Can you imagine what your life will be like when everything is built, and all you have to do is live there and tend your animals and garden? That day is getting closer!
I gotta hand it to you guys... I mean, this huge house is full of lots of repetitive work and it all seems to take forever - but you are sticking to it... finding ways to make it interesting... and sharing your progress with us pretty often. I really can't wait to see what this is going to look like... what it's going to feel like... when you get it all done.
Hey tiny shines home family, loving the progress. Removing those braces made things look less congested. Take care of yourselves, rest up and recharge.
You folks are so amazing. I really admire your fortitude. I think your feline overlords approve too even though they seem to micro manage your efforts 😅😊 Lotsa love from our small holding in South Africa
Ashley, I trust you & your vision because history has proven that you are the artist. 💜 Your materials vary from conventional artists; but your creations are 3D. Multi dimensions require unique creative vision. Your home will reflect your unique vision. ✨
The temps certainly dipped in Southern Arizona. I’ve woken up to 29 degrees at my house in Tucson for a few mornings this week in Tucson. Have had some strong winds blowing, too. Yesterday, temps climbed to about 70 degrees, so we’re now in a Fire Danger warning through the weekend. I’m hoping for rain.
Dont push yourselves too hard. If your body is not allowed to rest enough, or has to work too hard after an illness, you can wreck your health for good. Talking from experience here. And your house is growing rapidly now! 🐐
This will be one of the greatest design and builds by humans in this type environment anywhere. Totally impressive. Have you calculated how many courses is needed to complete? The 12 courses so far are completely perfect to the naked eye. Congratulations
@@TinyShinyHome , sorry I missed this Q&A video before. You surely answered my questions. Thank you as you truly are inspirational. Your skills are so much more than engineering and building as well, as the creative side is off the charts with yes the editing, music and uniqueness in your content. We live on a ski resort in Northern Utah and with 5 ft of snow on the ground my garden planning is what I envision during the winter months. I’m so excited for you guys to eventually get to that phase of your property. You are truly mastering this masterpiece of a build.
A thought just popped into my head... Thinking about the fires in LA, I would imagine that a home built out of earth bags, would it still be standing, minus the roof of course 🤔 Can't remember if you ever touched on how these earth bag homes hold up to fire. Anyway.... house is coming along great! I get more, and more excited with each video. Glad you're starting to feel better. Love y'all ❣️
I don't get to watch every episode so this progress is so amazing👍. The tamping is so precise, I can only imagine how nicely the walls will finish. I commend you on the build 🏆. Those Jackery units are pretty impressive. Thank you for sharing.
I'm very sorry you've been under the weather. It's the time of year where, in this part of the world, I sort of feel like I'm hybernating. And yet, look at you! Go, Tiny-Shiny-Home! You're half-way up. It must be quite a feeling! I hope the light at the end of the tunnel is a little brighter now. Seeing you've put out a new video always puts a smile on my face! TY4 making these videos!!!!!
You all will feel better real soon and the house will come together like it is already. Don't forget that tractor should be coming here soon hopefully my Valentine's Day
Hiiiii Friends!!! This is SO MUCH fun to be a part of!! Rooting for your success and loving all the hard work you do!! I go on and on about your channel to anyone who will listen!! SUPER INSPIRED!!:)
The home is looking really great! Sorry you're sick, and hope everyone gets well soon. The landscape videography is just stunning, thanks so much for sharing the beautiful mountains and desert with us. You all do such a good job with planning your videos and the actual photography, great talent!
I hope you all get well soon. Ashley, I know you are a fan of circles, but I really love those arched niches. Well, I'm sure they will all look really cool when the house is finished. You guys are amazing! I love how perfectly flat and even the walls are after you tamp them. I'm sure if I were building with this method, it would all be very lumpy and wonky. 😊
👋😇👍Making good progress, everyone, teamwork. You said nine days a course: and there's approximately 6 courses; 9×6=54 day's, so roughly March 20th, you be at lintel height. Have a great week, and count your blessings. 👌✌️🇺🇲🙏
I know this is a little late, but you could've used a "hugger band" it's used to connect csp's (corrugated steel pipe) to make longer, they come in different diameters. However, the bolt holes are welded on the outside, which could be re-welded onto inside. That way, you can easily undo bolts and "collapse" the band. 😊
In construction we use a heavy club hammer to remove steel bars, one hard strike to the side near the top and then another at 90 degrees. It should just pull out !
9th day! Thank you! I was just telling my Rick it seems to have taken an entire month to get it done! But with everyone sick it hasn’t taken as long as it feels. Hope you get your energy back soon! Everything looks so good!
Good morning crew. Coffee and tiny shiny. Glad you're feeling better. What ever is going around hit over hill two weeks ago and Hill klan is finally back to normal. All the best.
All of that STAGING for each phase of the Project is so important.... You get SO much done each video.... Anyone who has done Construction can appreciate your Family efforts as Construction Projects take way more time to DO RIGHT than less well thought out ones do.... Even the details such as store runs can be the most important task of the day, and of course RESTING when you are getting over something that everyone from Canada to Mexico caught this Winter.... Even Your Kitty was acting as a Supervisor on top of the roll of bags 😊... The open view of the Kids room space looks awesome now that you cleared the rebar from the floor....
Ashley. I trust your vision, also I might say you might start thinking about creative ways to repurpose those forms afterwards, they are so cool. Plant stands, take a few boards out to make cat house's/ end table's / nightstand.
Glad everyone is feeling better. Take your time. Working in the cold, it is way easy to get hurt. Go slow, be safe. Ashley, you design all sorts of cool stuff. It will look great.
I like how you have a vision of what your house should look like and are so meticulous in your attention to détails. I know your house will be fabulous. Looking forward seeing it all finished.
This is an interesting turn. But it’s all about letting in as much light as you can.I take it this is for your bottles. You make things so hard for yourself, but they look so beautiful when they are done. And these houses have to have bottle art windows in them lol!. Hope you’re all feeling better soon.Sending my love as usual.🥰
Is your vision that sunlight shining through outer windows falls on interior niches and those light up bottles to bring in colors and light further inside?
You get so much done even when you don't feel so good. I look forward to seeing how those niches work out that you are framing. Hope you feel better soon!
0:37 2x4 BRACE modification SUGGESTION: It seems you could use some wood scraps to connect to the 2x4 brace and make it so it can just be set into place and lifted out. And not have to screw them in and out every time you want to use that opening.
For those round windows if you made a ply square box to be at least 6” wider than the diameter , cut in half if to heavy, add some steel reinforcement then fill with concrete you will have your window frame. No wording about rust, could even add rebates to help seal up to the glass. Half’s I would have dowels to hold together and exposed parts to help hold to your bags, even rebate concrete to fit an opening window. Thanks for all your uploads.
I really enjoy watching you guys. The camaraderie between the family is very sweet. I’m sorry you still have one under the weather. Looking at the scenery behind you as you panned around in different positions, makes me wonder exactly where you are. I would love to be able to come over and see your project as a widow 78 years old and by myself I’m not going to try to attempt something like that , but it looks very interesting.
Loving all the beautifully composed B roll video! Farm Duck at 4:49...was that mini dino at the end? Anything Ashley designs will be awesome...can't wait to see it all come together!
Ashley, I think I see your vision and it’s inspired! If the round niches are going to be bottle bricks, what are you going to use for the arches? More bottle bricks or something totally new and different? I can see you putting potted plants in the niches to keep the inside of your home green and lush even in the winter.
You can always cut down the middle on both sides. Take, take it out, get you a strip of metal and screw to it and make it into a flyer bed later. That way, you're not wasting your circle, or you can use it to make something else. Oh another window or whatever later
I saw some of your videos years ago. I don't know why, but I always though you were Ausies. Getting sunburn in freezing desert. Never expected or experience that. Good luck with your project. ❤
The next time you have to pull those pins, get your pie branch on it. Get your 2 before stick under it and pry. Up on one side right up close to the the pin that you drove down. And not only would the person that has the pipe ranch have leverage on that the one that filmed the two before would have more leverage and pulling it up.And it'll be a lot easier and you won't string
@@TinyShinyHomeMaybe a car jack with a chain wrapped around the pipe? That’s how we pulled metal fence posts out before I got my tractor. There is a technique to wrapping the chain though that I can’t remember.
After you finish with the forms in the house you can make Ottomans with the circle forms that you made and you can make a wine wine Shelf with the half circles
Niche alignment has this looking like a stone henge project. Hope everyone feels better soon. Incredible progress so far. Lots to be proud of…especially those kids. ;)

It can't carry big loads but should be no problem for the amount y'all use per scoop. And then...lol...y'all inspire my imagination...I wondered if a tamper with hinged "wings", (that can be locked in the "up" position), would be able to tamp down and the sides at the same time. Keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing the journey with us!

It doesn't do that in the A/B mix unfortunately. Also, it usually bends the stake which makes it less usable in the future. This worked great!

Sure, but not worth a 2-3 hour round trip to the store when the pipe wrench worked surprisingly well. It's not like we pull up stakes that often 😂

Add handles to the round wood windows
Your idea reminds me of the way the Japanese make windows within rooms to bring the outside and natural light within.
