Microwave for a minute, take the mug out and put a toothbrush in the mug for about 30 seconds, take out the toothbrush shake it off (to get rid of excess water)and lay it down face up. Then scrub the AirPods grill on the bristles and even tap on it so the bristles puncture the grill slightly to get wax out. Then give it two nice blows and leave face down to dry.

Been using earphones for over 20 years and never suffered from low volume. I clean them once a week which take a min or two and they never get to this stage. Also.. it does help to clean your ears every time you step out of the shower

Technically, ears clean itself... Just we keep putting stuff inside (qtip, earphones, ear plugs) that it can't have the wax naturally fall out with the debris collected. Overall; earbuds are a sewage blockage.
I mean the 3rd one tried and I'm guessing most of them don't even know how to clean their airpods so they just gave it to someone who actually knows how to do the cleaning

i cleaned my airpods for the first time in over a year and there was barely anything it them. i can’t imagine using one’s looking like this on a daily basis
This video is awesome. The sound on my AirPods was really quiet and unbalanced so I was thinking of buying new ones. I cleaned them using a low-budget technique based on the video (put a bit of hand sanitizer on the speaker, take a toothpick and run it along the mesh to dislodge the earwax, use a toothbrush to remove the sanitizer and removed wax, suck on the end to try to unblock the holes, repeat). It didn’t take long and the sound was totally fixed and balanced, they seemed brand new. If you’re having sound issues with your AirPods, try cleaning them before throwing them away!
I can’t believe someone would bring them in on that conditions. I’d be so mortified and embarrassed. Even if I was bringing them in for a check or cleaning I’d have to clean them myself first to avoid the embarrassment

This made me realize how I need to keep cleaning my ears plus my AirPods. I noticed my music was sounding muffled and ugly. I thought it was my ears so I have them a good deep clean but they were still sounding muffled with the music. I took a look at the AirPods and they looks very clean and couldn't see any earwax around the edges like in this video. Seeing the closeup of the holes in the AirPod mesh piece, I thought that the tiniest bits of earwax had been blocking those holes. I grabbed some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush and gave the AirPods a good clean. Once the AirPods were done drying, I put them in my ears again and music came blasting so loudly out of the AirPods. I lowered the volume and I realized I've been listening to music at about 70% volume (comfort level) and now they're lowered at 40% (comfort level).

Apple are really great at designing vents, grills and holes that clog up… the PowerBook/MacBook cooling fan, the lightning port/iPhone mic holes, the airpod mesh. They could’ve just designed a headphone that allowed standard rubber/foam replacement attachments, but nooo they just had to make something different, that doesn’t even work properly with a lot of peoples ear canal shapes.

Some of these customers clearly didn't even try to clean these themselves. Couldn't be bothered to wipe off the earwax that wasn't embedded deep inside the earbuds.
This is why I’m always hesitant when someone hand me one of their AirPods to listen to whatever they want to show me. I always can’t help but see if it’s nasty like the ones in this video.

My right AirPod wasn’t working for months now so I just had them lying around. I try and clean them with a few teeny tiny drops of hand sanitizer and a small paint brush, (what I had lying around), and nothing to lose and boom it works. Mind blown and very appreciative.

Just clean them once a week using a toothpick and qtip dipped in 90% alcohol. Then dab duck tap on the mesh really fast and lightly to get the remaining stuck earwax out it takes like 10 minutes max to do both. I don’t understand how people let it get that bad you could easily get an ear infection!
Yeah, I don't own airpods but I own Bluetooth ear buds that are knock offs. I didn't clean them and after a week my ears started to ache. I cleaned the ear buds and then my ears, and the ache went away! I clean them regularly now !

This is only possible if you're one of those people who never take off their airpods. Like legit not take them off. Only when you go to a shower or swim. It stays so long there that wax starts to form.
At least airpods are cleanable lol. Samsung galaxy buds... they have a cloth mesh that is impossible to clean hidden behind a metal mesh which you have to pry out to get to, and you have to essentially leave them without their cloth mesh in order to make them work again. It's actually funny. Traditional earphones never had this issue. Why then are Apple and Samsung having such problems with these redesigns?

The alcohol and brushing loosens the soiled wax from the mesh and the vacuum pulls out the loose debris, need to repeat if some of the debris did not loosen enough
Everytime I wake up or immediately after a shower I have to clean my ears. If I'm about to head out and put my earphones in, I rethink about the last little bit of ear wax I seen on a small edge and got grossed out. Now I will never forget this video

Use an old toothbrush a bowl full of warm water with a few drop of dish soap and scrub the earbuds with the speakers facing downwards so the water doesn’t get inside destroying them. Then get a napkin or cloth and tap your earbuds on it to knock out any water that might get into the speakers. I’d been doing this method and it always works perfectly.
Thats not true, shit just gets stuck in there even if your ears are clean, for example oils come out of your skin, it could also be dead skin cells in there.

I clean my wireless buds every few days by removing the rubber tip and using some santizer
I like to use hydrogen peroxide instead of alcohol. Works just as good.

i cleaned my airpods for the first time in over a year and there was barely anything it them. i can’t imagine using one’s looking like this on a daily basis
This video is awesome. The sound on my AirPods was really quiet and unbalanced so I was thinking of buying new ones. I cleaned them using a low-budget technique based on the video (put a bit of hand sanitizer on the speaker, take a toothpick and run it along the mesh to dislodge the earwax, use a toothbrush to remove the sanitizer and removed wax, suck on the end to try to unblock the holes, repeat). It didn’t take long and the sound was totally fixed and balanced, they seemed brand new. If you’re having sound issues with your AirPods, try cleaning them before throwing them away!

This made me realize how I need to keep cleaning my ears plus my AirPods. I noticed my music was sounding muffled and ugly. I thought it was my ears so I have them a good deep clean but they were still sounding muffled with the music. I took a look at the AirPods and they looks very clean and couldn't see any earwax around the edges like in this video. Seeing the closeup of the holes in the AirPod mesh piece, I thought that the tiniest bits of earwax had been blocking those holes. I grabbed some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush and gave the AirPods a good clean. Once the AirPods were done drying, I put them in my ears again and music came blasting so loudly out of the AirPods. I lowered the volume and I realized I've been listening to music at about 70% volume (comfort level) and now they're lowered at 40% (comfort level).

Apple are really great at designing vents, grills and holes that clog up… the PowerBook/MacBook cooling fan, the lightning port/iPhone mic holes, the airpod mesh. They could’ve just designed a headphone that allowed standard rubber/foam replacement attachments, but nooo they just had to make something different, that doesn’t even work properly with a lot of peoples ear canal shapes.

My right AirPod wasn’t working for months now so I just had them lying around. I try and clean them with a few teeny tiny drops of hand sanitizer and a small paint brush, (what I had lying around), and nothing to lose and boom it works. Mind blown and very appreciative.

Yes you are able to use Alcohol but I use the kind that has 1% water in it cuzzz while water damages electronics

Just clean them once a week using a toothpick and qtip dipped in 90% alcohol. Then dab duck tap on the mesh really fast and lightly to get the remaining stuck earwax out it takes like 10 minutes max to do both. I don’t understand how people let it get that bad you could easily get an ear infection!
Yeah, I don't own airpods but I own Bluetooth ear buds that are knock offs. I didn't clean them and after a week my ears started to ache. I cleaned the ear buds and then my ears, and the ache went away!

The alcohol and brushing loosens the soiled wax from the mesh and the vacuum pulls out the loose debris, need to repeat if some of the debris did not loosen enough

I use a needle to clean mine
Use an old toothbrush a bowl full of warm water with a few drop of dish soap and scrub the earbuds with the speakers facing downwards so the water doesn’t get inside destroying them. Then get a napkin or cloth and tap your earbuds on it to knock out any water that might get into the speakers. I’d been doing this method and it always works perfectly.
