way, that doesn't make it wrong. I am not one to judge. What I know is, if you have a relationship with Christ..he will have a relationship with you. Religion is based off of customs and different traditions, while a relationship is personal and it's between you and Christ. That is two different things in my opinion.
Also you can't force someone to have a relationship with Christ. Because He isn't going to force himself into your life. He will wait for you to ask him in. That's the difference. You have to choose God yourself. Nobody can do it for you. Not your friends nor your parents. So I don't understand your comment. In the end of the day it will be HIS choice, and I'm sure his parents will want him to choose what they believe in. But that doesn't mean it's going to happen. As a Christian parent, everyone wants their child to have that good and strong relationship with Christ, but not everybody chooses that.
Okay, so they will influence him...but they aren't forcing him. In the end of the day, it's still his own personal choice.
When I was 17, I personally decided to follow Jesus Christ. Nobody forced me. Nobody put a gun to my head and my parents definitely didn't make me do it. I wanted to do it. I came to a conclusion in my life that I didn't want to live without Christ anymore, that without him life isn't worth it, and I truly wanted that personal relationship with him. But that is my journey. And nobody made me do it, I choose this for myself.
It's not like you had a choice to choose your name either. Our parents named us for a reason. If he really hates his name, one day he can change it. It's really not that big of a deal. I think that it's wrong to make fun of someone because of their name. Their name doesn't define who they are as a person. My name is "Inna" and it's Ukrainian. My parents named me and I love my name. I always get my name pronounced wrong and growing up I got made fun of, but guess what... I didn't care because I am who I am, and I am proud of where I came from.
I think you should leave it to them to choose THEIR child's name. This has nothing to do with any of us.
Plus girl your name sounds pretty unique too, so you really shouldn't be saying anything. lol

I must add tho. One thing I learned from my Spiritual Father: One must forgive AND forget, BUT not be dumb enough to fall into that mess or unhealthy relationship again. You love them, wholeheartedly and forgive them 100%. Like Alexa said, we need to guard our hearts and what flows out of it. Leave everything in Gods hands and He will take care of that relationship and maybe one day God will slowly mend it back together. :) once again... Only watching this video now cuz I'm binge watching to catch up but the words of wisdom got me a little emotional. I'm having a hard time forgiving my father for a lot of things and I don't really want to confront him and bring out all the hurt. But this helped me realise that I need to forgive him, even if it is only for my peace of mind, but I don't have to forget or let him back in. So thank you guys ❤️❤️
As a new sub, I have watched several of your vlogs and have enjoyed them tremendously esp when you share God's word in the mix. Alexa, sharing your wisdom in this vlog about baptism is on point. And while baptism is Ocean's decision to make, as a baby or young child, you & Carlos could choose to have him dedicated to the Lord. If you are familiar with the Bible story of Hannah & her baby Samuel, this reference is where baby dedications come from specifically 1 Samuel 1:28. As parents, that while we are thankful for the gift, we "lend" the gift back to God coveting His blessings upon the child to watch over him/her. Although I am many years your junior, watching your vlogs have been a blessing to me and in view of the comments, also to others.

Lex I am so with you on the people driving on their phones thing. This past weekend a young girl caused a FOUR car accident which I was involved in because she was on her phone. Really didn't have to happen!

Today's words of wisdom really hit home for me. I have had such a difficult time forging my own dad. But you guys made a great point, forgiving someone doesn't mean they get to come back into your life. You just have to learn to love them from a distance and not let them hinder your personal growth. It's crazy how much you guys remind me of my parents 😂 I think it's cause y'all share the same exact morals and everything y'all teach through vlogs/your life is what my parents have taught me. Even when Carlos talked about his mom, my dad's mom we have that same problem and we basically had to cut off my dad's side of the family, it hurts a lot but it's really comforting to hear that we're not the only ones going through things like that. I'm glad you opened up about your mom because my family and I really needed to hear that, it comforted me a lot
