Friends and I are new to this game thanks to inclusion of PS and set up dedicated server for crossplay opting for learning through trial and error for the majority - these explanations of the "We arent ready for those blocks" are amazingly presented and make me hopeful to explain to them rather than my mother (but I'm sure she will want to hear it too).

No matter how well I know it, my mother doesn't want to hear it.

Yeah, Space Engineers is a game of weird knowledge you only get after hearing someone mention it in passing. I'm glad I helped, though!

My mother is a senior computer programmer. I'll pass on trying to explain this to her. xP

To be honest, I feel like my programming skills are what let me understand it so easily.

@@GleebTorin Definitely were, lawls. I'm a certified mental health specialist. ;) These things to me are just space magic.
I did figure out the event controller though. I wanted 2 lights (actually I wanted 1 light, but the PS5 is limited.) 2 lights, one is green, the other is red. I wanted the connector status to be the determining factor; when connected the light is red, when unconnected the light is green.
Connected: The port is blocked; do not fly in to use it.
Unconnected: The port is open, fly in to dock.
I figured when I can figure it all out I could make a better landing port (space station) and have it dedicated for each area, at least 4 docking stations. (and got to figure out how to use the piston to extend to a connector, then lock to the ship, then set it to either drain - trade - refueling.)
^That's a lot of space magic to me. xD
But I love survival type games where I can build (oxygen not included, for example) plus it helps me practice the metric system (Imperial ftw, no regrets.) And I get to learn some new skill sets.
But C++ and whatnot.. I'mma have to pass on that one. :x Even if writing scripts does look cool enough to learn.

Is there a way to force a recheck of the conditions?
I have this drone with an emotion controller displaying different faces depending on battery charge (goes from happy to neutral to tired)
I wanted to make it react to different button presses as well though (Like love for follow and sad face for stop following)
And then revert back to indicating battery charge. I thought it would just recheck the conditions but it doesnt, it just stays stuck on whatever i change it to until one of the condition boundaries is hit again
Maybe cycling it on and off with a timer block.could work now i think about it, have to try when i get home

As far as I'm aware, there's no way to force it to recheck. Could be a great suggestion to post on the KSH forums!

Can't find a single video on youtube to describe out to use the event controller to sort cargo containers lol. Not advanced enough to use pistons...too newb for that.

    • @GleebTorin

The Event Controller is not for sorting things, it just triggers things in response to other triggers. You'll want a Sorter for that.
