I really enjoyed this video and it really helped me realize how much writing was put into a character who has one of the shortest screentimes.
And you explained rikus journey perfectly. Most people hate braveheart because of how cool the way to dawn looks but it fits riku so much. The key its modeled after is a dimple keyblade not a car key like some people think, and the reason this fits so much is that dimple keys are more secure than normal keys, its to show how riku is able to TRAP the darkness in his heart. Not to mention like you said before the way to dawn was an early sign of his progression, as it was basically just soul eater with an angelic wing, the being of his arc, but hes reached it now and he it doesnt fit him anymore.
I used to think that riku replica was just to show what riku could've been but he was always his own person. He actually feels like what roxas couldve been if he never got his own identity.
Also the namine thing is really simple. In remind we see sora using his keyblade on kairi. Thats how namines heart was freed. If you remember in bbs terra unlocked the princesses heart, this ability is something only keyblade masters or those on the level of one can do. Sora has reached that ability and thats how namine was freed.

I had no idea it was a dimple key and the symbolism of being more secure thats perfect for KH3 Riku. And dang I didn't even think of the duality he had to Roxas. Thats a really good point. I guess if I think about it he's like the worse case scenario for a couple characters. Riku if he fell completely to darkness, Roxas if he didn't find his identify and Xion if she didn't make friends. Replica is more nobody than the actual Nobodies 🤧

24:27 Well...yes Riku has the Power of Waking...that is nothing new. He already used in in Dream Drop Distance to rescue Sora. But he didn't use it to rescue Naminé. Look in the ending of Re:Mind. The ending Cutscenes are made longer where you see what Sora and Kairi do after the ending and in the Naminé scene you can see how Sora uses the Power of Waking on Kairi to help Naminé.
When it comes to riku and his darkness. Something, interesting I've picked up on is often times riku can't see the good side of his own darkness. See, riku views it as something evil he must keep in check. However, the darkness time and time again has told riku he needs to accept it. Because accepting it will make him whole. Darkness is natural just as light is and by rejecting it. He is rejecting himself.
There is an Understanding that is lost on English speakers. Riku Replica was created using the Memories of The Real Riku.
Namine cannot create or erased Memories. She just takes apart the Links and rearranges them.
And Namine uses something called the Meteor Promise to create the attachment between her and Riku Replica.
But if you know the words in Japanese, it is heavily implied She Used a Real promise between Riku and Sora they made on the Night Kairi fell on to Destiny Islands. Kairi was the Meteor.
Namine put herself over Sora for the Riku Replica, and for Sora, she made him Riku and then stayed in the Sora Position in the Meteor Promise.
So, the reason Riku Replica wants to get rid of the Real Riku, is because The Real Riku has the Love of Sora that he doesn't.

@@UnlikeMike0 Yeah. In KH3 and Dream Drop in Japanese, it is more explicit. Riku's "protect stuff that matters" become "protect my precious person/important person/ person I love most".
To be clear, this is the phase Hercules uses to talk about Megara, and is translated in English as "person I love most".
Same Phrase, but not downplayed.....

And who Wakes Sora?
Is the Power of Waking not a True Love's Kiss into a Heart?
And Riku is the First One to do it to Sora in Dream Drop.
He literally Stands in Sora's Heart and states in the Japanese he is here to get back his "precious Person"/ Person I love most".
And As Ansem the Wise says, "Sora is awake"
@@UnlikeMike0 So, yeah, Riku Replica was trying to use Darkness to fill the Space Sora/"Namine" was in. But the Darkness keeps gnawing.... and gnawing. The Power of Darkness isn't Sora...... And if he cannot Have Sora, then Riku can't .... either....
Kh3 haters also think that kh1 (the best game of all time) isn't as good as kh2. So what do they know?
@@TiredHighProductions Big facts! I did noticed most people who hate KH3 also say their favorite game is KH2. Now my favorite game is KH1 and I noticed a lot of people who also have KH1 as their favorite, LOVED KH3. I personally think KH3 was the closest feeling I've ever had to playing KH1. I love KH2 don't get me wrong it's still an S tier game for me BUT it didn't give me the same feeling that KH1 gave me. Something about 2 feels a little disconnected to its roots and I feel like KH3 really did recapture the "magic" of playing the first game.
@@UnlikeMike0 lol absolutely! KH1 > KH3 > KH2. Obviously it really is just personal preference, and everyone is also allowed to change their mind depending on their mood. But between the huge gap in console games, I think there was just a lot of people who played KH2 more than the other games, giving it a bias. Nowadays, my favorite part of KH2 is the intro, a lot of people's least favorite part haha.
KH3 also has its problems, don't get me wrong. But compared to the other two games I think its main issue is dialogue pacing/direction. The script itself isn't even THAT bad (for a disney X square enix game). But the audio quality and breaks between lines is rather atrocious. Something is just... Off in the dialogue. As far as I'm aware, the subs are the same as the English dubs, but I'm currently playing on PC in Japanese. And so far the pacing is great. But I'm just now passing the halfway point, which is when the dialogue gets awkward iirc. So we'll see.
@@TiredHighProductions @TiredHighProductions Maybe KH3 perception is based on if your more biased to KH1 or 2 because I deffinitly have a huge KH1 bias. I also seem to love aspects about 2 that people hated like the intro and Atlantica. I heard other people complain about the audio for KH3 but I dont think I understand just yet. My next playthrough I'll have to pay closer attention to see the audio issues.
Still not as bad as what happened to Data-Sora, he was created to be used, they messed up a lot with his existence, they made it looke like he created real connections with his friends outside, only to in the end reveal he was being used as a test if it would break Sora's heart, then thrown back to live a fake copy loop of someone's life, Data-Sora is exactly why people feel bad for Roxas, who was said to be a copy of someone because they were the same and only the real one needed to live, except unlike Roxas who was never truly gone, had people who cared for him and was back just fine later, all of this it actually happened permanently to Data-Sora and it wasn't even by choice like this Riku who decided his endng himself.
Honestly didn't even think about Data Sora haha. I deffinitly agree with you but the only thing I'll give a little push back to is unlike the Nobodys and Replicas, Data Sora truley does not exisit. He's essentially all just 1s and 0s. Now the push back on my own push back 😆 would have to be in this universe does that even matter if he is just 1s and 0s? Existance is real enough dependent on perspective in the KHverse. Baymax is data but is real enough, the UX people used to be 'real' and became data, Wreck-it-Raplf is made of code, Pooh is data in the sense of words in a story book. Maybe what is comes down to is does Data Sora have a Heart or is he just code script? I'm leaning towards he may just be real enough. Thanks for giving me a persepctive I never thought about ♥
@@UnlikeMike0 I mean doesn't Sora say that there are hearts all around and all we need to do is see them for them to become real? For example Pinocchio is just wood and yet still he grew a heart, so reducing Data-Sora to not real feels sad, we also have Tron too who was able to remember Sora's connection in DDD despite him being 'just' manipulated Data.
