I gotta say, I really enjoyed Anissa's introduction into the Amazon Prime series, though I'm not really looking for "that" particular moment between her & Mark being adapted. Also, I was surprised that she was remodeled a bit in the show that she resembles Sasha Calle's Supergirl.
I feel Levy's hatred of our Mark is unjustified. Levy said that in most other dimensions Invincible helps Omni-Man take over the planet, but our Mark didn't. Sure, the transfer of memories of his other selves showed Levy what an evil Invincible could be like, but he knows our Invincible is a hero. If Levy is mad at Mark for stopping the memory transfer, as Mauler pointed out by taking of the helmet it caused all of his other selves to die (which Levy seemed to gloss over) & his brain to be deformed. Also, Levy was the 1 who decided to transfer 1,000 minds all at once instead of 1 at a time, so was his own carelessness that caused him to become a villain. Finally, I feel Levy should have teamed up with our Mark to learn more about why he opposed Omni-Man & the Viltrumite Empire since he knows most Marks teamed up with them. If Levy had discovered why our Mark was unique in wanting to protect the Earth he could find a way to stop the Viltrumite Empire here.
You both seemed really confused about Rex's hand if you remember he lost his original hand and it was replaced. It's the same tech they used on Donald.
@BrendelMank they also said something about him possibly awakening a new ability. The question about surviving a bullet to the head is a big one, though.
Fun fact: The scene where the seance dog writer is talking about saving time and cutting corners making the show, in the comics this scene is identical but he talks about how comic book artists reuse panels to fill space sometimes etc.
Also in the comic the creator is modeled after the first artist on Invincible Cory Walker while in the show he’s modeled after the primary artist for the comic Ryan Ottley
They said Anissa was FASTER than Nolan. Which means either she's especially speedy, or Nolan was holding back, and she's not trying as hard to hide how strong she is. Here's the thing. We KNOW Nolan was holding back. Considerably. Because if Nolan stops holding back, he can literally cause nuclear explosions with his own body. We SEE him not hold back against an entire race of aliens from another dimension. You know when he committed genocide against them and then dropped a mountain on them. Nolan if he wants can fly between planets and given enough time can fly between GALAXIES with no space ship or even oxygen supply. They literally show Anissa leaving orbit and flying out of the solar system, WITH NO SHIP. Viltrumites are next level. I don't think Anissa in particular is STRONGER than Nolan. We know she's stronger than MARK, and that's all she needed to be. Nolan seems especially tough, they sent THREE Viltrumites after him, and only one to check on Mark, without bothering to send her backup just in case, they're THAT unworried about Mark and Earth in general.
[Spoilers] Anissa IS stronger than early Nolan. People underplay her because of how strong Nolan grows to be after Earth but she is a formidable fighter. People don't remember that she is thousand of years older than him. She fought during the purge. She is in the top of the top, just not as strong as post-Prison Nolan, Mark, etc...
I think it’s mostly her size & the fact that Nolan was undercover for 20 ~ 22 years; Nolan’s a lot bigger and bulkier than she is and her being slim might help her move faster, but mostly like I said Nolan couldn’t act like a “real” viltrumite during his time on earth and had to hold back whenever he was in action whereas Anissa’s been going on mission and actively participating in the war. She probably pushes herself every day while Nolan was a bit rusty.
@@LadyLiberty-c8i I don't think, because this is not up to interpretation. She fought during the purge. Nolan was born after the purge. She IS older than Nolan.
What's crazy to me is that Anissa is voiced by the same actress that played Becca in the boys and flashes love interest in the 2nd season. It's crazy to hear her play such a role when I'm use to her playing the kindhearted character for so long
Cecil didn't give Donald half authorization, he was saying that Donald was using Cecil's password but Cecil is so good the password that people have stolen from Cecil is one that doesn't give full permission to the system, just the stuff he wants them to see. Cecil has 2 passwords, one he doesn't mind using in public where people might see it, and one he ACTUALLY keeps secret. Actually pretty smart way to do it.
You’d be right. Anissa is on the upper echelon of viltrum’s warriors. Remember that only the strongest warriors got to be viltrumite agents. I don’t think Thula Lucan or vidor were agents
It also matters WHERE the bullet hits. You hit the part of the brain that tells you to breath, you're probably not gonna be doin so hot. Rex's injuries were absolutely survivable, which I think is MORE terrifying than being able to say he's just super durable. Like that could HAPPEN, in real life, which adds on a layer of fucked up.
"Anissa is ruthless!" You two have no idea. Us comic readers are both looking forward to and terrified of how how the show will eventually handle THAT scene.
4:30 That's called "Leaning on the Fourth Wall". "Breaking the Fourth Wall" would be if they addressed or talked to the audience directly, like Deadpool and other such characters do.
Amber and Mark's breakup was genuinely touching to me. It shows that sometimes, understanding why your partner doesn't always stay by your side and that they have more important things to do doesn't mean their absence doesn't still hurt. Amber knows now that Mark being Invincible is important and she didn't stop him, but it didn't stop her or Mark feeling hurt every time they had to cut a date short or not have a date at all because of Mark's obligations. While it was bittersweet for them, they ended the relationship as maturely as they could.
They never should've gotten back together in the first place. Amber dumped Mark for "lying" about his identity, when the reason heroes do that, is to prevent EXACTLY what happens here. If hero's loved ones are known, they become targets. OH LOOK WHAT LEVY'S DOIN! Then she gives MARK a "second chance" not because she realized SHE was shitty, but because she realized Nolan lied to MARK and in her words "Now he knows what it's like to be lied to" so out of PITY she agreed to date him again. That's not a reason to get back together. They overcompensated this season in making Amber "understanding" to the superhero gig, but they never justified getting back together in the first place, so literally none of it matters. We're finally where we should've been this whole time. Mark and Amber are done and he can finally stop bending over backwards to please a girl that has never done anything for him. Even on the comic con date, she's completely unenthusiastic and then bitches that Mark's "ditching her". I think they tried making Amber likeable, but the well is way too poisoned and every moment she's on screen she's basically complaining about Mark anyway because "he's making her a liar". Once again, SHE'S perfection, it's all Mark's fault. They did the breakup scene really well, they really know how to write a good story and characters, but these two never should've gotten together. It'd hit a lot harder if they were a GOOD couple the superheroing is tearing apart, but they're not and they never were. They made Mark a total fucking simp for no reason and they've been beating him over the head calling him a shitty boyfriend since the beginning.
@@haku8135 Well said. The comic book handled the entire Amber / Mark relationship journey in a much more organic & believable style. Comic book Amber was a realistically flawed human being. She was not a shitty writer's attempt to make "the ideal strong Independent woman". The comics didn't constantly brow beat us with "Hey, Mark is a POS while Amber is perfection and righteous with her every move".
@@dunringill1747 Like the reason they got together the FIRST time, was because AMBER saw Mark leaving school with Eve ONE TIME, and she IMMEDIATELY got Mark's number from William and then blackmailed a guy into getting MARK to call HER and make the first move. From the very get go, she showed NO INTEREST in Mark, even though he showed clear interest in her, and she did not care until she believed Mark was losing interest in HER. This is clearly shown, but it is NEVER brought up at any point by any characters, as they're far too busy telling Mark how shitty he is. Also worth noting, DEBBIE had an excellent relationship with Nolan up until Mark got his powers, and several Guardians of the Globe had family lives of some sort as well. So it's not like it CAN'T work. Like there are plenty of people in real life that are super busy and still are married. Finding a work life balance is part of life, Mark being super busy saving the world vs running a business for example isn't that far off. Literally all Amber has ever done though is complain that Mark isn't around, she never once asks if SHE can do anything to help. Like not to say there's a good solution, this is NOT a very conducive to dating situation, ESPECIALLY after Chicago, but I'm just saying Amber never even ATTEMPTS to pull her own weight. It's all on Mark from the start, all she does is tell him to do things and then complain when he's late, and then in season 2 after she kicked him to the curb for saving her life and LYING TO HIS FACE ABOUT WHY SHE WAS DUMPING HIM, you know cause she HATES lying more than anything, she again just complains about how he's never around and now she's lying which she hates more than him not being around which she can handle which she is also lying about because him not being around is CLEARLY the main problem she has always had and she's just LYING about the lying part being the important thing. I haven't read the comics, but I'll bet the break up scene there is very similar to the scene here, except Amber in the comics actually makes sense as a real person, not a caricature of strong black wahmen, so when they wrote it originally it made sense and now it doesn't NOT make sense, but it's a lot more hollow due to Amber's lack of realism and flaws. In that scene she literally says "This isn't about being strong or courageous, I already know I'm both of those things. This is about me not feeling important enough around you." Like fuck's sake that line SCREAMS diversity hire.
Yeah, I thought it didn't help to leave out the second part where Mark asks what happens when they get all the resources. The way Anissa was describing Viltrumite rule didn't seem totally bad, they skipped the part where they are done with planets.
@@kayden2119 Yes, but it proves the masses are dumb enough to believe them. It’s irritating as hell, and I didn’t think that’d have to make it *clearer* that Viltrum was evil.
Man I just love the character writing in this series. I’m so used to the jerk/rival archetype portrayed in a way where trying to be less hostile is this painful chore that the protagonist always has to make more of an effort to fix… So having Rex already making the effort to be outwardly friendly and supportive towards Mark despite going through some intense issues of his own makes his redemption feel genuinely earned. This was just one example but I also love the way Debbie gets fleshed out and how Mark and Amber’s breakup was written this episode as well.
She didn't flex the blood off, she was moving SO fast then she just stopped INSTANTLY and the blood kept going, flying forward due to the momentum. That's a whole different kinda flex. Both her power AND the quality of that SUIT oh my gaaaawd look at that quality fabric, didn't even budge.
So here’s the thing with Anissa. She said soon another will come who wont be as merciful. Between her and whoever shes talking about, shes basically the GOOD cop
@@emmanuel4989man when the fight between invincible and conquest gets animated it’s gonna make season ones finale look tame and then the fight between battle beast and thragg will later make that fight look tame😂
48:04 "give him a break, please", interesting words. If you read the comics you know that they usually don't mind in give anyone a break, it intended to be a little more realistic in the superhero thing, the issues don't give time and specially what I think will be coming in the third season is a huge example of that
Ugh, here we go again. Rex surviving a bullet to the head always surprises people, but people survive gunshots to the head all the time, and Rex is actually a super soldier, he is enhanced. I don't know if y'all have been paying attention, but him taking hits from heavy hitters like Battle Beast, Monster Girl, Komodo Dragon, this octopus character, etc., so it's not unrealistic, as normal people survive gunshots to the head, and on top of that, he is a super soldier. And Rex got his hand bitten off by Komodo Dragon, that’s why he has this new hand.
Obviously he has his super power but where/when in the show do they mention him being a super soldier? I don't remember anything about him having enhanced physical characteristics beyond any normal person. Obviously these kind of animated shows tend to make human beings much more durable than in reality (like the last airbender and such). That being said surviving the gunshot to the head is 100% a thing people in real life have survived. It really depends on luck/damage to the brain but still it does happen.
The fact that, on a dime they managed to switch over Rex's character from unlikeable, and annoying to likeable, weirdly wholesome and actually funny is a great progression but makes me very worried about the future of his character. His VA actually kills it.
I gotta say, I really enjoyed Anissa's introduction into the Amazon Prime series, though I'm not really looking for "that" particular moment between her & Mark being adapted. Also, I was surprised that she was remodeled a bit in the show that she resembles Sasha Calle's Supergirl.
I honestly think this was one of the many better changes the show has done. Not that Mark being with Debbie in the comics is any less impactful, but I think for the point show Mark is at and the journey he's on, having Amber in Debbie's place instead is much more fitting narratively.
@@WolfWarrior623i dont read the comic but what does Mark being with Debbie means? Is he single and stay at home with his mom until Eve or Debbie and Amber name swapped? Im confused.
@@jakele734 no, it's just that rather than being on a date with Amber, in the comics he was out to lunch with his mom when Anissa showed up. So the situation was a bit different.
Everyone talking about Anissa, but the animation 4th wall break is pulled straight from the comics, except in the comics it was about drawing comics lol. Its a great meta joke that is taken further when its adapted from an actual scene in the comics too lmao
Just think about it, Mark couldn't do *anything* to Anissa, meanwhile Allen managed to *break* her nose. When Allen said to Mark last time that "he'd win" (if they fought) he really wasn't kidding
we are gonna find a way to stop them. hire the damn twins, clone mark, or nolan or anissa and give them the conciousness of mark, or donald. problem solved, anissa cant fight a million versions of herself that are willing to sacrifice themselves for earth.
This episode really makes you realize how important Donald is to Cecil and the GDA. Good men like Donald is what keeps the GDA from going too far into the grey zone until they reach the point of doing more harm than good. Cecil NEEDS people like that working for him to keep himself in check, so to him he really can’t afford to lose Donald to random deaths.
I genuinely believe Donald is more of a hero than most of the Guardians. He has literally sacrificed himself for others over and over again. No clones, no immortality. As far as he knows each time is final, yet he makes that decision every time.
(At 49:50) Did you forget his conversation with Mark last time? He said he would promise to look in on the Viltramite Prison, where Nolan was going to be executed in. And lo and behold, he already found the prison. So he's closer to find Nolan first, before going back to the Coalition of Planets.
I'm not convinced we've seen Nolan at his peak. I feel like even with the Guardians of the Globe he was conflicted enough to let his guard down a bit. 3 Viltrumites did less damage than the Guardians until Mark was in danger, and I don't think the Guardians would stand a chance. Nolan cares about Earth, and especially Mark and Debbie. I want a fight where Nolan finally gets to let loose on a Viltrumite far away from anyone he's protecting. That's probably the only time we'll see what he's REALLY capable of
The guardians fight was definitely Nolan at his peak The old guardians were just that strong. And technically the 3 viltrumites did better than the entire team despite the fact Nolan had help and they couldn’t jump him,
@paigeh7892 Half those losers couldn’t even fly, if Omni-Man was really trying against them he could just blow up the whole building and take out the survivors. He didn’t want to leave evidence that he was the perpetrator, otherwise he could have gone all out.
@@cthulhuwu_them Being in the building didn’t make them hard to kill. Red rush could still push anyone out the way. Nolan would have to come down to the ground and be punching distance to do any significant damage to people that can make him bleed and temporarily restrain him. He was going all out, they are just that good
Rex just got a prosthetic enhancement in conjunction with his Kinetic Charging. Rex has the power to create explosive energy which he can use in many ways. He can transmit this energy to objects and use them as explosive weapons.
Anissa... Whew this girl here... Kenny and Montana, cartoon watchers only..... Y'all will have a field day on Twitter when a certain moment gets adapted
I wonder if they'll even adapt it. But I don't doubt they might. Personally I think it'd be good to show, representing that sort of thing for a group who most people believe it can't happen to is necessary.
This guy that is trying to go on a date with Debby is kinda insane. Remember, the official story is that Nolan died. This guy is making a move on a widow 6 months after her husband's death. Have some decency, my guy.
Guys... it's his hand. The one that got bitten off. They replaced it with a prosthetic just like him and Mark were talking about last episode. They just happened to also put a laser in it.
9:28 Can I just point out that not only did Kenny forget Rex had his hand bitten clean off but even if he did then did not rationalize that his bitten off hand would most likely need a prosthetic which is where the cannon would come from, but instead thought that Rex can just magically grow mechanical parts from his organic flesh by the power of believing in himself?
We don’t really know the age difference between Anissa and Nolan she’s likely younger. Considering visually she doesn’t look as old as him. Anissa wasn’t ever shown to be alive during the purge. Unlike Thula and kreeg Spoiler Edit: The history is kinda of inconsistent in the comic, so we’ll see what happens when the show gets there. But she seems to have known argall, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s older than Nolan. As he only died after then purge, according to the final version Of the history
Rex's new hand cannon allows him to charge up and fire his internal explosive energy power through it. Judging by the damage it did to Octoman possibly focusing and magnifying the energy as well.
This episode took me back as I recalled a previous relationship. I haven’t really liked a lot of the Invincible romance plots up til now and I’d be lying if I didn’t get driven up the wall by Amber in season 1. But that breakup scene and the scenes leading up to it got me. I am the kind of guy who lives and breathes long distance relationships but I often really struggle with relationships up close. And seeing Amber and Mark come to terms with their differences and lack of ability to cross the differences. That was really well done. I found that out in a LOT more mean conditions than Mark did. And let’s make it better by having him go against Invincible’s most beloved character Anissa. Which I won’t deny by the way I REALLY enjoy what she offers the story and I am considering full context. So I’m looking forward to that. Also awesome fight as it just sets in that Mark maybe a strong viltrumite…but that doesn’t mean he’s anywhere NEAR the top of the latter. And the one she warned Mark of? GOD show only viewers will NOT be ready no matter how much they brace themselves.
I never read the comics so this is a blind guess. Anissa is so strong because she is in her prime age wise, and Nolan is a legend but he is past his prime. Also, why is Seth Rogan in EVERYTHING? He's not terrible as a voice actor but he doesn't have much range. He cannot play any character other than a loveable goofball. I agree, I would love a slice of life look on a world that the Viltrimites conquered. How good or bad is it? How different do they treat human-like people versus non-humanoid people.
We can see from the alternate earth in season 2 episode 1 that Mark and Omniman took over that it sucks. Anissa here is spewing obvious pro-imperialism jargon to bs Mark into joining her side. If she gave a crap about humans she wouldn't have introduced herself by threatening to murder one and everyone else around her. And she's one of the NICE ones.
"No Unopan is that strong." Man Viltrumites really embody the bully mentality don't they. Get super pissed at the idea that maybe they arent the strongest in the fight.
Guys there are multiple cases about people surviving a bullet to the head as long as it is not a vital spot. Also, Rex's body is enhanced to the point he is somewhat above super human conditions, so his body can endure a lot more than normal human standards. Also he lost his hand in episode 5. You guys need to remember these details.
Kind of a spoiler: Allen is a special case when it comes to his species. Unlike other Unopans, he was given the ability to both regenerate, and get physical stronger every time he recovers from near death. Making him functionally immortal, and potentially the best warrior. Reminds me of the Sayians from the Dragon Ball franchise. Which is ironic, because the Viltrumites have to same attitude and sense of hostility as them.
Also out of the 3 sent to Nolan, Mark fought against the one he had the best chance against it seems. She was agile and used a hair weapon. Against Lucan he was legitimately helpless, Lucan pushed him into rock with a finger effortlessly. He even seemed physically stronger than Nolan, until his gut was sliced open.
see the funny thing ive notice is most people are more convinced with Anissa, however there are things to remember, 1.) she is not related to Mark so she wont hold back 2.) they both Nolan and Anissa said the same thing to Mark to try and convince him yet people who react remember her saying it because people already didnt trust Nolan and finally 3.) Nolan lived on earth long enough to hold back considerably basically from how ive seen Nolan fight he tanks damage and increases his strength the more damage he takes
Anissa is shown to be very strong, but I think people are a bit quick to asume she could beat Nolan in a fight. Anissa might not have hit Mark as hard as she could, but we know Nolan held himself back a lot in his fight against Mark. The Empire send 3 viltrumites against Nolan not knowing Mark would even be there, and Mark only showed the level of about one of them in the fight, so Anissa (a single stronger viltrumite) was plenty vs Mark. If the Empire is spred thin, they would rather send one strong viltrumite than 3 weaker ones, if that would be enough. That could hint that Nolan is stronger than Anissa, since she was not send after him…. Long story short its still a bit unclear and Nolan is a beast. Love the reacts❤
my god the first time I saw this episode, i was screaming no repeatedly at my the tv second i realized it was Anissa. i read the comics while after watching season 1.
The thing that makes the Viltrumites a terrifying and well-written villain is that, even though it's hard to side with them, it's no *impossible* in a sense. They make a great argument, because technically what they say is true, and they offer a way to potentially do more good in the long run than bad, only that it takes some freedoms away (and ya, they still think any other being is beneath them, like we view most animals and pets.) They're terrifying because in real life, some would probably just listen and follow them, and become part of the propaganda. They aren't just straight chaotic-evil mindless beings. They make valid sense where you can't easily just argue against them. Even Mark was like "Well, ya, we are dumb and make mistakes that cost lives and well being." Imagine someone just coming out one day and saying "Hey, I can cure cancer and wish to prolong life and advance the human race...but I want to be the undispruted dictator of the country/world"
Bro you have seen it the alt universe at the start of episode one is a pretty good reason to think she's not being super truthful to mark in how earth will treated
She also literally came in threatening to kill a human and every other one around. She clearly doesn't actually value the lives of earthlings, and we have reason to believe she is a NICE Viltrumite.
That is not an honest comparison. What Anissa is talking about is RULING the Earth. What Mark and Nolan were doing in the alt universe was CONQUERING the Earth. There was still resistance, and Viltrumite rule demands uniform obedience. She's not lying, they're not gonna just nuke half the world for fun if the world SURRENDERS to them. Not that they'll kill NOBODY, she literally said they can punish their criminals. The deal with Viltrumites is Prosperity in exchange for no freedom. Their deal is "We will GIVE you all our incredible technology, eliminate every problem you've ever had. But you obey ABSOLUTELY, or else." That's what the Unopans went through, they were attacked, conquered, prospered, and then they rebelled to earn their freedom and nearly got wiped out. We haven't actually gotten to SEE a society properly ruled by Viltrumites yet, but everything we do know says they take ALL a planet's freedom in exchange for prosperity. Planets that like being able to make decisions, resist. Like Earth. The more Earth resists, the more people Mark and Nolan needed to make examples out of. They said multiple times "If you just stop fighting us, nobody else has to die."
In that dimension they chose to fight back. A Viltrumite would say that humanity "did that to themselves." Accepting Viltrumite rule could result in a very different outcome.
I mean that's a universe where humanity fought back. She's trying to get them to accept Viltrumite rule, to which their submission would definitely yield different results.
Have you guys never seen like, I Survived, or something? Getting shot in the head isn't always instantly fatal, you can survive, in some instances even with little loss in functionality. It just all depends on getting lucky where the bullet went.
I just want to say the cat getting scratches kept making me laugh when ever I noticed it. I would be watching the show than my eye would catch them and I would giggle. I am 40 but seeing cats make me a child
I wonder how things would've gone down had Mark agreed to get ready for the to be conquered. My thoughts are she could hear Cecil in his ear taking orders from him and had he done everything he said, she would've killed Mark
Nolan brought Debbie a tree... I guess you can say he was pining for her. On a side note, what I love about viltrumites is how still they always. There is a certain intimidation to how still they are.
Well i'm not gonna spoil anything but if u guys think she is one of the Top then just wait till the Big Man himself shows up.. it's gonna be epic.. you guys are cute tho!!
Hate to break it to you, but mark being a half viltrimite is not an advantage outside looking like a full viltrimite. They only want him on their side because viltrimites dont like killing each oher anymore. thats why they trying to recruit him. I dont think his human side makes him anyway superior to a full viltrimite. I think thats why the wanted to kill his brother, because he was blue and didnt look like them like humans do
@kylemma33 I've never read that anywhere so I think you're lying. Can you show evidence from the creator or comics showing how Mark is superior to a full viltrimite because he's half human
@@jaypey8253they're referencing a fan theory that human adrenaline gives mark an edge in combat, but it's just that, a theory. So they're not lying, likely just misinformed.
@epicmenace1303 so they basically lying for comments lol sad. It makes no sense for Mark to be stronger than a pure victimise because of his humanity. Makes sense to say he's been training harder, and pushing himself, not.becaue he human. Pretty sure viltrimites have adrenaline.
Get ready for season 3 because it's gonna be pure HEAT , it will instantly become the best out of the three seasons because from season 3 onwards this story rarely gets a low point and also remember what Anissa said that Killing Mark is not her task but soon another will come and if you still resist then this planet and you will suffer so that another Viltrumite is most likely coming next season and he is just insane , he's really going to bring out the Viltrumite in Mark. Really liking your reactions , also if possible do watch Kaiju No. 8 too , it's an anime and is one of the best that came out this year along with solo leveling , would like your reactions to it .
she's really not making a better argument than omni man though, "she's not saying they're animals we need to take care of them she's saying it saves lives", but why does it save lives? she clearly stated it was because they couldn't take care of themselves and needed to be taken care of, she's saying the exact same arguments, just wording them better to obscure the clear language of what she means we've also seen earth under viltrim rule through angstrom, it's not pretty
You get this from the comics, too - Donald is a goddamn hero. He put himself in harm's way again and again and again - THAT'S why Cecil can't let him go. You want a guy like that in your corner who will fight come Hell or high water.
Anissa isn’t necessarily stronger then the viltrumites that were sent for Nolan, they were there to kill Nolan but saw Mark there and we’re testing his power holding back against him.
This ep had me thinkin I was going crazy. Idk if it’s bcuz I watch enough anime and western animation is stiffer. But I instantly noticed the same background characters on repeat not moving. I couldn’t hear the dialogue lol.
i dont know why youre surprised that Mark isnt all that strong compared to other Viltrumites who've lived and fought for hundreds if not thousands of more years than he has
Anytime you see somebody with a mechanical part, do you automatically think they're half robot? Lol 🤣 Rex's hand got eaten so now he has a hand that can do much more thats it 😅
Y'all saying that she's being more convincing than nolan...except she's using all of the same selling points Nolan did, she just didn't have to deal with the baggage of murdering the GOG and freshly remurdering Immortal weighing on their arguments along side the frustration and exasperation Nolan was dealing with due to Mark being highly emotional over the betrayal

Nolan is also known as a great general and commander of his own unit of soilders. So it makes sense for them to send more viltrumites.
[Spoilers]
Anissa IS stronger than early Nolan.
@@gerardlacroix6015She is definitely not older than him. Why do you think that when she looks younger than him?

What's crazy to me is that Anissa is voiced by the same actress that played Becca in the boys and flashes love interest in the 2nd season. It's crazy to hear her play such a role when I'm use to her playing the kindhearted character for so long
I know her as Wraith from the game Apex Legends
Becca and Anissa are 2 very interesting polar opposites to act as.
Oh wow I didn't know that 😳 both characters are so different, especially with their vocal tonality so you'd never expect it
She's also in For All Mankind, great actress
Hold up she was also becca? That range is insane haha
Actually pretty smart way to do it.
people? nah probably just donald i think since they’re mad close
You’d be right. Anissa is on the upper echelon of viltrum’s warriors. Remember that only the strongest warriors got to be viltrumite agents. I don’t think Thula Lucan or vidor were agents
This is one of the most amazing, nuanced, compassionate break-ups I can recall seeing in a tv show.
man.
A bullet to the brain kills people usually because it bounces around the skull, Rex was shot point plank which meant the bullet went clean through
It also matters WHERE the bullet hits.

@@bentheshirt8681 Probably season 4
@@haku8135 100% agree
I'm Not Surprised Mark And Amber Broke Up, There Are Some Superhero Relationships Just Don't Work Out And This Is One Of Em.
This is about me not feeling important enough around you."
Like fuck's sake that line SCREAMS diversity hire.
Nolan was holding back for Mark. It may not look like it, but he was.
The Viltrumite Promise: we will take far longer to turn your planet into a husk than you will.

Okay not all the time, but yeah it's not unheard of.
@@SwordTune Actually more often than not. The term "double tap" exists for a reason.
Also, that's the arm he lost against Komodo Dragon. Since they had to give him a prosthetic arm anyways, it makes sense to give him an enhanced one.
11:20 Rex lost his hand with his battle with the lizard league and got an upgrade
Fun fact DA Sinclair was recast is new voice actor is Eric Bauza
The fact that, on a dime they managed to switch over Rex's character from unlikeable, and annoying to likeable, weirdly wholesome and actually funny is a great progression but makes me very worried about the future of his character. His VA actually kills it.
At this point in the story at Mark's age he is like a toddler in Viltrumite terms. That was like an MMA fighter vs a small child.
I gotta say, I really enjoyed Anissa's introduction into the Amazon Prime series, though I'm not really looking for "that" particular moment between her & Mark being adapted. Also, I was surprised that she was remodeled a bit in the show that she resembles Sasha Calle's Supergirl.
Just like amber but it fits pretty well just like rudy and rex
I honestly think this was one of the many better changes the show has done. Not that Mark being with Debbie in the comics is any less impactful, but I think for the point show Mark is at and the journey he's on, having Amber in Debbie's place instead is much more fitting narratively.
@@WolfWarrior623i dont read the comic but what does Mark being with Debbie means? Is he single and stay at home with his mom until Eve or Debbie and Amber name swapped? Im confused.

we are gonna find a way to stop them.
hire the damn twins, clone mark, or nolan or anissa and give them the conciousness of mark, or donald. problem solved, anissa cant fight a million versions of herself that are willing to sacrifice themselves for earth.

That's probably the only time we'll see what he's REALLY capable of
The guardians fight was definitely Nolan at his peak
The old guardians were just that strong. And technically the 3 viltrumites did better than the entire team despite the fact Nolan had help and they couldn’t jump him,

Viltrumites get stronger the older they get
"No Unopan is that strong." Man Viltrumites really embody the bully mentality don't they.
You got to ponder how big the cruise industry would be, in a world where kaijus exist.
Montana Genius Counter: +1
He even seemed physically stronger than Nolan, until his gut was sliced open.
cant wait for conquest bro
see the funny thing ive notice is most people are more convinced with Anissa, however there are things to remember, 1.) she is not related to Mark so she wont hold back 2.) they both Nolan and Anissa said the same thing to Mark to try and convince him yet people who react remember her saying it because people already didnt trust Nolan and finally 3.) Nolan lived on earth long enough to hold back considerably basically from how ive seen Nolan fight he tanks damage and increases his strength the more damage he takes

I LOVE your theories and i cant WAIT for you to see where this series is going!
The thing that makes the Viltrumites a terrifying and well-written villain is that, even though it's hard to side with them, it's no *impossible* in a sense. They make a great argument, because technically what they say is true, and they offer a way to potentially do more good in the long run than bad, only that it takes some freedoms away (and ya, they still think any other being is beneath them, like we view most animals and pets.)
They're terrifying because in real life, some would probably just listen and follow them, and become part of the propaganda.
But you obey ABSOLUTELY, or else."
That's what the Unopans went through, they were attacked, conquered, prospered, and then they rebelled to earn their freedom and nearly got wiped out.
@@DerekRawlings They killed off half their kind for being weak man. How do you think they would treat the "lesser races"?

No it doesn't @@kylemma33
Pretty sure viltrimites have adrenaline.
well, holy shit, not to spoilt it lol but your wife was exactly right in her prediction towards the end. Kudos to her!!!
the kitty back during the college scene is so cute I'm gonna blow up
Mark getting the Peter Parker treatment
SPOILERS!
But at 43:45, she was spot on!
she's really not making a better argument than omni man though, "she's not saying they're animals we need to take care of them she's saying it saves lives", but why does it save lives? she clearly stated it was because they couldn't take care of themselves and needed to be taken care of, she's saying the exact same arguments, just wording them better to obscure the clear language of what she means
we've also seen earth under viltrim rule through angstrom, it's not pretty
(At 11:42) anyone else think THIS is starting to become an "obsession" to Rudolph?
You get this from the comics, too - Donald is a goddamn hero. He put himself in harm's way again and again and again - THAT'S why Cecil can't let him go. You want a guy like that in your corner who will fight come Hell or high water.
Anissa isn’t necessarily stronger then the viltrumites that were sent for Nolan, they were there to kill Nolan but saw Mark there and we’re testing his power holding back against him.
Yep , a clear indication of that was when Mark stopped holding back against Thula and was able to fight better and Thula said " finally "
I don't know if I'd go on vacations in this world. Maybe only vacation in big open areas not near anything in particular...
Anissa is very cool.
Evidently, Allen is to Viltrumites what Doomsday is to Superman.
Lol 🤣 Rex's hand got eaten so now he has a hand that can do much more thats it 😅
now she wants to act like the victim when Mark was trying to keep her from getting hurt in the beginning and she told him fly away flyboy. smh
