Its reported in some places, some years after Spanish regular army were issued CETME proper 7.62 battle rifles, not only was issued to national policemen. But also Spanish Foreign Legion too. There were at least two violent campaigns in Spanish Morocco post WW2 against locals.
This was the responsibility mostly for thier legionarres to quell the uprising. One was successful. The second one, not so much.

7.62 CETME is a lower recoiling round, NOT a lower pressure round. It's a lightweight aluminum bullet being pissed out by basically pistol powder. It was only used on the early CETME rifles for full auto fire. The bolt actions were not designed for that round in mind. Spain adopted the NATO round before creating the CETME round, which they quickly abandoned.

I reload mine like a 300 Savage. The NATO round is at the pressure limit plus the margin of error for a small ring mauser.

      Sounds like a good idea.

I also handload my FR-7 to 300 Savage level. It seemingly groups them about 2.5 to 3 inches, a 5 shot group at 100.
When I fired 7.62 Hirtenberger in it, bolt lift became very stiff so i stopped after nine rounds.
It really scattered these rounds. So called main point of impact was about 8 inches hi at 100, from point of aim. I think it is quite possible, a first cold bore shot, with 7.62 ball, is already at a 300 zero, with its 100 meter selection.
