Knee does appear to be having a slow start in T8, but I feel like he struggled a good bit in the first couple of seasons of T7 as well.
Recency bias is a mf. People are dumping on Arslan and Atif now, as if Tekken isn't an extremely challenging game to be consistent in and as if the top sharks in this game can't kill each other when the tide is right.
The margin of difference between the top players is almost nonexistent. Tourneys are won by whoever happens to be having a better day.
@@holden6104 I completely agree. I do feel that Atiff and Arslan are slightly better than the rest of the competition, but a misinput, poor read or a dropped combo equals everyone out lol.
But yeah guys like Jeondding, JDCR (still), Knee, Rangchu, AK, CBM, Meo, Chikurin, LowHigh and Ulsan etc. can beat anyone in a ft2 depending on the day.
This is what I'm talking about, it hasnt even been a full year of tekken and people are already hating on veteran players like knee for being "bad at Tekken", give them a few more years and i feel like they'll take back their throne as the goats of tekken
@@KarasunoFE Potentially. I'm a huge Knee fan, but he is like 40 or 41 and his reactions, over the past few tournaments, don't seem to be AS sharp, With that said I still think he has a few more strong years in him.

Knee took a year or so to get to where he was in 7. Give him time. What knee truly accels at is growth over time. He is still world class. He will get his big wins. Its still so early. We have only had a handful of tournaments.
Knee a highly defensive reaction based player and soon 40 years old. Of course it takes him a few moments to adjust to new animations and new moves. T8 is highly aggressive game. Knee had to change his play style too.
People say he’s bad now. But that simpy means that he’s not hitting top 3 in every tournament anymore. He is still extremely good and getting better and better. Today he’s hitting top 8. Next year even better.
It’s a game not real life u say 40 like he’s going senile. The only thing that’s hindering him is his comprehension of the game, he understood the previous games and exposed damn near all the greatest players, the only issue is comprehension if you can’t comprehend you can’t be your best
40 years old and 20 years old have different reaction time. Up to 6 milliseconds per decade. So he’s likely one frame slower to react. Not a big deal, but it’s not nothing.

Yup Tekken 8 is more offensive oriented which isn't really what Knee's strong suit. I'm happy that he's atleast still consistent

His adaptation was greatly improved. Looked like he genuinely been in the lab. Still started off a bit slow for a few matches. Knee deserves some love for working on his game.

Bryan is really difficult in T8 when there are so many other OP characters . He needs to fight a character that he can really resonate with hopefully with some of the future DLC characters

@@Justlookingaround19 Bryan has power but isn’t a comfortable player for me to play with at all. Crazy enough my mains now are Azucena, Lidia(she’s actually low key powerful as fuck), Jun, and Law.
I have more respect for knee who plays Bryan and is defs not a tournament character and is so known for his matchup and still does great with him 💯🔥🔥
He actually played Drag/feng which didn’t help him win matches, so i guess bryan being his main since Tk3 he decided to stick with him.
Knee is not pressing buttons which is only problem.

Knee is an old man where he would not mash any more. He would study rely on defense and movement. He loves this game hence even at 40 he is willing to adapt.
Also people forget that he hard time adapting to tekken 7. He is a slow starter. But once he does he is unstoppable
Once knee can accept that heat is going to stay and accept that he has to use it. He will come back, right now he hates everything to do with heat and that is why he rarely uses it. He keeps posting to get rid o heat from the game, It's not gonna get removed ever.
It's simply because Tekken8 doesn't reward defensive players who can read, sidestep, and punish like Tekken7 does. Tekken7>Tekken8
I want to point out, at 1:46. Even in a tournament Knee is crediting his opponent. The subtle head knod.

knee has 20 YEARS OF DEFENSIVE SKILL TO UNTRAIN. Because of SCRUB MECHANICS that T8 is based on.

One thing ive noticed about knee is his attacks are still fairly conservative in t8. Its getting better, but i remember he still tried to incorporate heavy on jabs. I notice he doesnt side step as much as others. He gets chipped since he is still blocking a lot. I hope he adapts. I love his playstyle

I know three people who are not unbeatable in one category, but are considered positional figures. Boxer of starcraft, Faker of LOL, and KNEE of TEKEN. What they have in common is not a race or character that was considered good at the time, but a pioneering aspect of rediscovering undervalued characters and races. I always expected KNEE's creativity, and he always showed it. There will always be no one who can beat KNEE but is not nervous and can play against KNEE.

Knee is definitely an honourable player for sticking with a tough character like Bryan but that is his strongest character and in this game Bryan is to slow in Tekken 8.
I don't see Bryan winning a big tournament in T8 but Knee will develop great skills using him.
@@Justlookingaround19knee uses the most OP characters. He was using Feng in T7 and Drag in T8 before he switched to Bryan. Online Gimmicky characters don’t do well in tournaments except a select few.

I think Knee must retire for Tekken Korea sence.
He never respects his opponent's skill and is looking for the reason why he keeps losing Tekken 8 in his opponent's character, not himself.
Listen to him do a private broadcast after the competition ends.
He only talks about the irrationality of his opponent's character without checking his skill every time.
This is not just a habit he used to talk about while playing Tekken 8. It was the same with Tekken 7.
To tell a story, knee was once lost to an Ulsan player who used "Azucena." Do you know what he said on his personal broadcast at the time? Ulsan is a good player, but he said he can never perform like that unless it's Azucena. He doesn't respect his opponent at all.

Knee is great at Tekken one of the best, but I’m not gonna lie. I feel like he missed a lot of opportunities that even I could’ve capitalized on with Brian. Brian is the most OP character in the game with his skill level. He shouldn’t be struggling and he should just be dominating. With all due respect to his competition, they weren’t using Brian.
