- This is a town where you'll enjoy losing yourself...not only in the narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobean shopfronts, wander down to the canal basin and take a trip on the canal, Brecon also has a cathedral the Cathedral started life in 1093 , built by the Normans on the site of an earlier Celtic church. At the dissolution of the monasteries in 1538 it became Brecon’s Parish Church. It became a Cathedral only in 1923

In studying my family history I found my 11th Great Grandfather Edward Lewis was born in Brecon 1586!
Nice to see where some of my ancestors lived! Thank you!
Hi Homer, Thank you for your interesting comment regarding your ancestry. Where are you living now?
Hi! I am living in Richmond Virginia USA!
My grandpa is a lewis from brecon too, we’re probably related haha
Thanks for a very informative and lovely video!
Hi alexandradance- swindells , Thank you for your kind comment.
Without sounding offish you need to use modern day stills of Brecon as most of what you have shown are from years gone by and a lot no longer exist which is mis leading.Pity
Hi breeze 147, Thank you for you comment, as a matter of interest most of the stills are from when I worked in Brecon which was a number of years ago. Which buildings/ Shops no longer exist? Best Wishes.
