    My Grandfather who lived in le Hocq knew that area inside out , when he went out in his dory he sometimes on certain tides said he was going to the magic roundabout at the back of the tower , always came back with a lot of big bass

    Many years ago, I walked from Icho Tower to la Rocque, fortunately it was a very low tide. Nuff said!

    • @FISHISLANDTV
      @FISHISLANDTV  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have never done the walk myself although I have heard it’s very interesting seeing all the marine life left in the rock pools between the two places.
      Perhaps I should give it a go one day!
      Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!

      @@FISHISLANDTV I had to get a move on because I know how fast the tide comes in, having fished Grouville Bay many times. I did a lot of kayak fishing there in the late 90's, using the ebb from La Rocque to fish the outer reefs, had plenty of fish, bass, wrasse and pollack but happily retired now.

      it races up dosnt it I’m going to give it a go out by the conchière on the jigs and softies for the pollock and wrasse in the summer.
      I’d imagine smaller tides out there would be an advantage for slightly slower drifts.

    You should do a few videos on how you rig your kayak and the equipment you use.

      I will do that soon mate.
      I have made a few adjustments to mine and currently just awaiting a few more parts to arrive for the kayak.

    What tackle are you using? I’m glad I’m not the only person that sits on my kayak with their legs hanging over the sides 😂😂. I’ve never done very well with lures from my kayak for bass, birds take my lures off the surface so usually take a towel to get them off! safely 😢😢 get stalked by seals too. tight lines. 🎣

      Hi buddy I like fishing lures in this area so a 8-9ft 7-40g lure rod does the trick and means I can through out some light lures as well as slightly larger soft plastics.
      Ahh yes the birds can be a nightmare sometimes.
      I actually caught a seagull by accident on one of my previous videos.
      They do peck a little but it’s not as painful as I’d have thought.
      Tight lines buddy!

    Dear friend, I think it's a bad idea to go kayak fishing with boots on. Safety above all. Good fishing! Good video!

    • @FISHISLANDTV
      @FISHISLANDTV  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello there,
      I find the boots lightweight, comfortable and long lasting as the entire boot is free of any metal including the boot laces loops etc etc.
      if you have a better suggestion for footwear I’d be open to trying something different.
      I wear them over my dry trousers to protect the socks.
      in the summer I’m happy to wear wetsuit/surfing boots.
      what brand of footwear do you wear?
      Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!

      Yeah the pot makers can be handy in the tide for sure.. providing the tides dropping!

      @@FISHISLANDTV I did tie to a storm damaged bunch of pots and ropes wrapped around them on the flood but kept an eye on how much rope I had spare as this bunch the buoy must submerge about half tide. On that 25’ tide day. Cheers for the Astorie lesson out there mate. Used the one I have with more confidence since. Getting it moving better.

      The correct boots accompany the dry suit & is what I wear for immersion along with the usual other safety devices. It’s not flip flop country.
