CLUTCH INFO: The zf320 5 speed comes in the e36 328 and m3, as well as the e46 328 and 330. The Getrag 5 speed is found in e36/e46 323 and 325.

This is the best video bros!!! I have a f10 550i, I’m swapping an Lt1 6.2 from a camaro. Your video showed where to get the trans adapter, the pros and cons... the only thing I have to find now, is how to use the LT1 and still use the adaptive suspension, and/or marry the Chevy and bmw pcm together

Could I ask a favor? I'm looking at using the same adapter with an LS in my e30. I was wondering with where yours sits could you give me a measurement from the rear of the front subframe to the back of the engine where the adapter meets the block? I'm wanting to know with standard sway bar removed if I can fit the gm performance rear sump pan is all. Thanks if you can. Btw your welding skills aren't trash form the later videos I watched. Looked better than most of my friend's welds that say they can weld by far 🤫

Hey boss, you mentioned a certain starter needed. Do you remember what it was? I bought my kit used
Check the PMC motorsports adapter website. Tells you exactly which starter to get .
also change your crank pulley to camaro and run camaro accessories
From what vehicle did the LS come from, idk much about bald eagle engines👀 if anything, but are all LS engines the same

Did the factory zf crossmember bolt straight up with those mounts?
Yes. The e30 trans mounting on the chasis is on a rail
Just slid the mount all the way back.
Also, out of curiosity -- did you consider the CD009, and did you run into any major reasons not to use it in your swap aside from cost?
Divided Being Motorsports I’ve considered cd009 but I didn’t want to modify my trans tunnel. Since I already had the zf trans from my m52 swap i decided to keep the trans. It’ll hold the power, no need to spend extra

Steve F I used the oem mount ! There’s a rail that’s adjustable on your e30. For the trans mounts. Mine is pushed all the way back maxed out
How many ooga doogas were on the adaptor plate bolts? Or what was the torque spec?

It's e46 m3 pressure plate and clutch matched to trans you use for anyone seeing this later

I have custom mounts that are 1 off. Join the BMW LS group on Facebook to get some info on mounts. I’ve heard bad stuff on Cx racing mounts and skikky is over priced imo
Is the zf a getrag 260 or can that adapter fit the 260 transmission
Zf is zf. The adapter will fit some get drags

the chasis? mine is a 318i dont think that matters. i would recommend using a zf trans over get drag

Can you use any version of the zf 5 speed ?
I believe so. The bell housing for all 5 speeds are the same. They have to be from a v6. V8 Zf’s will not work

Unfortunately no. ZF trans hold much more power.
A 5 speed getrag transmission explodes with M52 Stock power

Hey if you notice any vibrations on the first drive from the bellhousing area that changes between clutch engagements it may be due to not having the two large dowels on the back of the LS. I just noticed this after watching this video for the 5th time as I'll be buying the same adapter for mine soon. Hopefully you'll be fine and the engine plate is centered with just the bolts. Btw there should be two hollow dowels on the ZF trans and the one small solid dowel over where the original BMW starter went but the two you have are almost 180 from each other so you'll be fine there. I left the hollow ones in the M54 I pulled my ZF from and had to go back to the yard to get them, ooops… Give me a follow back @M85suchka on the gram, I've been posting up a little on my LS E30 parts collecting and engine build so far. 1 year later is your trans still good?
Yup. Check my recent video. Just did another track day. ZERO ISSUES. 100% you need a reinforced rear end and a secondary diff mount. Have a video for all of that if you check out my page 🤘

What LS engine do most people swap into thier e30's? Is it just called "LS" or is it an LS(insert number)?
What rpm cruising is 5th gear at 60?
Under 3k using a 2.93 diff
I think it sits at 2.5k rpm
Don’t like using any other radio. Wayyyy to short for the torque
