She’s not the only one but she definitely stands out amongst those who’ve been on the show Brandon is another one from the show who really put in the work
You act like others didn't work hard on this show. Yes some didn't even try, but most did and struggled. It's not easy to loose weight and usually there is a deeper issue on why they got so heavy. She wasn't the only one.
I feel like a big part of Nikki's success was the fact that she had such a supportive family. I mean, her parents were counting Calories with her, if that doesn't show love I don't know what does.
Keep in mind the enablers are usually dealing with a manipulative person. IE they get angry if their family member doesn’t bring them whatever food they want.
I loved her saying that having a box of sweets next to her bed is "disrespecting her progress". Somehow it hits home a bit, and it’s such a powerful thing to say for any obstacle for any goal.
She’s so self aware; “i take it one meal at a time otherwise i’ll get overwhelmed”. I’m a recovering addict, getting my 6months in a few days, and this is the only way I made it this far. “I won’t use for this hour” I’m so happy and proud watching this video! She’s got the positive mindset and support, all my love to this wonderful family❤️
Sad way to live hour by hour especially at 6 months. Some days it has to be like that but not every day otherwise the drugs are still controlling you just as much as they were before because you’re thinking of them 24/7. Get a hobby. Start living. Stop counting sober days and making it an obsession!
it makes me so happy to know that she is now ~150 pounds (healthy weight) and is happily married :) super proud of her and she seems like such a sweet and genuine person!
@veronikavysoudilova9697 was about to say. ~150lbs or 68kg is normal for 5ft6 female even for BMI, and 95-115lbs (like 43-50kg) for 5ft6 female is clearly underweight if not severely so the more you're skewed toward 95lbs even for BMI. People don't know what 95lbs female looks like don't they?
My niece had to lose 60 pounds to qualify for her bariatric surgery. Once her goal was achieved, she told the doctor that she refused the operation and would settle for a diet. She lost 150 pounds and has been at a healthy weight for 5 years now. She runs every day and sometimes does triathlons.
That is exactly what it should be... If anyone can lose weight by diet and exercise it's awesome... Surgery should always be the last resort... Wishing good health for you and your niece always...
That's amazing - congratulations to her. I lost 50lbs last year to get to a healthy weight and now swim regularly. The difference has been amazing. What people don't realise is that weight loss of 90% diet. I couldn't exercise at the beginning due due to inflammation, and still lost weight through tracking calories. My inflammation improved after some weightloss so was able to exercise after a bit.
You know he means it when he says it because he's a very blunt guy and tells it like it is. So when he gives a compliment, you know it's sincere because he doesn't deal them out easily.
Manipulative beast. Yes. That´s almost standard. Occasionally it´s someone else in the malfunctioning familes. Saw a teenage girl who was doing fine when she was in a camp, once she came back home to her Mum she became this depressed overeating persona again...
She wasn't "strutting" at all; that's the only way she had of carrying her large abdomen---I'm nowhere near Nikki's size, but as an overweight person, I have to lean back sometimes to do the same thing. But yes, her mobility is/was amazing (the show ended around 2016, hence the past tense). Most of the people on the show didn't bother to get up to go to the bathroom, and here she was walking and at least staying mobile. She got down to around 200 pounds before the show ended, and I'd like to see her now.
I've seen this episode before. That was one of the first indicators she was going to be more willing to follow the plan on her own. She still walked, drove, and worked (as a costume designer at a theater) at 650 lbs. I can't think of another patient off the top of my that you can say that about. Her family was the most supportive too. It always amazes me to see the number of households where everyone else is still eating crap and expecting the patient to follow Dr. Now's diet or even making fun of their diet or telling them they can cheat. Not this family, they jumped right on board with her.
I think it is important to note that Nikki is very young. Even younger than you expect. Her body is more resilient and didn't have decades living at this size before she got the help she needed.
It’s refreshing to hear someone who appreciates a little tough love. The people in my life who truly care about me are brave enough to tell me some hard truths. I’m thankful for them.
@boodledemic6430 I saw an other comment of you where you said that you are a proud fat phobic and that we should bash fat people. Here you are saying you are fat yourself?? Anyhow, bashing people is not going to help to make them lose weight. They probably would start even to gain weight when treated like that! Are you aware that some people have a medical condition that made them fat? Yes, some people eat way too much and got fat cuz of that.. BUT that usually has reasons as well like trauma. No one deserves to be bashed. No one is fat because they like to be like that. It’s sad enough to be in that situation. No need to make it worse! Making fun of people because of their looks.. even bashing them for it.. how ignorant and childish. Get some decency!
@boodledemic6430 no one in the world has ever decided to be fat because people weren't mean to them about it. No one wants to be fat no matter how much you cry about fat acceptance or whatever.
It took being told I was borderline diabetic to finally get me to start losing weight. I'm still obese, but no longer morbidly obese. I have a long way to go, am currently 165.1lb, so need to lose another 55lb. To anyone struggling, you can do this

As an obese person this story inspired me. This young lady has worked hard and got results. Luckily I’m not in need of bariatric surgery and am still at a point where I can reverse what I’ve done through activity and calorie reduction. I will track my food consumption of the next 3 days and make the necessary adjustments to move forward.
Nikki is my favorite. I love her room, the quilts and artwork and hanging jewelry. There's a healthy element to her mind that reflects in her attitude and matching clothes.
Shes the only person on this show that has been honest about their eating habits and actually did the work! I love how supportive her family were too. I love this for her ❤
Very proud of her, she really took the program seriously and did not give any excuses. Finally a person that really wants something so bad that she accomplished beyond the goal that Dr. Now gave. And everyone is in it with her and she is getting the support and encouragement to be motivated to go beyond her expectations. Can't wait to see how things go. Congratulations on getting approved for weight lost surgery 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👍😊☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
She said the doctor is giving her an amazing chance - NO she gave it to herself. It was her that put in all of that work 😊 I’m so happy for her I got a little emotional. ❤ HalleluYAH for giving her strength and willpower to make it another day!
WOW! This was refreshing! She’s so positive and committed to changing 👏 And, no disrespect, for a big girl at 650 she looks very clean and she seems to walk well. Like she actually takes care of herself. Her parents seem very loving and supportive 🤘
She came with doubt but despite had a lot of positivity that she could pull through and lose the wait. She is a true inspiration. Have to give her family credit as well, because they also made the change along side her. She had the best support system she could get. These episodes always warm my heart.
OMG…this woman and her family made me smile so big! I don’t know her but I was so proud of her!! I was absolutely thrilled for her and them. This is such an appropriate time for a YOU GO GIRL!!! She made my eyes tear up and my heart warm and smile from ear to ear. I’d love an update cause she’s just the best person I’ve ever seen on this show as far as attitude and hard work and earning the life she wants. I cannot be the only one who got so excited for her. ❤
When she said that keeping a box of chocolates next to her bed disrespected the work she had done, I knew this girl was going to see success. She was doing it for herself, not someone else.
It's a lot easier when you have supportive parents, she did so good! I'm proud of her and her parents for having her back and actually investing in her health too
It’s so good to see one of his patients actually take personal responsibility for their situation and have the determination to fix it. I hope she sees it all the way through.
I really appreciate how she took responsibility, utilized the support her family provided, and made a genuine effort every day to leave her old habits and limiting body behind. She also was one of the few on the show who made a point to keep good hygiene while in such a restrictive body. Great example for those watching trying to make a change.
I had this surgery in January. Since then, I've hung up my cane, I can walk so much further without stopping, I'm not out of breath and changing my diet was the easiest thing. Down 90+lbs from my highest weight with 110 to go. I recommend this to anyone who has the mental fortitude to stick with it. The worst thing about it, literally, are the chewable multivitamin for the first 6 months.
Really like this lady and family, there was no bitching and moaning like most do in this program, shes taking it seriously and doing all the work she needed to do, i wish her nothing but the Best ❤ xXx
Great to see her do so well. She’s honest and did not deflect t from admitting her role into getting to this point. She’s going to do very well. She’s young and believes in herself. Good on Mum and Dad for supporting, encouraging and accepting and changing what they needed to as well. I’ve enjoyed watching her smile grow.
Proof that one of (if not THE most important) factor in successful weight loss and lifestyle change is the support from loved ones ❤❤ I love this so much. I’m so happy for her.
This is the first time watching these videos that I feel that is a wonderful family! Her dad is a good looking man, if her mom can lose the weight too I can see she is very pretty and their daughter will definitely be very beautiful when she loses the weight! I can see how not only they’re attractive, but really good people too! I’m so happy for her! She truly does have a beautiful heart and soul, and so do her parents.
One thing I was afraid of as a 300+ lbs man, was that exercising on an exercise ball would be dangerous and that there would be a high likelihood that it will burst under me. This video taught me to not fear that (4:40).
It's so nice to see someone who really wants this & understands that they have to put in the work bc it's not a situation where you can continue to eat what you want & just getting the surgery will save you like so many other patients!
A person addicted to food throwing out any unhealthy things in their pantry is like an opiate addict throwing out their last 2 bags of heroin. I cannot imagine how difficult that is. I give her all the credit in the world
That's not really an apt comparison because a heroin addict who throws out the last bag of heroin is in for about 2 or 3 weeks of absolute misery , anxiety, no sleep, body pain and extreme nausea , diarrhea and vomiting and then probably 6 months of trying to get your body temperature and mental state back to something like normal. The addictions are similar, yes, but stopping a heroin habit cold turkey is MUCH worse than changing your diet.
Exactly. I know he needs to be harsh, and he's dealt with a lot of crap patients, but he needs to tell his patients that actually work hard, that they did great, and that he's proud. They need to hear that. He definitely comes off as a little condescending, too sometimes.
He’s a man, not a woman his default especially in a profession like that where he’s seen intense stuff is not sweet random words …..his job is to save her life not make her feel butterflies.

2. Proud of her too. Someone that understood it would be hard but was willing to work at it.
Shows a difference when the family is supportive and do it together
As an obese person this story inspired me. This young lady has worked hard and got results. Luckily I’m not in need of bariatric surgery and am still at a point where I can reverse what I’ve done through activity and calorie reduction.
I will track my food consumption of the next 3 days and make the necessary adjustments to move forward.
How are you going? I believe in you!
@@weepingshadesofindigo575 it’s going good I weighed in this morning 4lbs lighter. I’m going to keep going.
@@jenshark4 How are you now? Best wishes!
@@bacul165 down 5 lbs. going to the gym and counting calories. It’s slow but headed in the right direction.
@@jenshark4 Slow and steady, that's the way! 👍
Awww! When she said “thank you daddy” as she got off the scale🥺♥️
Nikki is my favorite. I love her room, the quilts and artwork and hanging jewelry. There's a healthy element to her mind that reflects in her attitude and matching clothes.
Shes the only person on this show that has been honest about their eating habits and actually did the work! I love how supportive her family were too. I love this for her ❤
There has been a few that weren’t honest at the beginning but then jumped both feet into it. The twins for example.
Her families support was absolutely amazing. That’s definitely not typical on this show. This was a great episode!
I like her. She has determination and strength. I wish her all the best. She wants this badly, and her successes proved that.
So proud to see she is so committed and is proud of herself
Yeah
You from the UK ma'am?
She's very lucky to have such supportive and loving parents.
WOW! This was refreshing! She’s so positive and committed to changing 👏
And, no disrespect, for a big girl at 650 she looks very clean and she seems to walk well. Like she actually takes care of herself. Her parents seem very loving and supportive 🤘
How is she going now??❤
It seems to me, she is on the tall side. That helps some.
Even tho she obviously has a lot of power.
👍
@@tanjawesseling6283 how is she now? I don’t know. Now I’m kinda curious. Might have to see what I can find.
These are the people that make me so proud! Every time I see them lose weight, I jump up and shout for how happy I am for them!!
She came with doubt but despite had a lot of positivity that she could pull through and lose the wait. She is a true inspiration. Have to give her family credit as well, because they also made the change along side her. She had the best support system she could get. These episodes always warm my heart.
When his patients make the effort, Dr. Now seems to be so kind. Hope this lady continues to do well and kudos to her very supportive family.
Omg, I love this woman. She's so dedicated and driven! She definitely shows promise that she will reach her goal in no time. You go girl! Get it!!!❤
She is an amazing woman. Ive known her most of my life and im still astounded by all the weight she lost❤
That shows how important is to have a support system, everybody was helping her and she felt motivated.
It's a lot easier when you have supportive parents, she did so good! I'm proud of her and her parents for having her back and actually investing in her health too
This made my heart light up! I am so happy for her. I truly hope there is an update
I love how great and supportive her family was. I am so happy for her weightloss.
It’s so good to see one of his patients actually take personal responsibility for their situation and have the determination to fix it. I hope she sees it all the way through.
It’s always good to see someone who actually makes an effort in changing
She has the best smile. It lights up her whole face.
The thing I liked Nikki was that she was honest and that she owned it. She didn't blame anybody else. She took full responsibility.
Look at how fast she was alking after she lost that weighr. Go girl!!
I really appreciate how she took responsibility, utilized the support her family provided, and made a genuine effort every day to leave her old habits and limiting body behind. She also was one of the few on the show who made a point to keep good hygiene while in such a restrictive body. Great example for those watching trying to make a change.
She is truly a textbook sweetheart. A patient every doctor wants❤❤❤
It had to be chewable or was it a preference?
Really like this lady and family, there was no bitching and moaning like most do in this program, shes taking it seriously and doing all the work she needed to do, i wish her nothing but the Best ❤ xXx
Great to see her do so well. She’s honest and did not deflect t from admitting her role into getting to this point. She’s going to do very well. She’s young and believes in herself. Good on Mum and Dad for supporting, encouraging and accepting and changing what they needed to as well. I’ve enjoyed watching her smile grow.
I'm impressed that she could move that well at that weight. Imagine carrying around 650 pounds every step you take.
What a really nice woman who tried so hard. Love her!
One thing I was afraid of as a 300+ lbs man, was that exercising on an exercise ball would be dangerous and that there would be a high likelihood that it will burst under me. This video taught me to not fear that (4:40).
She seems like a wonderful woman, I hope she keeps going and gets healthy!
Her attitude, determination to succeed, and the support of her parents have made all the difference.
It's so nice to see someone who really wants this & understands that they have to put in the work bc it's not a situation where you can continue to eat what you want & just getting the surgery will save you like so many other patients!
Congratulations to someone who really wanted to change. Plus, I love her glasses.
Nice to see such a supportive family that is willing to make the changes and embrace them.
It’s really rewarding to see them being able to beat their food addiction the first time and her motivation was inspiring.
Nikki killed it! She did what she was supposed to, her family was incredibly supportive. Her beautiful smile and happiness and pride melts my heart.
I’m so impressed with her positive attitude!!!
Got to say shes the most mobile 600+pound person to be on this show
I noticed that too but maybe her motivation to lose the weight helped her be more mobile in spite of her size
@@brizzle3903 I think she must just have a fair amount of muscle on her
I think she's also pretty young, which helps. I think she's in her twenties.
@@orchadorkification other people her age or younger on the show were very immobile
@@orionash7067 Still, it helps to be young. She might have a healthier diet than they do, even with the massive caloric intake.
@@PlayerToBeNamedLater1973Also, unhealthy food is much more cheaply replaced than dope
Less talk, being humble and kind, and more actions. That’s the recipe of success and she has it! ⭐️
She looks like the sweetest person in the world. She's so pretty too. I only hope for the best for her💞
I remember seeing this sweet talented woman on my 600 lb life. She is the by far the best contestant on this show ❤Way to go Nikki!
The redheaded guy was great too
Nikki's determination and perseverance is inspiring! Incredible job
She has such a beautiful face and personality. She's going to be gorgeous once the weight drops
She’s gorgeous now! Her self confidence and determination shine through. ❤
Good for her! This is the definition of truly wanting it and putting hard work and dedication into it
Transformation is always possible. Keep up the work towards goals everyone ❤
It's beautiful that her family is so loving and wants to contribute to her better health
I pray this lady’s journey is successful in becoming healthy and taking her life back to never ending adventures! Great story!
GOOD for her. She gets it and takes it seriously!!
I was hoping when he saw she lost 112 lbs , he would say “I’m proud of you “ …. just once! He seems like the parent that says I’m proud internally
@@v1nigra3 thank you. People need to go somewhere else to get their ego massaged. This is life and death, and if hurting someone's feelings saves their life, grab a kleenex and go to work.
Asian parent vibes lol
I don’t know her but I’m so proud to see how hard she work to really accomplish her weight lost goals so good to see on this show for a change
