This guy is literally incredible. I’m an artist and hearing this is just entirely fascinating and amazing and phenomenal. I always believed a lot of the stuff he saying, but he’s such a great example of putting your heart to it and never fully backing down Third Eye Blind is hope it’s optimistic It’s beautiful. And I hope to carry a lot of its influence through performing. I can’t wait to meet him one day and tell him how much his music is utterly changed my life.
I’ve seen Third Eye Blind 7 times since ‘98 and their legend keeps growing. Their music, although dark themed, is joyful. Interesting to hear Jenkins plain talk of his journey from the dirty streets to superstar artist. His thoughts about grunge being nihilistic totally matches what I thought about it when it was all the rage. He just conveyed it so much better than I ever could back in the day!
And another thing for artists to takeaway , is even with all the talent, drive, technical ability, accept the fact that it takes a great deal of luck and right place right time, for every famous artist there are 100 that live in that same town
the guy talks like he is a solo act: "my first album" ..."my third tour" ----in fact - he didnt do almost anything on the albums music written by kevin cadogan lyrics written by eric godtland
@jackmjohnson - Jenkins has written or co-written every song on the band's five studio albums and one EP. Jenkins won two California Music Awards for Best Songwriter along with bandmate Cadogan; in addition, he was nominated three years in a row as Best Vocalist and won Artist of the Year.
@@martinaddison4880 yes where he says nothing about the technicals of songwriting...just stories of making it big...wonder why he wont get into songwriting specifics
