      Same. Our local McDonald's had an outdoor play area with a jungle gym/ball pit. They took the play area away when they remodeled to the new "modern" looking McDonald's, which imo looks so ugly compared to the retro look.

    This was my first job. McDonald’s gets a lot of flack but I enjoyed my time there until I was forced out. Sadly now theses companies in Canada only hire those from outside the country cause it’s cheaper for them. Hopefully they can get back into hiring youth cause it’s important. Good first job.

    My local McD feels and looks like a prison inside. Gone is the fountain machine, condiment dispensers....even napkin and straw dispensers are gone. All have to be requested at the register. Remodel is cold, colorless and lifeless as most are familiar with now. One register is all that is left and is not stationed. If you stand there people will walk by and not even acknowledge your presence. Eventually the right person will ask what you want. They have made every effort to make the inside a place you don't want to be to keep the diners empty. McD used to be a pleasant place to visit with each restaurant having a unique flare as this video demonstrates.

    I remember working at McDonald's I started in 2006 I was 21 at the time, I remember those uniforms they were a pain in the ass to work in. They were thick, hot, and impossible to keep clean cause they were white polos. I worked at McDonald's for a total of 15 years. I do not miss it at all😂 It use to be okay back then until they wanted to have a trillion options and those damn McCafe drinks. It was draining constantly having rushes and no down time. But that was then. McDonald's use to be pretty okay to work at back then til it wasn't lol.

    Everyone is wearing a uniform. No visible tattoos. No one has pink or green hair. Most employees aren't obese. No one is vaping on the job. I know people claim that it's a cliche to say that things were better back then than they are now, but I think this confirms that it is true sometimes.

    Although I argue 1990s culture ended with 9/11, there was still a remnant of 90's aesthetic to this McDonald's from 2002 with the uniforms and architecture.

    • @obvioushieidude7668
      @obvioushieidude7668 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Politically the 90s ended with 9/11. However pop culturally, the 90s aesthetic lingered on until 2003/2004ish.

      I can tell you two are Lil Timmys with no knowledge. The 90's culturally and aesthetically ended before 1998 and after 1996. Kinda like how the 2000's culturally and aesthetically ended after 2008. Or how the 80's ended before 1989 and after 1987.

      @@TheMasterofDisaster48 I'm 24 years old, so not a little timmy.
      People don't just look at a calendar on January 1st, 1990 and say "Oh great we're in the 1990s now, time to start listening to boy bands and grunge!". Culture and aesthetics don't work like that.

    • @TheMasterofDisaster48
      @TheMasterofDisaster48 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gnnascarfan2410Still too young for me. But as you can see, the cultures of the forthcoming decade starts in the earlier decade. The guy above you said the 90's was still on in 2004. Bruh, the new jack swing, grunge, uglaaay fashion, 8-bit/16-bit games, arcades and all of that 90's stuff had ended in 1997 and by 1998 was replaced by the forthcomming culture of the 2000's. You will often also hear ritawrded self obsessed Americans claim it ended in 9 /11 just because their two buildings fell, as if that has any role in culture and aesthetic.
