This guy is better than any other professional presenter on main stream media and he did all this by himself. Well done sir and we may see each other up there!
Great video. One of my favourite places. First expored these parts as a spotty teenager on my D of E. Now 59 years of age it still takes my breath away just as it did when I first saw it. A truly magical place. After all fairy stories only happen in lands far far away. This on the other hand is just on the other side of the mountain where I live, and very real. :)
Thanks for your message - Love this place to! Missing my chance to get back up there lately but I'll be straight back up there soon. Superb views and landscape!
Great video clip Jay, thanks for sharing, it looks beautiful there, we've hoping to get out hiking to Llyn Y Fan Fach later in the year so you're video can give us some ideas on where to go, we've subscribed :) 👍
Still my fav walk Ian! It's mad to think in peak summer so few people visit compared to more popular peaks such as Pen y Fan. It's still such a hidden gem love it!
Hello Jay. That was awesome mate. I'm pretty new to TH-cam I've here before just to see the crashed plane. My video isn't good quality but it's was watched by good a few😁 Not as many as yours though😂 Tomorrow I go back and camp at the lake. The weather's not great but I'll try to show share best I can there. Your video's are very good. Keep sharing butty boy😁🫡👋
@@JayCurtis binge watched your videos yesterday 🤗 definitely will visit a lot you have mentioned and will look into a night stay on the stack rock fort ⛺️
Hey guys! If you take the Llanddeusant car park walk it's about an hour to the top of Llyn y Fan Fach and the next lake Llyn y Fan Fawr is about an hour from there at a leisurely walk taking in Picws Ddu etc. You'll do it all in day of good weather! 👍
My dad in 1939 was part of a rescue party that went up the summit of Fan Hir to bring down the crew of a crashed Avro Anson . I don't think the crew made it unfortunately but there is a memorial stone outside The door of Callwen church .
Just did this walk and don’t be fooled by how fresh he is. I just walked the carpark to the first lake and is tougher than he makes it look lol Yes I’m not in great shape but others younger and in good shape said it wasn’t easy. Anyone can do it but give yourself time lol
Hi Daniel depends on your pace I’d say. Leisurely to the first lake an hour, my speedy full route pace probably around 4 hours but over 5 if you want a chilled day with stops and over 6 if you want to do the crash site as well.
Hey you'll love it! Can be as long or as short as u like. You can just do the one lake in an hour or so or work your way around the other Carnarthenshire fans and second lake in a good 4 hours or so. If you want to do the crash site as well I'd say set off at first light and expect to be out till sunset. Hope that helps
@@JayCurtis we don't want to do the whole circular - so how long to walk from the car park to Llyn y Fan Fach, and from there just up onto the ridge above the lake and back down the same way? Thanks
when this was made it was quieter .... now the car park is rammed ; and muggles everywhere. on this day - someone's car stuck on the soft verge - uneven ground. lovely , but like everywhere else getting progressively ruined. dogs dirt in bags lying everywhere on path.........
I still go regular and it has its busier days and quiet days. It’s began to get a lot of global media in the local planet guide so sadly not everyone is as respectful when it comes to rubbish etc but it should be enjoyed respectfully as it’s an amazing place.
Hi Jack I use the Llanddeusant car park- post code SA19 9UN as the quickest and most impressive route and it starts there on my vid. But you could climb from the Dan yr Ogof showcaves side as well.
Llyn Y Fan Fach is a spectacular place, there's something magical about it. Fantastic video, you've really captured the beauty of the place!
Thanks guys! Very kind of you. Have to agree for me I prefer this amazing backdrop to many others. 💙👍

very very cool
Is it dangerous? Like any particularly precarious/narrow parts?
Not really if you stick to the main routes there’s no narrow paths

how many km we have to walk after parking the car
It's about 8Km
How long did this walk take you ? I'm there tomorrow but I've seen mixed time scales online.
