We should thank the United Arab Emirate for allowing this beautiful worship service, our Mass, in their country.. We believe that Mary, Jesus Christ's mother, stood under the cross as her Son died along with Apostle John. Holy Mary would have recognized her own Son and John the "Beloved Apostle" would have recognized Jesus, also, not an imposter. They would have heard Him pray the 22nd Psalm and speak to the good thief who was dying, too. They would have recognized Jesus's voice. At the crucifixion is when Jesus told Mary that she was to treat John as her Son and vice versa. She then lived with John. Their home in Ephasis, Turkey is still honored by Muslims and Christians alike. The Catholic Church still has some relics of the crucifixion including the plaque commissioned by Pilate. Joseph of Arimathea would not have donated his new tomb and expensive material for a shroud for an imposter. He gave these gifts for a man he considered to be a holy man of God, Jesus of Nazareth at His death. The burial clothes, the shroud and face cloth, were kept and hidden. The face cloth went to Spain and the shroud was given to people to take to Europe in the 1100's. GBY Peace!
Now this gives me goosebumps even though it's 2024. Just beautifully sung. Those who are in 2024, I will just type the lyrics soon. (1) Longing for light, we wait in darkness. Longing for truth, we turn to you. Make us your own, your holy people. Light for the world to see. (2) Longing for peace, our world is troubled. Longing for hope, many despair. Your word alone has power to save us. Make us your living voice. (3) Longing for food, many are hungry. Longing for water, many still thirst. Make us your bread, broken for others, shared until all are fed. (4) Longing for shelter, many are homless. Longing for warmth, many are cold. Make us your building, sheltering others. Walls made of living stone. (5) Many the gifts, many the people, many the hearts that yearn to belong. Let us be servants to one another, making your kingdom come. Ref. Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts, shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church, gathered today!
Most suitable song for this Eucharistic celebration. 😍 listened to this song 100 times still i feel goosbumps. "CHRIST BE OUR LIGHT - A CRY OF A FLOCK"
Longing for peace, our world is troubled... Your word alone has come to save us... Longing for food many are hungry, Longing for water, many still thirst Make us your bread, broken for others, Shared until all are fed...
so beautiful to see all nations worshipping the true God in union. Lets be servents for one another and our world will be in peace. my heart breaks each time poeple are killied in war. 🥺
I live in Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately when His Holiness had come, I was back home . I remember watching this on TV. The Choir was a masterpiece. Everytime I hear this song, I get a feeling I can never describe. It has since become one of my favorite Hymns ❤️
@@alexdabonor3023 i beg to differ, most of the crowd gathered are Malayali St. Thomas Christians of India from the state of Kerala that make up a huge portion of the UAE population in general. The choir is an exception with Filipinos who've done a wonderful job. Love from India
Praise God that they are singing such a powerful song, as a Christian it is so heartening for they are the essence of what we Christians would also sing. May God bless all those attending and so good to see the large cross empty, as He has risen and lives for us to walk with Him daily. 💖
And you think because we have the traditional crucifix we deny the resurrection? any way an empty cross is not the symbol of the resurrection an empty tomb is. We have the crucifix because what happened on the cross is what saves us , the sacrifice Our lord made for us in His infinite love. When we look upon a crucifix we are looking with gratitude at what Our lord did for us. Are you ashamed to look upon the cross of Calvary? the cross of Calvary is a victory not a defeat . God bless you too.
Fantastic celebration !!!!! but one question, Why is the pope and all the priests wearing shoes all the time during mass???? I am a Hindu and when we enter Temple or pray we open our shoes and become bare feet same goes with Muslims also, I have seen them offering Namaz without wearing shoes. can someone please explain???
Its because in Western tradition its ok to wear shoes inside churches. Ladies typically wear hats too... But in India we do not wear footwear inside Churches and women should cover their heads with saree or a head scarf.

Thank God for your blessings so that I had participated in this Papal Mass at Abudhabi in 2019 with my wife...
Most of the choir members appear to be Filipinos, and those attending the mass. Bless the Pope and the Mother Church!
The Philippinos make up 80% of the UAE catholic population.
