Can't believe this recording exists on you tube - I too got a copy in my 125 railway set 40 years ago when i was 8 - how i wish i could go back and re live some of my childhood. Love Bernard Cribbins.....RIP
@@matthewhaythorpe Same here, I got straight onto google, I'm so glad I found it! Happy memories of my Intercity 125! It must be at least 40 years ago! RIP Bernard.
I got this disc with my Intercity 125 set when I was eight - that was forty-one years ago. I still remember a lot from this recording. Thank you for a precious memory.
Over 40 years since I last listened to this,, I am 49 now. I thought Mr Cribbins was the owner of Hornby. It wasn't long till I learned he was an actor though!! Rest in Peace!
I’ve always hoped that my copy of this flexidisc would turn up somewhere at home, but alas not. Can’t believe I didn’t think to check TH-cam sooner! Thanks for uploading.
Several copies available on Discogs starting at £1 plus postage: www.discogs.com/Bernard-Cribbins-A-Personal-Message-About-Your-New-Hornby-Train-Set/release/1220809 Still got my original copy.
If you have no objections on this being highlighted on my channel alongside my later Hornby cassette transfer, i'd like to clean up the audio and remove the background noise.

I remember having this recording. Lovely memories.
I still have my Flexi disc. It jumps in one place, but it remains priceless to me. Mine came in the maroon Class 52 Western freight set. Happy days.

00 guage Hornby is 1:76 scale, meaning that if Bernard Cribbins is 2" tall, at Hornby scale he would be a 13ft tall giant!
2:18 - LOL Well at least the EU did one good thing during our membership, ie mandating that all electrical items come with a fitted plug.

Bet this is worth a lot of money now given hes passed away!.
Was there a song on the other side?
Song?
I think the other side was smooth. There was no recording.
@Someone on TH-cam
I remember flexi-disks from Reader’s Digest and they were smooth at the back too.
i still have my copy and i had the privilege of meeting Bernard Cribbens and getting his autograph as well
