  • Visceral fat is what most of us think of as belly fat. It is the term used to describe the fat that builds up within the abdomen. Visceral fat cannot be pinched, but it does expand your waistline, crowd your internal organs, and actively contribute to disease.
In this video, I’ll explain why this type of fat is harmful and how you can get rid of it.

Dropping the 100 lbs of misery weight I put on after a spinal cord injury with these exact methods. Doing it from a wheelchair with zero movement below my chest. Calorie restriction and the typical 3 meal diet would have never had these results. I’m 70lbs down in less than a year 💪♿️

I've lost 47 pounds and now weigh 158 on May 31, 2021 (BMI Normal).
I initially lost 25 in 4 months, then plateaued for about 6 months.
Learned more tactics, then lost the next 22 in just over 3 months.

      That's great. Congrats!
      What are you eating?
I have done Keto in the past and I lost 4lbs in 14 months of doing strict Keto resistance training and cardio.
Also I have done OMAD eating carbs and working out over the last few years with zero success in fact I think I have gained some weight and inches, definitely not muscle. I even added walking five miles a day for 90 days straight and still nothing. Since nothing has worked for me starting December 31st I switched to low carbs (only carbs I eat are from berries) and still I can't lose an ounce of weight... My hunger just almost never goes away. Thank you.

@@Scottlp2 Hi, Depending on the meal, an hour to hour and a half. A big salad can take a some time to eat but I have no trouble getting the calories especially when fat comes in so many firms and is so delicious. Getting enough nutrients isn’t an issue either as I eat a whole-food diet, so nothing processed, or with a label. I find too that I can eat more in a single meal than I ever cooks before, even when I was 20/4 IF. My body adapted very well to the single meal which is why I stepped up from IF. I regularly do 48 hour fasts about once every two weeks, and I’m maintaining my weight and health excellently.

BECKY - At 4 minutes 31seconds you've said that '4 weeks of fasting' has shown to reduce weight, should that say 'intermittent fasting on and off for 4 weeks'. Is it just me, or is there a risk someone might try to actually fast for 4 weeks continuous, clearly deleterious.

I've been losing a lot of weight over a long period of time. So far my total loss is about 200 pounds. I have a ways to go but I have very little "Pinchable" fat compared to what I had. What I know about weight loss is terribly outdated but I've been doing a lot of study by way talking to physicians. Sadly there seems to be as many ideas about handling this problem as there are doctors. I have about 60 or 70 pounds to go and a couple bad habits left to break. Watching this video has reminding me of things that I already knew and taught me a few new things. Thank you.

I lost 100 pounds in about 4 or 5 months on keto and omad , but I've hit a wall. No matter what I do I can't seem to lose the last 25 pounds. It's still a blessing to be 100 pounds lighter and not worry about diabetes. Giving up carbs is hard, but after awhile you don't miss them too much. I still eat my favorite foods on my birthday and Christmas. YOLO

You can lose weight on any diet that you don’t eat for three days. But you will get it all back and your body will think it’s starving so your metabolism will slow down.

I've learn't alot about insulin resistance through your channel and the importance of low carb and low sugar diet. Whats disturbing I realized is that part of the problem is evidence resistance by our medical community over the years by overlooking the benefits of the diet for their patients. I'm not labeling all doctors but the evidence has always been there!! I'd rather see a prescription that reads low carb and low sugar.
    Thanks again,
    Dr. Becky

I've been on a keto diet, and cardio based program for 4 months now. Lost 23kg in 1 month, but for the past 3 months I've been stuck to the same weight. Can't seem to get rid of that stubborn fat. The only explanation I have is I went too extreme and my body adapted, so I strongly advise to take it step by step. If you don't, your body will adapt too quickly. Also, make sure to eat lots of fibre, or you might get constipated. Constipation stops fat loss.

Just one quibble, aerobic exercise performed at a high level becomes anaerobic and burns glucose instead of fat.

First... Becky, you look great! Your fitness is an inspiration to me. Second, can someone help me figure out how to eat more healthy fats? I've got avocado, olive oil, nuts, eggs, and cheese. But to make this the majority of my caloric intake, I need to find more variety.

Dear Dr Becky, Can you re-do an update talk on " How To Avoid That Instant Fat Feeling" I'm wondering why I am feeling bloated. I'm one week sugar-free on the 40-day challenge! My tea tastes bad though. I'm hoping that will change. Thank you

Anyway, for a constructive feedback, your video quality should be higher than this. The quality of this video is like a 1990's movie 😅
