I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the teacher bringing his students to learn so that they can build a building at their school!!!!! How freaking awesome is that? Love you guys, your work ethic and your humor. Hope to someday come to one of your workshops!

@@tammy8050 yes please! The red headed boy, Gabriel is my son. They have raised half of the money needed for their project, but it ends soon. On the 15th I believe!
He was soooo influenced by this project and is excited to share what he learned with anyone who will listen!
The school they attend is very different than any other around here. It has made the BIGGEST difference in my son's life!
Mr. Curtiss went above and beyond to take them hours away, so they can learn hands on! Him pouring into the kids lives is just wonderful and goes to show his dedication to his students.

That was so much fun, if a bit tiring. The old adage that many hands make for light work really shone that week. I'm ready to do it again

I can see a home being built. It's amazing and I'm proud to be a voyeur in its process. I'm 74 and I don't think I would be able to do it myself, but I would if younger. You and your family are an inspiration for the future of our world. Thank you for letting me be a part of it God bless.

I've just retired, and having spent nearly 30 years training people (all to do with working at height), I have to say what amazing trainers you guys are. Clear instructions, demonstrations then step back and give them space to 'get stuck in' with a little help along the way. You guys rock at pretty well every level. And your kids are a massive testament to that. Can't wait to see your round house finished :)

Years ago I subscribed to My Little Homestead and watched all their children grow up and get married. So glad in one of their videos they introduced Tiny Shiny Home and I've watched, liked, commented and shared ever since the beginning of building the solar shed. Now it's wonderful to have witnessed the growth of the Tiny Shiny channel, homestead and children. I'm proud to be part of The Tiny Shiny family and community, this community is down to earth a very caring and sharing community. Thank you Tiny Shiny Community for helping our Tiny Shiny Family build their family home, y'all are so lucky to be able to attend the workshop. I would of loved to of gone to the workshop with gifts to meet the family and friends, feed and play with all the animals, help Ashley with the cooking and cleaning, etc. For sometime now my thoughts are, I'd love to be able to do an earthbag building project in my community with and for the youth, of course Tiny Shiny Home would be the first I'd contact for help, references, advice, development and coordination purposes.😊

First time ever I deliberately listened all the way through for a sponsor. I bought Volm for my Santa Fe Mission style off-grid and used ya'll as affiliate last year. Been real happy with the product. Way easier than earth bags - no barb wire and its stucco ready from the git-go.

I woke up around 4:30 this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep so I looked at my tablet and saw you had uploaded this video. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the video. The music was fabulous. After watching the entire episode, I fell back to sleep and for the next two hours I got to “work” with you, Ashley and the rest of the group building your house. I had a great time, enjoyed the wonderful food and made some great friends. Then, I woke up and realized my adventure was just a dream. Hopefully, someday I will get to do it for real!😂

It is amazing to see the interest in building an earthen home. To be off grid. Ya'll make it look easy, but I know a lot of blood sweat, and tears have been shed. I really hope to see an update on the school project. That is incredible, to see real educators sharing knowledge. Plus, the attendees got to see and learn so much. construction hammer blows sometimes hit close to a finger nail which sometimes will turn dark and the nail will fall off or gradually grow back out fresh and clean, in either case do not upset the cuticle if the nail does turn dark, you should heal whether it ejects the damaged nail or it grows back fresh and clean... if it stays in just trim the ends of the nail as it grows out.... And WOW what a wonderful group effort, the video was SO fun to watch.....

Fantastic! What an awesome bunch of friends you've made! Congrats on the progress you've made, may it continue to inspire you! Loved seeing the teacher and his students there, you go kids!!! Perhaps, just perhaps, you could have workers volunteer to come spend some time with you and give a hand for the experience or maybe as a service project? Maybe if they were self contained or stayed in town? Especially if they had expertise in other areas they could share with you other than laying bags. Your homestead has many different facets of labor intensive, book knowledge projects that you would be grateful for having help with. So happy for the zest this workshop has instilled in your family! Keep up the great work, we'll keep watching and cheering you on! Hugs from Michigan. brrrrr!

Ashley & Jonathan: this was an excellent video! While not part of the class; we as viewers became a part of the happenings! However, it made me realize I’ve not seen your children up on the bags in a while. I can presume one was video taping, I know the older son was making pizzas, and we saw the girls on their horses. Perhaps they were all working at one point during this workshop either with the animals (as normal) on school work (as normal) at the coffee shop ( as normal) or were among the many hands and feet that worked on the round house during these 7 days. As they have spent years learning along side of you two, I hope they have the opportunity to help build the school Fly-shed project. It would be awesome to know they could teach or advise the other children on that project. I’m sure there are complaints and discussions behind the scenes that we do not see. But they have learned and grown in life skills in ways “city kids” (and most suburban children) do not have the opportunity to experience.
    You all rock!!!!!!! 🎉

Kids were running all the food behind the scenes and filming for us during the workshop. They do this all the time, no need to make them do it with so many extra hands 😂

@ 😍😎💞. I was complimenting you all… no criticism intended!
(Ok, I stuck a suggestion in too.)
However, I’m well aware that Your children work hard- and have for years- they have so many life skills most adults don’t have!!
It really brings joy to my heart to see the way the pitch in-With suggestions as well as labor!

Just think if you did 3 or 4 of these workshops, how far along, would you be then, or would it be too expensive to do? Would save alot of time for you folks. Just a thought. Love the videos and the learning experience via, you tube university :) Thanks!

We'll probably do more, but are very limited by weather. Fall and Spring are the only times we could do them. Can only handle on per season.

I live in SW Florida. One day I'll have the time to come for a workshop. Just to meet you guys and experience doing it!
If I was in my 20's this is the route I would've taken if I'd known it existed back then!
