Same. Our local McDonald's had an outdoor play area with a jungle gym/ball pit. They took the play area away when they remodeled to the new "modern" looking McDonald's, which imo looks so ugly compared to the retro look.
Working the fries station during rush means the whole freakin restaurant is looking at you...cashiers, managers, customers. If fries were on hold the whole cookie factory grinds to a halt

Exactly! Every time my family and I drive by any fast food place, I look thru my window to see who's sitting inside, and elderly people will always be the ones sitting.
Costumer service was great. People eating also behaved and cleaned after themselves. Plenty of workers. Big contracts to what you see in one of those establishments nowadays.
This brings such nostalgia to me back when McDonald’s was actually good and they had good workers and managers managing making sure everyone is doing their job.. now you don’t even want to get near one don’t have good workers and don’t give same quality like they used to.
This was my first job. McDonald’s gets a lot of flack but I enjoyed my time there until I was forced out. Sadly now theses companies in Canada only hire those from outside the country cause it’s cheaper for them. Hopefully they can get back into hiring youth cause it’s important. Good first job.

Man this brings me back to my childhood. I was a wee kiddo back then and at that time the super size option was ridiculous even though I had no clue😆. But after seeing that documentary movie Super Size Me it made sense. The super size era. But hey that’s my McDonald’s that I remember and everyone were working hard and making the business very enjoyable each time you get there and ordered. Today hardly nobody wants to work or too lazy to work because of technology and the internet that we have today. Pretty sad. You can’t beat the old times.
My local McD feels and looks like a prison inside. Gone is the fountain machine, condiment dispensers....even napkin and straw dispensers are gone. All have to be requested at the register. Remodel is cold, colorless and lifeless as most are familiar with now. One register is all that is left and is not stationed. If you stand there people will walk by and not even acknowledge your presence. Eventually the right person will ask what you want. They have made every effort to make the inside a place you don't want to be to keep the diners empty. McD used to be a pleasant place to visit with each restaurant having a unique flare as this video demonstrates.

Everyone is wearing a uniform. No visible tattoos. No one has pink or green hair. Most employees aren't obese. No one is vaping on the job. I know people claim that it's a cliche to say that things were better back then than they are now, but I think this confirms that it is true sometimes.
