All i did was practice it with some of my characters to see if its actually that good. Also showed how to do it properly. Next big tourney is soon so we will see how much it changes.

While you guys are learning about slingshot, I learned how to actually short hop today after 2+ years of playing (two jump buttons) and it makes such a difference

I still don't know after 2 as well lol (other than just pressing it quickly but my hands can't move that fast consistently)
@@nicholas930 if you have a button set to jump, press just the edge of the button so your thumb slips off it. That's how I do 1-button
@@nicholas930 flick the jump button lightly, like when you want to get the short initial dash ( easier with tap jump turned off)

He can actually, it's just a much harder input. For most chars it's a 7 frame window, for rob it's 3 frames
i noticed rob didn't carry momentum the same as other characters recently but he stil can technically
that is actually insane! ultimate will most likely be hella different after pros start implementing and perfecting this

Seeing the Wario clips, even if just for a few minutes, gave me the vision of a world where Leo picked up Wario seriously. I would love to be a spectator in that world, but I'm not sure if I want to be a competitor in that world lol

As Leo is the God of Ultimate I wonder how many great things he will be able to do with his characters
As a Corrin main, I see that the side B can be basically used as a move that doesn't have to move you per se XD
Also feels way more fluid using a jump shoulder button on the right side as it's all one hand

If joker has bad out of shield and you argue it will be worse for characters with bad out of shield like joker, I would argue that it won’t actually matter that much since he had bad out of shield to begin with. Characters with bad out of shield have to develop a play style catering to a bad out of shield anyways.

It’s worse because it applies pressure to an area they’re already weak in. Out of shield options are the way to counter shield pressure, there’s nothing new he can do out of shield to make up for it, he still has the same tools he had before.
I mean I disagree, cause like this doesn't affect true/good oos options, just makes meh ones worse
It seems that espargo has been using the slingshot for a long time, his way of putting his back always seemed unreal to me.
im excited for this new mechanic, makes me wanna pick up ultimate again. It's genuinely gonna change the meta, for the better

It's true it's harder to do to the left! I find I have to concentrate on hitting jump after the stick starts traveling back to neutral way more than doing it to the right? I found it easier to do if you kinda ignore the dash part when thinking the move thru as that's natural movement
Are you right handed?
This is best for characters with really long range on their aerials/specials or good air momentum.
Or lucas who benefits literally off of every part of slingshot in every part of his gameplan 😱

Yo Ultimate will change for REAL. I can't wait for tier lists to change. Corrin, Zelda, and Marth can get way more consistent tippers and have more fluid movement. Excellent for me because I play all 3 >:)

Edit, well it's easier than expected, I can do the flickshot like once out 3-4 try (so not consistant yet but I understood the basis) in a few minutes, just to learn to pull it each time and how to follow up

From what I’ve read, they aren’t going to be able to do anything, even if they wanted to. I believe it’s a top comment on the official video of slingshot on Gimr, but for them to change this, it would require a total reworking of the game’s mechanics. If that’s true, Nintendo is out of luck. No way they would do that for a 3+ year old game. If they did, I would be floored

This is definitely useful for other characters though that can utilize the momentum swings from it.
And to anyone saying this is just a irar, where is your hurtbox shift in your irar? Huh? Exactly, it's not the same. (irars are also not very reliable at top-level play, if you fuck up you might die)

I like how ROB doesnt get much benefit from this. Hes the easiest easy mode character in the game and his nair is already unpunishable by 95% of the cast. He doesnt need more tools.
A rob player on Twitter posted a video showing that rob can do it but the inputs are slightly different

why does everyone say it's harder to do it left? I do it with a darn near 100% consistency going left and drop it when I try to go right. Am I just weird?
Also Marth jumped like a whole arse tier. His fair into slingshot fair is literally unpunishable (except against a few characters with absurd ground speed like Sonic).
I also have a hard time doing it to the right. Im alot more consistent doing it to the left aswell.
me and one of my friends messed with the slingshot and when we got to play each other on wifi he was doing flickshot with palu fair and I couldn't get in and I was playing sephiroth too

Except Kazuya has frame 7 crouch, so it doesn't work except in very specific circumstances
