If all we had to do, is watch brown bear and sea otters all day...this world would be a better place. Great fun in Alaska. Happy for you Shawn. You earned it. And earn it still. I thank you Shawn. Spreading the word...to watch both of the TH-cam channels. Love them here in Wisconsin.

Being an early riser has its benefits, such as exploring the town, harbor and rushing streams, while the rest of the populace is asleep. When you were exploring the shallow river with all the sandbars, I kept expecting to see a bear pop out of the brush for an early morning breakfast of salmon. Beauty of a salmon, all red in preparation for fertilizing the next generation, and then death. All in the scheme of life in nature at its rawest. I did notice that the guide carried a short barreled brush rifle, following the narrow paths where bears roam at will. Stay safe.

What a beautiful place. I know someone who had a grand adventure to Alaska last year. I think the place changes anyone who spends time there. Thank you for the gift.

My parents used to always rent cabins in Colorado. Many a morning I could remember getting up and before the trip to the outhouse I'd see my parents already fishing. About 8 A M my mom would come back to the cabin and fire up the wood cook stove and prepare breakfast. She even baked a cake in its oven once. Really brings back fond memories. Your videos of Alaska brought all that back. I got to get up there sometime. I never saw all that wildlife in Colorado. Not even a half as much. Next year... Take care and be safe. Vaughn

How utterly jaw dropping Sir, to travel along with you on this epic adventure. Applauding your God-given gifts that allow you to share all that nature has to offer and more. I've been salmon fishing when they're heading up stream to spawn but that was in South Island of New Zealand ... the land of my birth. Now I'm enthralled with your Candanian/Alaskan adventures and expeditions from my home in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia; home now for 45 yrs. For someone who will NEVER get to travel again ,let al be explore , your You Tube videos are my constant companion. Looking forward to the rest of your Alaskan Adventures, stay safe and film your heart out Shaun. THANK YOU, your wife(she must be so proud of you & patient) , and these guys you're travelling with... blessings and peace out 😃🇦🇺

Most bears don't attack unless you surprise them or they have cubs. Sometimes Grizzlies may spot you and then circle back and come upon you from the back, if they are hungry. We Alaskans carry guns that will easily kill a grizz or black bear, so no worries. That Kaladi coffee is my favorite. That wasn't all fog. We had many forest fires burning around Alaska this summer. Great video Shawn.

I've been telling Alicia for years, probably since we met, that I'm drawn to the sea. Those shots at the beginning with the boats were my favourite.
A few years ago we rented a sailboat in St. Vincent and sailed the islands for a week. Best vacation ever. We want to do it again in the next year or two. Being on a rolling sailboat as the swells come in from the Atlantic is thrilling.

We rented a car and got lost on purpose even if you are not a hunting and fishing kind of person(I am not- but I do like to eat them) there is so much to do. Pan for gold hike some great trails. How do you do this? I know a lot of others have said this, too, but I really feel like I was hiking that trail where the bears are known to be, and fishing for sockeye--I admire the gentle way you release them. They've fought their way to that place, and deserve some gentle respect. Oh wow, that last shot of the brown bear (we call them grizzly bears, which can be a whole lot more temperamental than black bears)....that made me nervous! You can calm, soothe, excite, awe, so many emotions with your camera and the shots you choose. I admire you, Sir.

Wonderful footage .... yep .... if you can walk there, a bear definitely can. I remember a deep canyon in Utah that I had fished far back into. I ended up going up the wall on a precarious trail at best. Many years later I thought about that "trail" and how me being able to crawl out of the canyon there meant that so could the mountain lions that inhabit that area .... I could imagine one saying to itself .... here comes lunch ~8^) The other thing I discovered was that it starts getting dark earlier down in those narrow places heh heh. Take care .... looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventure.

Tip when fishing for salmon in water running that fast, coho fly on the end of a minimum of 20lb leader and 16" up use split shot lead weight abot 3/8 oz minimum to keep the fly on the bottom. The big reds you caught right at the end of this clip are spawned out and no good to eat. I never keep any salmon thats not bright silver. If they have any color but silver they are not too good to eat. I guided fishing on the Kenai peninsula for many years. There are 20 plus pound Rainbows all over where you were fishing. Can get you on those as well. Also have Steelhead in the kasilof River just South of the Kenai river on down towards Homer. Love you were filming in my back yard.
