It’s funny when he demoed the tremolo pedal I said “damn that sounds close to my vintage ampegs built in tremolo” and his next words are “it sounds close to this vintage ampeg tremolo I have over here”. I wonder if he’s using an ampeg reverberocket or a gemeni

lol i love when guitarists come on Rig Rundown and be like "i'm getting too geeky for people" like fam, we all clicked on Rig Rundown for that exact reason. tell us which 500k pots you prefer and which abr-1 material you're into. we live for it haha we're all the same here

    • @teriakamoto

Agreed. There are a million Guitarist that shred and tear it up and can play Yngwie Malmsteen and sweep pick, and some even have their own channels with tons of viewers, but the don't play live and have thousands of gigs and studio hours under their belt. I'll be honest at first I thought to myself, who is this guy ? I was dead wrong, I found him likable, intelligent, educated, humble, proficient, and totally blue collar. I have so much in common with this kid it's crazy from the '76 Firebird and the Pots lol to simplicity of gear and taste in everything(especially Cream). My life is Guitar and Music. Learning what makes everything tick.Working on Guitars, changing shit constantly, watching youtube videos on pedals, etc.Sound familliar ? I have had some epic historical gear and sold all of it and came back to rebuild my dynasty more than once. He had a great attitude about it. It's like Andy Dufrain in Shawshank. I guess it's safe to say we all liked Andy from the start. This is what's missing in Music these days. Feeling, and soul. Being a Geek is pretty cool.

Man it makes me so happy to see guys this talented be super geeky about gear. Some guys just plug and play and that's just fine, but there's a difference in fighting every piece of the signal chain to find the sound you have in your head.
When you find it is like listening to angels sing, and then you turn it on the next day and you hate it so you start over. I live for that shit.

Nick preaching the gospel of tone people. So interesting hearing him talking about the brightness of the Super Lead but the pleasing frequency response of the JTM45. Over the past year or so I find myself nearly rolling all of the tone out of my SG and backing off treble wherever I can to get to something I like. Never played the JTM45, but would love to give one a try!

I love watching rig rundowns, doesn't matter if it's a guitar player that i listen to or not, doesn't matter if it's an old or a new video. You always learn new stuff about equipment and discover new stuff. The pedalboard is always my favorite part. I'm 34 and always on the look for the new discovery of musicians and equipment to inspire me. In the case of Nick Perri whom i didn't know before, what a guitar player and a humble guy. Thanks Premier Guitar!

Just awesome.. now im off to watch his live show hear on good ol You Tube. keep the rig rundowns coming guys.. cus there sooo inspiring and interesting. Thanks again and greeting from Crete, Greece.. Rock On!

I wanted to hear about his guitar workshop but he got cut off when he had the Les Paul on. He is more of a gear head / tone dude then any Rig Rundown I’ve seen (minus The Edge). Same type of goal though, knows about everything that goes into tone down to a 70 cent cap. I’m really into in-depth tone talk like this so I could hear this dude talk for days about how tone is shaped. He pays attention to every detail. It’s not one of this “I just play them” type interview, love it.
