nice video Greg. recently weather changes has NOT been ideal. Thanks to the storms, my favourite beach roads has been washed out haha might b a year b4 i can go back. at least u were able to get onto some fish. good haul on the tuna and the kingfish at the end
really nice after the hardest week of my life to sit down and watch a nice fishing vid, good distraction for me greg cheers!. My conditions i got tuna fishing were way worse while i was in Taranaki , will get that footage up eventually. Nice to see you get some skippies. Those kingfish around the cape seem to always be hounded by sharks out there.
Maaaate wasn't the only one I lost on this trip either 😂 reckon I had a good shot at hitting that magic 20 with the other one I caught (next video). Ah well, that's what keeps us going back eh Rob!
Yeh you need a bit of luck with the big kings nor the least of which is the taxman and being able to crank the king up as quickly as possible....much easier said than done on a narrow fishing platform with lots going on. Bloody gagging to get up north again the Auckland in shore fishing has been really disappointing so far this summer .....still haven't got a legal king 🙄🙄🙄
@@robhenson480 Agreed! I find the larger fish more difficult to land on the PDL compared to my old kayak. The higher seat position means it's like a rodeo sometimes when fighting big fish. Looks like we're in for a treat this weekend at least!
@@gpfishingadventures7834 nice, I am buying me one of these tomorrow , let me know how Far East i need to head out to catch one of these bad boys. I have recently finished my mini project whilst the weather was bad , I’ve put a 18 pound trust watersnake on the back of my kayak power by a 5amp battery, itching to test it out the moment I get a break in their weird weather!
@@kumarnamdar1767 nice man! They work a gem. Sounds like quite the set up you have. You'll want to head out to fairly deep water. At least 100m. There's a few spots on the east coast north island where that's doable from a yak. Better off heading to Taranaki though. Much safer if the swell is down. And heaps of tuna running there at the moment.

Cheers Peter!
Always a fun day out there. Looked like a decent swell.. can't wait to get back out there
Bro those were some of the gnarliest conditions I've had out there eh. 5kmph current is never fun 😂 good times though!

Glad it was of some help to you mate 😊. Yeah can't escape the sharks out there unfortunately!
Aaaah mate what a super thing to do. As per normal another good watch. Shame about the sharking that looed like a good fish.

Where are you fishing bro?
Out wide off the East Coast bro!
Amazing man, great videos as always, never caught a skippy, what lures are you using ?
Thanks Kumar! I'm currently running Rapala CD14 bibbed lures, but looking to upsize to hopefully grab the attention of a bigger fish 😊
