- Scotland suffered last second heartbreak as Poland struck with virtually the last strike of the game to deny the team a place at Euro 2016.
Robert Lewandowski’s early goal stunned Hampden before Matt Ritchie’s 25 yard thunderbolt drew things level going into half-time. Steven Fletcher’s looping second half strike looked to have won the game for Scotland only for Lewandowski to bundle home a last gasp free-kick to break the home fan’s hearts. - กีฬา

I'm Polish, and I couldn't be happier, but respect to Scotland. You gave it your all throughout this campaign but just had little luck. You did better than Ireland in my opinion. Wish you all the best for the 2018 world cup qualifiers.

We don't have a Lewandowski/Bale class player saving us. Our defence is pitiful and that's what cost us. The Scotland football team couldn't defend well if their lives depended on it.
4:10 second goal for Poland is pure magic, first Grosicki screws up the cross, the ball bounces off a Scottish defender's hand, hits the post, and then is pushed into the net by two players. 10/10.

Scotland are a side with no luck.
They always blow it.
The defeat in Georgia finished Scotland.
The Scots are a better team than Ireland yet somehow finish below them.
4 games against Poland and Ireland and not a single defeat.
Yet we still fail.
Unbelievable.
And what a tough group.
While Northern Ireland qualify from the easiest group imaginable.
Same with England.
Anyway congratulations to Northern Ireland and Wales.

If you are Scottish, and you are rooting for other national teams, you should never associate yourself with Scotland, we hang our heads with pride. We are by far the worst team out of Germany, Poland and Ireland. Germany are World Cup winners, and Poland have players who play for Bundesliga winning sides....

As a Polish American, I was so so proud of the boys that day, the never say die attitude, playing in front of a crazy Glasgow crowd, down, and still not giving up... a far cry from the last week in this world cup... horrific :(

It was a great game and that last seconds goal was really unlucky for Scotland. Overall it was an amazing show to watch, thrilling and full of emotions, but also a tough, physical game which, at times, seemed more like rugby rather than football, but given how both sides needed results in this game, it's well understandable. It didn't help that you had to face Lewandowski in his prime, cause the last few weeks are surely his best ever. It was a really tough and close group and a difficult campaign, where a single defeat (not counting Germany for obvious reasons) resulted with Scotland's chances for Euro burried. As Polish, I'm really used to this bitter feeling you must suffer from right now, but hey that's football and these emotions are what's beautiful in this game. Even though you didn't succeed eventually, you fought really well and I wish you guys better luck next time.
I'm from Poland and in my opinion Scotland are better team than Ireland!
What a pity that such good team like Scotland will not qualify. We are in tough group, (there were 4 strong teams, each capable to promote - not like in other groups) and someone must be a sufferer. 2:2 is fair result. You Scots bury your chances down by unexpected loss with Georgia.. But you played well and someday you'll flourish :) Greetings from Poland

Every one of the 4 from our group would have at least made top 2 in the other groups.
Its unfair that 4 teams of a good level and equal level were in the same group.
Though of course the Germans are the best of the 4.
It was 100% the hardest group of the lot.

I've been watching Scotland-Poland match live in Warsaw... It had everything - wonderful atmosphere on tribunes, uncertainty and the goal in last minutes... It was amazing to see all scotish fans all dressed in national colours and talk to them in my home town Warsaw. Sad thing that Scotland didn't qualify but the atmosphere of that match, scotish fans support and some nice scotish fans I've met after match stayed in my memory... ;-)

Scotland had some moments but are a bit poor. Poland were out of form on defense. As great as that Matt Richie goal looked, it was total luck.. if you look at the player he's not even looking at the goal and is blindly shooting with his back turned. It worked like magic but pretty lucky

I understand that Strachan likes to be Loyal to his team but some of his choices are poor. Marshal is a good shot stopper but cannot command his defence. I would have chosen Gordon instead and yes, Fletcher scored a brilliant goal he also missed chance after chance. Someone else would've been better

Poland & Ireland are no better than us but the difference is that they have taken points off the Germany and not dropped points against Georgia.
We were not beaten by either of them but as usual we made an arse of it.
I do not think we are as far away as some will have you believe. Yes we missed out this time, but I think it's important we stay positive and I think it's important that Strachan remains as manager.

as for the 2 teams i think both sides are average at best ....scotland took 4 pts from ireland but some people tend to ignore the fact that ireland took 4 pts from the world champions..
not sure when was the last time the germans lost 4 pts to anyone in a group stage
the difference i think was that o neill got irelands defense organised toward the end of the group and made them difficult to break down ....scotland never quite got their defense to play at that level..
bosnia matchs were a good example ireland scored 3 times v bosnia ,,scotland might have scored as much or more against them ..but i doubt scotland would have held them to just 1 goal... that was what done it for ireland in the end...
at any rate both countries need to find good young players from somewhere
