Nice collection (especially the OM-4Ti) you got there :) My favorite is the OM-2n since it uses easily available batteries and has all the functions I need in a camera. I have four OM-2n at the moment (1x black, 1x chrome, 1x chrome I fitted with white leather, 1x chrome that needs repair) and two OM-1 (1x black converted to a lamp, 1x chrome with dead metering) but I'm sure there is still space for more :D
I really like the OM2sp, ever since I got it my OM1 has sat on the shelf. The extra stop of shutter speed and the use of currently available batteries makes it a winner in my book. Plus the different metering modes are nice also.
I understand and, for the same reasons, I tend to take the OM-4 Ti out more often than the OM-1 these days. I've been thinking about getting a Schottky diode modification that allows you to use the 1.5V batteries in the OM-1, but I'm in no hurry, as I have an adapter built in the shape of a 625 that takes a 386 battery. One will set you back about $30 online.
The Om 2sp is a grate camera whith a winder 2 and T 32 flash whith a silver nose 50 mm f 1.4 the TLL OTF works fine day as night put it in mecanikal (red mode ) so it dont drayn the batterys when you dont use it and dont use winder in mek mode (red) it will brake the camera and flash synk dont work in mek mode there is no mek switshes like a om 1 or 2 in it only electroniks ..
Superb video and really useful information. I think I've got the bug for collecting them. I have an OM1n but thought I had better get the OM3ti over and done with so that's on its way. Just need to make friends with the bank manager again after that one. My first ever SLR was an OM20. I loved it and wore it round my neck everywhere I went. I think these are some of the best designed 35mm SLRs, and the OM-4Ti is probably my favorite camera ever. They're small and light, yet well built. The lenses are also among the smallest in their respective focal lengths/apertures, which is something other manufacturers of small SLRs didn't consider at the time. The metering is just superb, it nails exposure every single time if you know what you're doing. The viewfinders are among the best on any 35mm camera (the ones which accept the 2-13 focusing screen are amazing when they have it on).
Thanks for your perspective on this marvellous gear Antonio F. I couldn't agree more. Although I love the ruggedness and simplicity of the OM-1, it's usually the OM-4 Ti I take out on a shoot.
Always appreciated the technology, build quality and excellent optics from Olympus friends had Olympus cameras so I was familiar with them. Never had one until I picked up an OM10 with Zuiko 35-70mm zoom lens for the princely sum of $45.00 U.S. a couple of years ago unfortunately it doesn't have the accessory manual shutter speed adapter but it's a handy camera. Equivalent to the 'consumer' level SLR's available from the other major manufacturers back in the 1980's.

Just a note if I may - the last Olympus OM camera is the OM2000 released by Olympus in 1997 and made by Cosina for them with the OM lens mount. It gets all sorts of negative comment because it was not a "system" camera (OM1 - OM4Ti) but I own one. As an Olympus collector of all models from the 50's thru to the OM2000 and now user also of a modern OMD 5 ii, I bought the OM2000 new in Hong Kong the week it was released - it gives beautiful images because of course its got the Zuiko OM lens out front. :)
I love Olympus 35mm cameras. I have had an OM1 & OM10 and now have an OM2 and love the lens quality. I've just switched from Nikon DSLR to Olympus 4/3 camera and love it. There is just something about an OM2, its compactness and that great sounding shutter.
Scored an OM-4 about this time last year on Ebay for $100 and free shipping. It was my first ever film camera and I'm more in love with it than I was when I first got it.
Nice video, my very first camera was the OM20 as my older brothers had OM1n's respectively. I later upgraded to the OM2SP but had problems with the mechanics, I should point out that both cameras were second hand. I ended up swapping the OM2SP for a Canon EOS 600 which I still have, I couldn't afford the T90 at the time, which I think is an iconic camera and genus for the whole EOS range. That said, I'd love to get either an OM2n or an OM3 if I could. The Zuiko range of lenses were great glass.

I got an OM 2000 for Christmas once. Unfortunately that camera jams anytime is a lens on it. It was fairly decent when it worked especially since it's battery was only used for the light meter.
I have an OM10, that always worked, but remained off and not used for many years .. I changed the batteries after many years, but when I switch on, nothings happens. Battery not detected .. no oxidation and batteries are new. Mechanical parts are ok. Any idea or suggestions to fix it by myself? Thanks
What a pity that Olympus isn't producing a digital equivalent to these cameras, that is: OM Mount + Full Frame sensor + all Manual controls (similar to Fuji)
I recently bought an OM2 and an OM1 in that order. I love them both as if they were my children (I don't have kids). The other day I had to butcher a broken OM40 to use its prism in the OM2 (the dreaded foam prism rot). It felt wrong. Am I a bad person? I'll need to do the same for the OM1. I'm turning into a mass murderer.
So you, too haven't got the OM-3... I was so ready to hate ya lol (just kidding.) I was given recently an OMG, that's one crappy camera! And I do love Olympus cameras, don't get me wrong. Excellent review, as always.

The OM-30 was based around a focus assist system and was a consumer model. The OM-1 was a fully manual professional model. If you are trying to decide between the two, I would suggest the OM-1 (preferably the OM-1n). I've had two and they are very robust. I've also owned two OM-30s and the focus assist has failed on them both (plus the build quality is not as good). In fact I would recommend any model from the single or double digit series over the OM-30. If you want auto and manual control in a consumer model, then the OM-40 (US: OM-PC) is a favourite of mine.
I see and I will get one OM-1 But my question about lens still haywired, I usually shoot landscape, skies, bokeh and sometime street photography. My friend tell me to get the lens 50 F1.4 by Zuiko but that lens makes a very strong bokeh effect, if you have any lens that can be used as a multi-purpose lens, please recommend me (If not I will have to use the 50 F1.4)
Up front, I need to state I am biased. I love the Zuiko 50mm f1.4 (plus the f1.8 is a nice alternative and is lighter and cheaper). I believe your friend has suggested an excellent all-round lens and I feel it covers your requirements of bokeh and street. However, the 50mm focal length is not designed for sweeping vista type landscapes. It works reasonably well for landscape shots that have the foreground interest as the main subject, but that's about it. I'd suggest a Flickr search on "35mm" (or "full frame") and "landscape", pick the shots you like, and look at the information (to see the focal length of the lens). Be careful you are not looking at cameras with crop sensors (or half frame film). The given focal length will have a narrower field of view and does not look the same as on 35mm film or a full frame sensor. If you can justify a second lens, the Zuiko 28mm f3.5 and f2.8 are nice wide angle lenses (I have reviewed the f3.5 on this channel) at a reasonable price. The Zuiko 24mm f2.8 is a very nice landscape lens, but is generally up to twice the price of a 28mm. If you look around (and are patient) you should be able to buy an OM-1 with a 50mm f1.8 for about AU$150 and a 28mm f3.5 for another AU $100. Hopefully that's within your budget. I have the OMG with the 50mm 1.8. Great little camera very bright easy to focus viewfinder. I am thinking about buying the 35mm F2.8 lens for it.

I would go with the OM1, fully mechanic and manual only, the best way to learn the photography basics. Have fun! :)
