I used to sing this song to my first long term partner. She brought our son into world but tragically she died 5 years later. This was the last song played at her funeral. Hands down the saddest day of my entire life. Every now and then I come back to this beautiful song and think of her and times we shared. Life is a truly incredible experience.. both the good and bad. I'm grateful for both of those extremes, because as much as its hurts to look back and remember.. It does remind me that I was lucky enough to experience something as precious as the love expressed within this song.

I just heard a young man sing this at his mother's homecoming and this young came extremely close to Donny singing it . OMG I'm a let it go here but that young man did something remarkable and that's one of the only times I give props to someone singing their version of someone else's song . That was a masterpiece and I'm sure Donnie would approve.

Fell back in love with this song after hearing it again on Euphoria. After seeing that show, I realized there was a reason the song was put in there. Donny was a guy with issues just like Rue and all the others in the show. This song really held deep with Donny cause it described who he was as a person and what he wants to say to everyone he loved, his fans included. I know that sounds too deep but it’s just what I feel. Love you Donny and I hope you realize that we’re singing this song for you.....

Few hours before donny has been killed (suicide), he said that at the studio while he was recording a new album, that people were trying to killed him and that they connected his brain to a connected machine to stole his creativity ( from god sources).... in 1979 it could have been seem crazy like talking about cellular phone, but nowadays and in a near future this make and will make even more sense...
