Alex Mercer Wow you must know so much about Batman that you note something that is from the movies. Joker in the early days looked like the man who laughs. Sure his face was in a permanent smile but it was a Glasgow smile. Artists realized that the Joker is to expressive to have a single facial expression so they ignored it.

On my opinion the whole twin and inspiration thing was silly. I mean come on writers, you know better than this. Jerome was 100 % the Joker. He was the most accurate version to the comic books. Even with out the make up and chemical effects he was 100 % Joker. The writers should've embraced him instead of killing him...................... AGAIN !
Tamás Pákey It’s not the fact that they killed him again that irks me. When they killed him off the first time, they started saying that the Joker is an idea rather than one being. And before he let himself fall to his second death, Jerome gave this message:
“I’m more than a man. I’m an idea, a philosophy, and I will live on in the shadows, within Gotham’s discontent. You’ll be seeing me soon.”
That alone contradicts Fox’s claim that Jerome was never the Joker.
Joshua Ashby Okay I understand that . But on my opinion the writers should've embraced the character instead of killing him , just like how they do it with Bruce , but still remaining a guest character . And the final fight scene in 3x14 would've meant so much more then just Bruce creating the philosophy of the Batman , it would've predicted the future of Bruce and Jerome . I'm not saying that fight scene meant little , but when I heard the news that Jerome is not the Joker after watching 3x14, then that fight just meant that Bruce vows not to kill and creates the philosophy of the Batman . If they would've embraced Jerome , then it would've been wonderful to see that they embrace the character just like how they did it in the Maniax story arc or the Jerome story arc in Season 3 , but still having Jerome as a guest character . Embracing both the character and the philosophy of the Joker . Like making Gotham more than just a TV show about the young Batman, but also about the young Joker . Two of the greatest archnemesises in pop-culture . Cuz the inspiration and twin thing would make the Joker seem like nothing more than just a copycat . Bruce vs Jerome = Batman vs the Joker = Order vs Chaos .
But that's just my opinion .
Tamás Pákey I absolutely agree that they should’ve kept Jerome alive. I like the cold and calculating personalty of Jeremiah, and I at first had trouble deciding which Joker character I liked more. But the more I think about it, the more I realize Jerome had more in common with the popular image of the Joker than Jeremiah does right now. That may change, but who knows?

Well basically he accidentally overdosed on drugs during the editing stages of The Dark Knight, before it had released. He was a method actor, so he practically took on the mentality of the Joker in real life, which is why it's commonly said that he died playing as the Joker, and the Joker casting role is cursed.
@The Riddler I wasn't trying to say that him being dead is the sole reason his performance was good. I think it definitely was great. Im saying that most of his fans are almost cult like in behavior when his performance is mentioned. Even before Joker (2019) came out, people were dismissing Phoenix's performance saying he could never in a million years equate to Ledger, and no one ever can ever come close. Good actor, toxic fanbase.

With Jeremiah valeska's role he was in a high intelligence, cold, imotionsless and scary
