I am glad you are presenting this video, as a Chinese from a different country it is highly respected that you have made every effort to explore culture. You are not only able to speak Mandarin fluently, but also have the support from your parents that really builds your self esteem through encouragement and education. I did not have this privilege in my younger years and am happy to see that the future generation is supporting their children in every positive way. Bless your parents to have such an open mind and relationship with you, I was not as fortunate because of the generation gap. I will say that the sons, daughters and any future generation is getting the same support now as you do from your parents and also your friends. The mindset from the older generation, which is me has changed and I see it exactly like your parents do.
Blondie & Parents, I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your being open to and exploring Chinese food as best you can during these times. As a Chinese person raised outside of China, this channel has been a wonderful way to explore China & Chinese regional cuisines which are pretty much non-existent in Western countries. I appreciate the efforts to identify, explain, and cook them. Along with the explanations that define and highlight certain regional cuisines. Thank you for sharing them!
Your videos have this lovely vibe I am so involved in them. I am in Xi'an now I will go to local restaurants and ask for Chongqing Xiao Main. Love from a Pakistani living in China!
Amy I love you so much! You sparked my love and interest for China and Shenzhen and I am learning Chinese very well now! I have also made many native Chinese friends who help me learn about the culture and I often speak to them about your videos! Actually your videos always brightened my mood when I was in high school and stressed or upset! Thank you so much for making these videos they mean so much to me! Your bright and positive personality and smile is so infectious!💗💗💗 I love you!!
This comment makes me so happy!!!! Absolutely means the world to me to know I can put a smile on your face and that my videos are making a positive impact! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ sending you lots of virtual hugs!
When Anthony Bourdain visited China couple years ago, he said, “you stay in China for five years and only scratch the surface of its food culture.” Miss his TV show: No Reservation. 😢😢😢
I would 100% agree with that statement! The more dishes I try, the more I realise I have to still discover and understand about the various cuisines of China!
@@BlondieinChina You will probably need more than a lifetime to consume all the food that China has to offer. :) To put it in perspective, about 30 years ago, I browsed thru a cookbook on Chinese cuisine written by a western lady and in her preface, she mentioned that there were (at that point of time) at least 80,000 dishes. Over 3 decades or so, the number obviously must have exceeded 100,000. Depending on the number of dishes you try a day, it will take you long long time to try them all. You do your math.
Amy I have been following your channel for nearly one year. I am so impressed for what you have done to your audience and also being an active media in between China & Australia. Thumbs up 👍🏻 BTW. I also like your dad. He is so funny!😙
What a great family. These family excursions are my favorite videos on your channel. I think your subs/fans would seriously pay to eat with your Mum & Dad. They should really consider this as a side hustle after the pandemic is over. LOL!
Amy! Great video as always! I'm drooling during these videos. When travel opens up, you need to do a Parents-visit China adventure and do a Chongqing Episode - I'd probably enjoy watching your parents open up to hotpot, take the gondola, try all street foods and even have them partake in the old-fashioned evening center square, outdoor dancing as many 'laotaipo' love doing over there!
hello Amy, I have been watching your videos for a long time, but this is the first time I put a comment. I like you so much and I love your parents a lot. Your sweetest mum is so open-minded and lovely, especially when she was trying all the new Chinese food, I can literally tell that she loves it from her face and comments. And no doubt your dad is also a very funny and warm person. Always keep tuned to your next video.
Absolutely love your videos Amy!! ❤️ I love how you and your fam are so open minded in trying different foods. I hope more westerners can learn from you guys! 😄

Thank you,Amy,for focusing on introducing Chinese culture and Chinese food to the rest of the world, your every vlog is full with optimistic mood and enthusiasm, just make me fell very comfortable. Jiayou Amy!
Your parents are truly amazing and you are lucky to have them! I love how open they are of trying new things and exploring different cultures. No matter if I show my parents Japanese, Korean or Chinese cuisine, it's all "Asian food" to them and they have no interest in learning further. Same with my language learning. I'm currently at an A2 level in Korean and my mom the other day asked me "What does this say?" And held up a box with Mandarin writing 😅 I love my parents, but I think you are truly blessed to have such open-minded and good-natured parents. It is a joy to see. Lovely video, cheers 🧡
