    I always enjoy your content, and thank you for sharing your projects. This one I will be using as I'm converting NiCaD powered appliances to LiFe. Lithium batteries are an interesting retro fit. So far.....no fires 😄
    Cheers

    Try Active Balance using mosfet switching and ferrite transformer.

    can you put the design link ito the description? Will you make boards available on pcbway projects?

    Why not use ziner diodes and thyristor instead of mosfets so when cell is fully charge the ziner activate and turn of the thyristor and activate when voltage drop on cell to turn

      Zeners are known to be very inaccurate. He talked about TL431 as an option too, but that would require many more biasing components.

      Because once the thyristor is triggered it will stay on until the current from the battery voltage drops to zero, then your battery is destroyed....

      Standard Zener voltage tolerance is ± 5 %. For instance, a Vishay PTV 3.9B is rated for 3.9V min, 4.2V nominal and 4.4V max. Kasyan's board is much more accurate.

      @@lezbriddon not for my circuit design I use a optocoupler to the 3.5v ziner to turn on and 4v to turn off its simple and works

    • @lezbriddon
      @lezbriddon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dc_tech386 my answer was about thyristors, once they turn on and pass current you can not turn them off, this is a fact and it's what they are designed to do, to stay locked on until current reaches zero. Maybe you tried to the setting person or something because it doesn't matter what you connect to a thyristor you can't change the way it works.
