    Your excitement says it all ... I've recently started LRF and i love it

      If you are using light enough gear the takes and rod knocks are amazing. Very addictive. 🎣

    The Ballan Wrasse was a Corkwing Wrasse, and the Goby was a Tompot Blenny. Glad to see a traditional angler so excited by LRF :)

      Thank you for the corrections, the mini species are far from my usual catch. Using the light kit and catching the smaller stuff gives the same interaction only scaled down, what’s not to love. 🎣

    Great fun video Mark' And that's what is all about, I really enjoyed this video... Its a fun fishing video.... 😊❤

      It made me feel like a kid again and proves it doesn’t have to all be about bigger and better. If you scale everything down the thrill is the same. 🎣

    Bravo. More of this Mark. It's a different branch of sea angling and superb way to bring youngsters into fishing and an interest in the wider marine environment. I'm sure there's thousands of us journeymen sea anglers that haven't much of a clue about these mini or juvenile species and what a great way to relax at a pier or jetty at the Great British Seaside. Cafe... .did someone mention a cafe 😂

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is already on my list of venues to return to before the summer crowds get too busy. Nice cooked breakfast and a few hours on the mini species before ending up chasing garfish under a float. There will be other videos similar but from different venues this year.

    Hello, Mark from across the pond! Just subscribed because I think you are the most unpretentious LRFer out there. I'm doing same here as you described and some online snobbies think I'm using bait is not LRF, like I care what they think. You sir proofs having fun fishing ALL that matters. Thumbs up!

      It is amazing for children as the bites come thick and fast with the variety of fish sparking their curiosity. And all of the above for me as well. 😗

    Mark, Poole Quay is good for small species too. Just drop a line over the quay and start catching.

      Small hooks for the small species but they were also float fishing for Garfish. Baits were suspended about 9’ below the float and a very slow retrieve.

      Alan, I may need some help with I.D’s. I’m rubbish at these.

    • @alanevans4232
      @alanevans4232 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seaangling Hi Mark, glad to help if I can, some simple I.D. tactics, a Blenny has a continuous dorsal fin, a Goby has a split Dorsal fin, A Tompot has "eyebrows" and a Tompot without "eyebrows " is a Shanny/Common Blenny, couldn't see what Gobies you had but, your Wrasse I.D was pretty good apart from the "female" sandy coloured one, that had a faint black spot (I think) on top by the tail fin and makes it a Goldsinny Wrasse. hope this helps. I shall PM you soon.

    • @alanevans4232
      @alanevans4232 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry Mark just had another look and, what I thought was a Goldsinny is in fact a Baillons Wrasse, my bad.
