One of the best sounding new v6 engines 😍
With the right color, wheels instead of these kitsch red lip ones, and aero parts it could look almost as cool as the RS6.
There’s no reason the car needs to be obnoxiously loud. It sounds really nice as it is. It already sounds about as loud, or louder than my E63s. You can have a nice sounding car without annoying everyone in a 2 kilometer radius.
100% agreed. Not every car has to scream like the devil when you accelerate. That RS4 would make for a great every day car!

imo obnoxious sound on daily drivers makes the car alot worse, rather have 100hp quiet car then 600hp screaming 24/7 as if the engine block is about to give in

The standard RS4 sounds stunning, I don’t get why you say otherwise. My tuned RS4 will do 0-100 in 3.5 sec’s so I would expect better than 3.4 sec with upgraded turbo’s.

I agree, I don’t understand why he beats up the standard rs4 sound. Mine gets so many compliments on the sound and out of all the performance cars I have owned, including AMG V8’s, the sound of the RS4 beats them all.
@@walnut5603he's used to super and hypercars, it's skews the frame of reference in contrast to folks who aren't used to big V8, V10, V12.
The RS6 Performance with Audis sports exhaust does also sound too muffled for a V8.
I think it sounds just fine. The other RS4 you had with a custom exhaust and crackle 'n pop tune, it sounded so ridiculous as if the exhaust was dragging on the ground. Pops can be nice but you can't go overboard with it unless you want to be full ricer.
The expansion after the right bend creates a vacuum effect and draws air in while the Venturi after accelerates the air in that intake. Pretty cool engineering!
This was unexpected. Can we get a soundcheck, I wanna hear this car, especially with the higher revs (and soft limiter removed)

Did you notice going 140 km/h on B roads, did you notice left turn over full Line, did you notice a detail that he said that this A4 does not have wide body but it has, 0-100 timed without engaging launch control on B road going near bye, not going top speed like with other cars on autobahn, not filming 100 to 200km/h time (just statistic), driving on a limiter, no tunnel video, if we compare to quality POV review of Max this was the worst review by AutoTopNL, Matay should stick to 3 min video with no talking and let Big brother Max do his job like a boss

I really hope with Audi bringing the RS6 to North America that we will eventually get the RS4 as well. We need more fast wagons/estates here!
I think they will eventually. With how expensive the RS6 is it would make perfect sense to bring it to the states because there is no competition for it. All of the AMG wagons have been halted because Mercedes is temporarily discontinuing all V8 models and BMW isn’t bringing any of their Wagons over to the states.
That and the fact that Audi is going to kill off all of their non EV models or convert them into EVs, I think they will say “screw it” and bring all of the performance models we don’t get (except TDI) to the states because they are going to kill them off anyways

@@tubejorrit he’s talking about the current gen RS4 which is not available in the United States. Audi does not sell the A1, Q2, RSQ3, A4 Avant, S4 Avant, RS4 Avant, A6 Avant, S6 Avant, A3 Sportback, S3 Sportback, RS3 Sportback in the US

3:42 The RS4 and RS5 only have one air to water intercooler on the driver's side stock. It's the RS6 and RS7 that have two air to air intercoolers. 4:42 the RS4 and RS5 do have wider bodies compared to the A4, S4, A5, and S5. The only body panels the RS4 has in common with the A4 and S4 is the hood, front doors, roof, and rear hatch. The front fenders, rear doors, and rear fenders are all unique to the RS4 due to it's wider track.
So refreshing to see a tweaked RS4 after all these RS6s

Did they build the rear diff for that kind of torque? I've blown 2 diffs during launch and all I have is an APR stage 1 tune.

I dont like the fact that "sporty" always means blacked out rims. All the detail of them gets lost in the color.
And for a daily driver, you really shouldn't put a loud exhaust under it.

depends on the State but in general B Roads are pretty well built.
The hood/bonnet is light aluminum, the shock absorbers on it make it seem it's heavy.

I normally like your videos but I disagree the stock RS4/RS5 sounds better than the M3/M4, especially if u hear them in person. you also said it isn't wider? the RS4 is 2.4 inches wider than an A4/S4. Car And Driver manages a 3.3 0-60 stock.
As an American, I wish we had these here. Although, the prior gen was better in my opinion. Well better looking haven't driven either so I really can't say.
It may not be "loud" but it sounds so great almost buttery in some way.

The fact of increasing a lot the red line (from 6500 to 7500) withtout any modification of the engine (cameshaft, valve etc...) will not damage the engine ?
a lot of turbo engines like this and the n54 have lower redline than needed just because of when the stock turbos leave their peak efficiency range /can't move as much air towards the top after 6.5k

But the engine itselft was not designed to work over 6.5k no ?
I see and heard the fact to goes way over the redline could severly damage cameshaft and some other pieces.
@@le_combattant2458 in general yes, another large part is whether the engine is an oversquare or long stroke design.. raising the redline on square or oversquare engine to even 7.5k is usually no issue. Because this was already a performance engine, and assuming it's at least square, probably no problems

03:01 - this is just the culprit with audi engines in general. They are moved forward as far as possible, and there is'nt much headroom to put decent intake. So you have what you have, a front intake towards the airbox on the left of the engine, and back into the engine. Bin like that for years.

Standard it has ONE small chargecooler not two, and this still only has one albiet a bigger Wagner unit.
And it has doesn't have wider arches than a standard A4.
@@razorusr I have seen the upgraded unit ( I have a Wagner in my car also).
It only has one, and only has space for one. It's mounted on the driver's side feeding the hot Vee turbo inlet .

I normally really appreciate your videos as they are different and feature really interesting cars. Being a German I have no problems at all of you doing that on the Autobahn. However, in this video, the driver shows very poor driving behaviour:
Overtaking on the right is forbidden (lorry at the beginning 05:44) switching from the very right to the left extremely dangerous and going 135 on a narrow country road is just wreckless. You are talking about this being a family car, how about the risk you are putting on families coming from the front in this narrow street and at no point expecting somebody driving like that? Doing these things is one thing...putting it on youtube with public exposure another. Consider these points. Sorry to say but guys I'm quite disappointed. Driving fast in Germany does not necessarily mean endangering other people and breaking the law. Your videos does not become cooler from this driving style!
We've been driving and videoing cars for 12 years now. We NEVER caused any sort of accident and I assure you that we don't put peoples safety at risk. In this video I honestly don't see any risky actions. 05:44 overtaking on the entry lane with a full lane in between me and the lorry does not generate any risk. I'm not debating our driving since we are probably the most experienced in the argument. It might sound a bit "dicky" but we trust our insight and skill after 12 years of doing this nearly every day.
The bonnet is heavy because it's made from steel not aluminium...
