@@isnagxz-for-fun2101 Game 6 of the 1975 World Series is the best World Series game ever and possibly the greatest baseball game ever. It was better than this one many reasons. One of which was the Red Sox were facing elimination after not having won a World Series since 1918. They led the game 3-0. Reds tied at at 3-3 in the 5th, then took a 5-3 lead in the 7th, added a run in the 8th, Bernie Carbo hit a pinch-hit 3 run HR in 8th to tie the game. In the bottom of the 9th, George Foster threw out Denny Doyle at the plate on a fly-out to left-field. It would have won the game for the Red Sox. Then it went to extra-innings. Dwight Evans made a running catch against the wall in the 11th with the go ahead runner on base, and then threw to first to double the runner off and end the inning. Then Carlton Fisk hit his famous game winner in the bottom of the 12th to send it to Game 7. Also, Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS was better than this one. Dozens of games were better than this one. I felt that way even before we found out the Astros were cheating the arses off during this series.
The Dodgers fought valiantly against a team that cheated "throughout the postseason" in 2017. The MLB determined, after interviewing Astros players and coaches, that the Astros cheated "throughout the Postseason" in 2017. This is stated under "Factual Findings" on page 3, para. 2 of the Report. img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/cglrhmlrwwbkacty27l7.pdf Even though the MLB confirmed that the Astros cheated throughout the Postseason in 2017, I wish they had disclosed how the signals were being transmitted. @@thegoldenmask5076 nah. If sign stealing actually makes a difference then teams that do it should be hitting over at least .400 with runners in scoring position. Is that the case? If not then your argument is flawed
Marquis De Sade no its not. Im a mets fan, they are not taking away the title. And even if they do, it doesnt matter. Houston fans wil still celebrate it
It’s so obvious now, but only because we know what to listen for. It’s subtle but almost every off speed pitch and change up you can hear some kind of auditory signal to the batter.
Do you even hear yourself? The signals are subtle, but the hitters are supposed to be able to hear them in an indoor stadium filled with 45k cheering fans? And not just hear them, but have the supreme confidence that those signals are in fact from their teammates or staff, not the fans, so that they can then effectively attack the pitch that they've allegedly stolen. If this is all true, I think we should perhaps congratulate the Astros on this amazing ability rather than condemning them. After all, sign stealing in and of itself is not cheating, merely the use of the center field camera to identify the signs is. "OMG there's a whistle before that pitch that got hammered, I know that there's no way that came from a fan, must be cheating." It's nothing more than pathetic, sad confirmation bias. Nevermind they were solidly better on the road in all hitting stats as a team that year where there's no evidence of them signalling stolen signs, and only mediocre at home.
1:58:20 Yuli Gurriel homers (2) on a fly ball to left field 2:16:22 Cody Bellinger homers (3) on a line drive to right field 2:45:52 Jose Altuve homers (7) on a fly ball to left center field 3:44:18 George Springer homers (4) on a fly ball to left field 3:50:12 Carlos Correa homers (5) on a fly ball to left field 4:28:52 Brian McCann homers (1) on a fly ball to right field 4:45:32 Yaisel Puig homers (3) on a line drive to left field

you can clearly hear the astros employing their trash can in tyhe fourth inning starting with Altuve's atbat. wear headphones. no bang = FB one bang = SL Two Bangs= CH
2:44:00 On the 2-2 Pitch listen to the whistle. Its very close by not deep in the stands. They always make a sound on off speed pitches. And its a slider away. Then you hear the whistle again on the 3-2 pitch he turns on as if he knows its coming lol. No whistle on the next 3-2 which means its a fastball and he leads up on it and it right on time.
I really think the Astros would have beat the Braves if they would have had Springer still he never struggles in the World series and he made that offense go gosh I miss him.
Yu Darvish, who has the highest strikeout rate in MLB history (!!) threw something like 60 offspeed pitches in his two starts and the swung and missed at ONE. It's not even baseball at that point.
That is a misconception that was reported. The Astros swung and missed Once in that game. Now before that is brushed off, look at Kershaw's great game vs the Astros 5-25-2021. He threw 81 pitches and there were only 4 swing and misses, by a, then, weaker hitting team. Not all that drastically different than 2017 WS gm 5. FACT.
@@romelovesdan No, it's very different, but you have to understand stats. In Game 5 of the WS, Kershaw threw 94 pitches in 4-2/3 innings because the Astros, knowing what pitches were coming, could sit back on all off-speed pitches and either lay off them or foul them off. In the 5-25-21 game, they didn't know what pitch was coming, so they were guessing and swinging at those off speed pitches, making contact earlier in counts. As a result, Kershaw only needed 81 pitches through 7-2/3, This actually supports the contention that the Astros knew which pitches were coming in Game 5.
@@44D33L Yes, since they knew whether an offspeed pitch is coming, they needed to foul off pitches near the zone and wait for the fastball in a hitters' count. It's a huge advantage. No need to prepare for various pitchers, no need to study films, no need to read scouting reports. It's a dull game.
Carlos Correa, 2017, OPS+ Home: 155 Road: 146 2017 xwOBA Home: 405 Road: 391 He was a bit better at home. The rest of the team as a whole were better on the road. Stop with the false narratives
That fact that the Dodgers pushed the game to extras and scored 12 runs despite the Astros cheating makes the Dodgers the best team in baseball, no doubt
I think i just debunked the charge whistle cheating thing. 2:44:54 The pitch before Jose Altuve's home run, there is a clear charge whistle heard, but it is an offspeed that he rips down the left field line foul. Then right after that, the charge whistle is heard again for the home run on a fastball. 95 mph FB, 87 mph offspeed. So, clearly the whistle is a fan
@@chansebunker7373 ya, thats what Manfred said. The ace of this generation, a surefire first ballot HOF'er (possibly unanimously) is also one of the biggest playoff disappointments ever and it just...I wish that wasn't the case, I wish his legacy would read differently but this start almost assured that it wouldn't until he wins a Championship. It's now 2019 and his physical prime is over. His fastball once sitting 93-97 now sits 89-92, his dominant hard slider that made him the best pitcher in baseball is no longer sits 88-91 with devastating bite...we can never turn back the clock but this was the game that will define him. He didn't need to pitch a shutout, heck he didn't even have to pitch particularly well...5 innings maybe 3-4 runs would have sufficed. This start was the last of Kershaw at his physical peak. This was his moment to cement his legacy and similar to Stephen Curry in game 7 2016 his legacy will be one of heart-wrenching failure but also one of unmatched brilliance. Heres hoping he can rewrite his legacy as he enters the back end of what has been an utterly dominant career.
Well, it's not 2021, and his legacy is secure. He was magnificent in 2020. He has his ring. The cheating in 2017 has been established, and this game is an embarrassment, not to Kershaw, but to the Astros. Kersh can hold his head high. Vindication for the guy.
You can’t blame this one World Series for ruining Kershaw’s legacy. For starters, this is the only time Kershaw ever faced the Astros in the postseason; the “Playoff Kershaw” joke is about all his postseason performances from 2013 till now. Second, even though Kershaw now has a ring, not every first-ballot Hall of Famer needs a World Series ring. Ken Griffey Jr and Ichiro Suzuki never even PLAYED in one.
The Astros cheating denied him any opportunity of winning fairly. Kershaw threw 51 off speed pitches and the Astros swung and missed at ZERO of them. Someone ran a computer sim, and the odds of that happening were 128,061 to 1. So it would take 4266 years and it MIGHT happen again. Just absurd - why even play the game.

The Dodgers fought valiantly against a team that cheated "throughout the postseason" in 2017. @@cavemanrissy4801 dude your just a astros fan ok they cheated its so clear

@@drbryant23 or you could just watch the game and see tired dodgers pitchers throwing meatball fastballs and getting them hammered

N he got robbed by cheaters. You left that part out
Well, it's not 2021, and his legacy is secure.
Y’all wanna know what else is weird when y’all keep swinging earlier on when the Astros keep hitting
