Hi Bryan and thanks for the input. Just a quick question, is this course manageable for students with non-cs background as their first course? I have taken this course this semester and I feel it might be too difficult, as I am not a coding professional :)
Hey that is tough, since I was already comfortable with Python and pandas+matplotlib. I do think it’s be manageable as a first course, just expect to spend an extra few hours on assignments
For machine learning courses, will prior knowledge in the math(linear algebra, calculus 1,2, statistics, pre-algebra) with no knowledge in frameworks (pandas, NumPy, scikit etc.) guarantee success in the course? i don't have a cs background(undergrad), and I'm currently self-studying before my fall semester resumption. I'm really trying to get good grades in this program. any advice would be welcome. My apologies for the lengthy post, and thanks a lot.
nothing is guaranteed, but i personally would say that you should have some python knowledge (if you don't have any exposure to the common python data science frameworks)
Yep, I'm taking CSE6242 (Data and Visual Analytics) this Fall semester, and then I will have to take CS 6515 (Intro to Graduate Algorithms) in the spring! Looking forward to finishing soon lol

@@bryan_truong noted, thanks alot!
Do you have any idea what classes you're taking for the rest of the program? I'm guessing you only need a fall and spring course to finish the program
