hello there IMO the launch will be after the wipe because in the announcement its is very important info to notice that they said they will be taking down the servers for wipe ( AND UPGRADE ) if youre a tech like me this automaticly says that the wipe ( AND ) upgrade can take a couple days because you have to upgrade the server hardware - software - ( i guess theyre running a server O/S that needs to be serviced as well ) putting this in brackets for people to not forget this one and in the end install the new version of SE with up to date software to run the new update .... this can meant they start it up and it crashes down in flames on startup ( every tech knows that dread feeling when you start a new server fingers crossed ) so IMO update will be on the 14th this will give 4 work days to hotfix any problems ( assuming launch is going well with no major issues ) and not long after keen will go festive with the 11th year of the company birthday after the showcase ( post update ) with xocliw and CEO of keen on the 30th pretty much falls all into place if you think about it BUT this is my opinions they might launch on the 7th and server will be taken down after for upgrade/maintenance that is another likely scenario just ... less likely :) hype is real and good for SE fans cheers
It's all speculation. However, in the post where they announced the wipe date, the mention of keeping them offline and upgrades isn't there unless I am missing it somewhere (possible). "From Tuesday, October 8, all official servers will undergo a full wipe to ensure smooth performance and apply the latest changes. This means all progress on these servers will be reset." It's good for them that they are doing upgrades, though. When we push the new map, we will do the same so that you might be right!
@@gamerelite3989 I would have been inclined to agree, but on yesterdays live stream Xocliw said they have changed their update days to Mondays. Which only leaves the 7th, 14th, 21st or 28th.

At this point all of you are saying next week or the week after are the likely days so for some one like me who works 6 days a week time will pass faster so one -> two weeks im ready to go.
Another member mentioned they might bring the keen servers down and update for a few days before relaunching them, so the 14th would then make sense. Just a long time to have your official servers down, but who really knows.
@@StoneIndustriesGaming based solely on some ‘cryptic non-comments’ from SE streamers I watch, I suspect the plan is to take the servers down for the update, wipe them, and run some extended, multi-day testing with a select sub-set of the community (probably those known for pushing certain aspects to their limits on a regular basis) in order to shake out any last-minute bugs/issues that didn’t turn up in testing. Just a guess, though.
We can always think about setting up prototech as prosonic tier perofrmace wise to let people have an in between way to upgrade if the normal route is to exaustive for them 🙂looking forward to the wipe and update
If they're like any other component in the game, we can add them to the containers on the Roach Ships. I am not too worried; it just won't be a day-one thing, as I am sure we will be busy putting out fires.
In the video, we discussed ways players could enjoy the content. Even if we did do a full wipe, our shields, weapons, and already existing tiered tech system is far superior in stats to the encounters and stats of prototech blocks. This update is very much for vanilla game play or servers that really only offer QoL mods to their communities. We will be working on way to incorporate this into our Universe and even expand upon it (also discussed in the video). Hope that helps clear things up.

It makes no sense to wipe after the update, and iirc xocliw said the update will come out on a Monday, meaning it’s going to most likely be the 14th

Everone will need a fresh wipe for this one. Stone industrys will DEF require a fresh wipe, there map is like 4+ Years old..

When they announced that they were going to scrub their servers on the 8th I knew it can't be to soon after that.

This is exciting a new system update and a new dlc though i haven't been playing se for long its a great game and it's fun to play.
Would be interesting to see how SI retrofits this into the server as we already have faction tech so just be more of that which I am all for.
I think the unique way they made it obtainable is something to play with and learn from. The forcing of merge blocks while not idle is cool.
