The effects (shaking screen in particular) kind of ruins a lot of it, as you can't see what's going on.

There was like a TvT followed by TvP clip without any splitting at all. Or other micro stuff for that matter
imho should have taken the second happy clip aswell, he had only that bright moment but his marine split is the best ever seen

In gold league most players are stutter stepping I'm sure, I've always used the stutter step, and I'm not a pro...
back then I was bronze or so now I'm diamond and look at some of these plays and just shake my head .. xD

saw a couple of sick splits, which impressed me. then a solid minute of stutter stepping probes which didnt impress me so much. then back to more sick splits

in that one match ace actually did a pretty good job of keeping those zealots alive

Which is a good thing seeing as Zergs never had to micro anyway near as much as Terrans during large engagements.

you mean the way that when zerg give the retort to terran that marine split makes banelings worse, splitting to a level at which this is true is only possible for pros?

Guide to total Epicness:
Step 1: Mute and pause video
Step 2: In another youtube tab, search Requiem Of a dream 10 hours.
Step 3: Play Requiem of a dream and immediately start this video
Step 4: Sit back and Chill

What's the matter? Fungal does almost no damage any more. And a BL, corruptor and infestor push takes forever to get up mean while terranes are dropping, siege tank pushing, meching and who says you can't build ghosts to snipe BLs. Terran units are the most cost effective in the game. You even have a unit which mass heals your shit. You also have MULEs and scans as if things werent imba enough your bases defend themselves. And you can turtle and not worry because siege tank turret bunk OP.
Your argument is the Zergs' larvae, but Terran has more effective units sot that evens out mostly. And because of the more effective units they need more micro. Zergs need better positioning though. However the only joy MULEs give to Protoss and Zerg is knowing that the Terran's main will be mined out before yours.
The reason people don't use Ghosts anymore is because they're terrible since the Snipe nerf. The reason people don't use them vs Infestors is because any decent Zerg will have overseers with their army and their Infestors well out of Snipe range. It's almost impossible to punish a Zerg before Hive tech anymore, and the queen buff has made early game all-ins much harder to pull off as well. I'm a bad player (mid-Masters Terran) so I can only comment on balance that affects high level play.

but also so hard to play against
Their DPS is fucking insane, you have to balance that :P But with Micro they retain that edge of just eating things alive with marines.
Thing is, you can bait and split and cause fungals to hit only a few marine or marauders. I go pure bio with vikings when needed. Haven't lost to fungals since. It just takes insane micro, its very hard to do, but if a Gold player can do it, anyone can do it. I remember a game I believe MKP vs Life. He lost every game except the one he went pure Bio in. Terran hope!

Positional play comes in when the two players are head to head equally matched. like how to pull off 3 pronged attacks, when to engage tank ball, how to force unseige etc etc.
if you get a surround on an enemy, you can kill it a lot faster and lose a lot less units then if you run to a chock point and get burned by aoe damage.
so tell me why templas in a zerg bar?
You know, if you just practice with the micro trainer, you can perform pretty effective marine splits after a week or 2 of practice. You can literally never use tanks again in TvZ, my friend just masses marines and medivacks, and then transitions into marine medivack raven. He can split so damn well, he has an ~80% winrate versus zerg, and he's a silver.
im a terran/zerg players and yes i do and its not so hard you can just run your marines back to the siege tanks and then focus fire with siege tanks
why do 2 templars walk in a zerg bar? :o
if zerg is op toss is the Armageddon, toss need to do little to gain alot

The point is that we don't get to see this kind of micro anymore because infestors shut it down. It's got nothing to do with going mass marine vs infestor.

Not to deny the abilities of the players, but to suggest that marine micro is some sort of higher form of SC2 is silly.

lmao, it wasn't because it was a different meta or something like that. There was never a meta where combat shield was something you didn't get when going bio. What really happened was that kyrix did 2 baneling busts at the beginning of the game and 1 of them killed the tech lab researching combat shield, and MKP forgot to restart it.
And not a single marine was lost that day.....
Back when nobody knew what Infestors were.

Right and I agree it's probably the most even game. However that's no excuse for Terran for getting something that mines 30 minerals at once, and doesn't cost supply. Late game not only are terran units a lot more cost effective but they can just sacrifice their mineral SCV's and get an extra 60 some supply for army.
