    Man for the price this is a awesome tool... my wife recently bought me the 10$ ozark trail multi tool... and it's not as bad as you would think...

    I bought a 180 dollar leatherman last year and returned it because I didn’t like the bit extender system and thin bits and the sub-par scissors
    This is just as well built and has the same locking mechanism, and the scissors are even slightly better and the bit driver is full size with an awesome extension included.
    I am in shock. Obviously the blade steel is a little less premium, but this is a huge value for the money. Finally found a good multitool with excellent value for money that isn’t chintzy garbage.

    I just saw this yesterday and immediately saw it was inspired. Didn't have enough to grab it but def will soon. I'm blown away by how well they improved on a proven design. 😉

    This is a pretty impressive tool, especially for the price. The bit driver and extension beat anything that Leatherman produces. The sheath is way too bulky for EDC, but I like that you can just slip it over your belt. I don't pocket carry any of my multitools, except for a Swiss Army knife, so the pocket clip has to go. The can opener is badly in need of sharpening. Overall, it's the best pliers-based multitool you're going to find for under $40.

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well...it's bit better than a leatherman on quality...just putting it out there, but is significantly better than other tools for the price and even better than a Gerber on quality IMO. It's significantly better than the wingman/sidekick on quality...I'll say that at least

    The Multiforce is a surprising well built MT. It is heavier because the tools are slightly thicker. The pliers pivots are flush ground, compared with the raised center part on the Wave. The scissors are awesome cutters, somewhat stiffer springiness do to the fixed spring position, they are thicker and cannot fit in the wave.

    For some reason I can't put a finger on, I actually prefer this tool to my Wave. Just seems a bit beefier and sturdier...

      How do u have a s30 blade on ur wave? Is that a mod or factory? I have a tti and though that was the only tool with a s30 blade, thanks.

    • @dingdongmcnugget
      @dingdongmcnugget 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bruh, they can't even come up with their own designs. And the wave is just higher quality overall.

    • @imanassole9421
      @imanassole9421 ปีที่แล้ว

      The scissors are actually better from what I hear.. a small issue I had with mine is the diamond file rubs the side of it's slot, so I had to bend it to make it stop. Other than the replacement teeth on the wave plus, there's no reason to pay more money for the same tool. Yeah you get a "Lifetime" warranty (which I'm sure has conditions.. and the steel may be slightly higher quality (I can't really say yet) I love mine. Prime for modding too.

  • @TangomanX2008

    Wow, this is an interesting product. I blew my money on a Surge, Wave, and Spiritool X, so I'm out of the market for this type of mulittool, but if I were buying a multitool again, I would certainly get this Multiforce. If I were Leatherman I would be a little nervous right now. It seems like their "Free" Series aren't their flagship multitool they were hoping it would be (or hyped as), and here we have Ozark trail with a Multitool that is at worst 90 percent of what the Wave+ is for less than 60 percent of the price (or less than 40 percent of the Skeletool or 30 pecent of the Wingman).
    If Leatherman isn't careful they are going to turn into the Harvey Davidson of Multitools, a brand that sells overpriced products of inferior quality because of the name it made for itself during its heyday. Hopefully Leatherman can turn this around but this Ozark Multiforce tool is a bad omen for them.

    Is the magnet in your bit extender really weak? That and their choice of the ball in the bits kind of sucks but I’m happy with the tool. Really impressive for the price.

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not just weak, it doesn’t work at all because the way they cut it doesn’t allow the magnet to contact a bit. You need to instal another magnet to really get full function out of it. The nice part is that once you do, it will also accept Leatherman bits.

    • @DNMEBOY
      @DNMEBOY 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maxlvledc My magnet works. It will hold the bit in the extender if I turn it upside down and it also holds my Leatherman bits fine. If I give it a shake the bits will fall out though. Everyone on TH-cam has said the same as you though. The magnet doesn’t work.

  • @250rapid
    @250rapid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the review, looking forward to your modifications video. I think the Multiforce is a very big step above any other Ozark Trail multi-tool Walmart has ever sold, since it was inspired by, and based on the Leatherman Wave platform, but a bit too expensive at $40, it will sell very well if they price it at $20. Just waiting for them to go on sale at WalMart stores during the Holidays, Ozark Trail products always do (or maybe not) but if they do go on sale, I will probably purchase one or two and give as a gift.
    I agree about the nice smooth shape and round edges of the handles, they don't dig in your hands and the scissors are much better than the Wave. Also like the full ¼ inch hex bit driver, I guess Leatherman use their own design flat drivers for the only reason of selling their silly looking flat bits separately.

    • @DNMEBOY
      @DNMEBOY 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rien que la vérité The cheapest comparable tool from other companies is well above $40. This is well worth $40 so far. No issues with mine at all so far aside from the weak magnet in the bit extender.

    It's a pretty good tool, especially for $40. The pliers and scissors are better than the Wave's. The can opener needs some work to make it serviceable. The diamond file.probably won't hold up very long. The bit exchanger is just about worthless. Yeah, it will hold any 1/4" driver, but without a magnet, the bit will just fall out. All that said, it's still the best value of any multitool on the planet.

    What’s the warranty like

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I assume standard manufacturer defect warranty. Nothing special. The Leatherman warranty is easily worth 1/4 the price of a tool. But even then this is basically half as much with similar or better functions in some cases.

    • @shroomsrus5116
      @shroomsrus5116 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maxlvledc for me leatherman warranty far surpasses the price as I’ve replaced multiple tools multiple times

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shroomsrus5116 definitely true statement, their warranty is amazing. However this is a reasonable option, and with better scissors, a full 1/4 inch driver, and better ergonomics, it's still a viable option for people, especially a first tool

    Bottom line: this is cheap china junk. Don't bother with it unless you are strapped for cash and really want a multitool that bad. Having to rely on the workmanship of a multitool can be frustrating. You'd be better off buying the individual tools you need from a garage sale, limiting your purchases to quality items.
