    Beautiful fight especially the way you tried to enter her guard. I'm also 5.2 and I only train with guys and it's my struggle sparring with them.... Big thank you

    Impressive fight, with more time to prepare who knows if you could have taken that fight again. Shows how close you both are in conditioning. You should give yourself more credit for your mental toughness, but I know that is far easier said than done.
    Good luck in your training, and I'm sure you'll overcome her next time. Your pressure in my opinion was greater, she is a great counter striker though, simplicity does go a long way.
    Thanks for sharing!

    What other muay fighters would beat much bigger champions? Saenchai? Sylvie is becoming well known, but still underrated. Would love to see her in 1fc

    Btw anyone watch the UFC’s Khalil rountree fight last night? He said his visit to Thailand was a big part of why he won. He completely tenderized his opponents front leg

    You had Me on the edge of My seat.... wanting you to do the Fuck it and switch on that opponents open side, with like a side step tap the opponent and open your way in 🤔🤔🤔.... keep your guard up though 😁😁😁. Def a disadvantage.... a big one put keep doing your thing

      Maybe a way to knock that pong leg away to be able to close in on that distance....

    Do you think switching to a Muay Mat style for taller Fimeu fighters would help you? Whenever I watch you fight it seems like you have more power than a lot these girls.

  • @soullight8632

    I think maybe learning ring cutting might help with closing distance?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm actually pretty good at cutting off the ring usually, but not in this fight. Sometimes things go out the window. I was intimidated by her size and I got tunnel vision. Hey, it happens! Kevin was yelling at me to cut off the ring, but I just couldn't focus.

      Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu - Muay Thai honestly can’t blame you, it’s terrifying even if the person is just a few kilos heavier 😰

  • @a_stray_dog
    @a_stray_dog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait, so they match you up with much bigger opponents to "even out" how strong you are in the clinch, then break up the clinch as to not give you an unfair advantage? Jesus, how can someone take any pride in winning after handicapping their opponent so throughly?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's ok, it just makes me a better fighter to climb these little hills of adversity. It's all about learning how to win a close fight.

  • @rwilke3743

    Why to they stop the clinch? I thought that was a big part of the sport?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is, but at this stadium they have really gotten to know me as a powerful clinch fighter, and some of the refs have begun breaking the clinch quickly against me. I'm not entirely sure why. Sometimes it may be just to try and even up the fight. Maybe sometimes it has to do with the money being bet on fights, or because my opponent may be favored by the promoter. I just know that I have to be much quicker in the clinch in this stadium. I don't think is nefarious, its something that just evolved with me. One reason I like festival fights, and especially fights in Isaan, is that they tend to really let the clinch go.

    • @rwilke3743
      @rwilke3743 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu - Muay Thai seems like a shame they don’t let the clinch play out more but at least you’re known for being a specialist at something which is cool

    Hello. I love Muay Thai, and I try to train as much as I can every day, both with shadow boxing, and when I can I do Sparring is light. Because I'm convinced it's an art. But no matter how hard I try, I can't understand female fights. I can not match femininity in my head with elbows in the lips, or kick in the breast ..... I can't actually understand it even among men because I could never sink an elbow with force on my face or mine friend, and even more than a stranger who has never done anything to me ..... I find it very difficult even to go to gyms, where it is almost impossible to meet someone with whom to do Sparring who has my mentality in the West, because it almost always happens to me that even when you ask for light Sparring you get very heavy shots. Unfortunately, I got to the conclusion that it is not my limit, but the human race that can no longer do without violence.

    You ever thought about gaining weight or is it too unpractical?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm very small framed, but already very muscular. I could maybe put on a kilo or so, but it would just make my opponents larger. The reason for the size discrepancy is that they are evening out the fight, making up for my strength in the clinch. If I got bigger, they would just make my opponents bigger.
