This concert From Lara with Love late 1999 was planned and recorded to be her breakthru in the US but was abruptly prevented from wide broadcasting at decent hours by politics from Celine Dion’s staff with their common record company Sony. Sony subsequently blocked Lara’s progress in the US. Lara had to refocus on other countries where she became a star or even a legend (France, Canada, Brazil, Russia and eastern europe, central asia, …) She is the best: in terms of breath management, but also resonance, diction in 12 languages, phrasing, emotional storytelling and songwriting in 4 languages. This CD can out in 1999 on Lara's self titled album, "Lara Fabian". I was walking thru a book store that also sold CD.s and saw this one in the front new releases and had a sticker on the CD that read " Money back if not satisfied".......a very good marketing ploy from Sony Records. Watch and compare Lara's version in italian and be amazed how much better it sounds. The version in English filmed inn Russia/Georgia was a very vary poor recording, which does not help as well. It was released in Italian and English in 1999 (possibly with the italian lyrics written first and both the english and italian versions were released on Lara Fabian (1999 album)) and was adapted from an original orchestral piece written by Tomaso Albinoni (date unknown) and then adapted by Remo Giazotto December 1957. The lyrics of the English Version were changed in order to rhyme and fit better with the music. AND to my ear the version in italian flows better - even if I have to read the subtitles.

She is the muse of Igor Krutoy and performed many packed concerts in Kiev. Lol.
This concert From Lara with Love late 1999 was planned and recorded to be her breakthru in the US but was abruptly prevented from wide broadcasting at decent hours by politics from Celine Dion’s staff with their common record company Sony. Sony subsequently blocked Lara’s progress in the US.
Lara had to refocus on other countries where she became a star or even a legend (France, Canada, Brazil, Russia and eastern europe, central asia, …)
She is the best: in terms of breath management, but also resonance, diction in 12 languages, phrasing, emotional storytelling and songwriting in 4 languages.
That’s why she is the idol or inspiration of legends such as Josh Groban but also many vocalists from the new generation that covered one or many of her songs: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Cakra Khan, Gabriel Henrique, Morissette Amon, Gigi de Lana, …

This CD can out in 1999 on Lara's self titled album, "Lara Fabian". I was walking thru a book store that also sold CD.s and saw this one in the front new releases and had a sticker on the CD that read " Money back if not satisfied".......a very good marketing ploy from Sony Records. I bought it and it remains as one of my all time favorites, Lara is in a class all her own IMO.
Thanks for the reaction and the good question. Obviously, the exhalation at the end was made intentionally to emphasize the character’s condition. Lara is a very experienced and technical singer, so it’s just a stage move.
Lara Fabian es una de las mejores voces femeninas a nivel mundial aunque aquí en España no se la conoce mucho. Adagio es una canción preciosa. La versión en italiano que también interpreta es preciosa. Quizá porque el italiano es un idioma tan cálido. Te dejó el enlace a "Je suis malade ". Una auténtica joya. Y ella además de una voz preciosa e increíble es una intérprete que te atrapa.

Watch and compare Lara's version in italian and be amazed how much better it sounds. The version in English filmed inn Russia/Georgia was a very vary poor recording, which does not help as well. It was released in Italian and English in 1999 (possibly with the italian lyrics written first and both the english and italian versions were released on Lara Fabian (1999 album)) and was adapted from an original orchestral piece written by Tomaso Albinoni (date unknown) and then adapted by Remo Giazotto December 1957. The lyrics of the English Version were changed in order to rhyme and fit better with the music. AND to my ear the version in italian flows better - even if I have to read the subtitles.
