@@Zerokaza Of course I didn't know it was a reboot. The movie came out when I was 4, and I was still pretty young the first couple times I've watched it.

This was one of the other origins of Catwoman. The Goddess has helped many other women in many other ways, hence we have Michelle's photo. I really love this movie.
What I like is the way she explains Patience has been caged all her life, and that Midnight gave her the gift of freedom -- a cat's true life. Its independance.
@Teresa Downes I realized literally minutes ago that the guy who pulled the trigger on Brandon Lee is in this movie. He is the same guy who kills Patience.
It was one of the best scenes in the movie. I kind of wish that Batman had showed up later on, maybe toward the end of the movie. Remember that in the comics Batman and Catwoman are usually enemies.
This scene is the absolute pinnacle of crazy cat lady fan fiction. "Yes...YES! We're not lonely or wierd, we're keepers of ancient and powerful cat secret!"
I relate to being caged for most my life, sad so many people discourage us from expressing our true inner selves, I worshipped bast I think she acknowledges and blesses me athletically, and preserves my foot.
I can almost accept the fact that this film isn't about selina kyle cause that photo suggests this takes place place in the same universe as batman returns with patience being the next catwoman after selina.
I'm actually glad that they added an Easter egg in this film and it's kind of possible that patience Phillips does exist outside of Gotham City. I kind of wish that they made a Batman movie with her in it but apparently we can't have two Catwoman's and then there have to be like a love triangle. Even though Bruce fell in love with dozens of women. But yeah I would love to seeing patience Phillips interacting with him or Selina Kyle and sharing the generations of Catwoman before her.
@@TShay92 I'm talking about the actress because she's always got typecasted as "crazy lady" every time she's in. Either in Catwoman, American Horror Story, Joker 2019.
"The duality in all women, docile yet aggressive, nurturing yet ferocious....Catwomen are not contained by the rules of society. You follow your own desires. This is both a blessing and a curse. Fierce independence, total confidence, inhuman reflexes. You've spent a lifetime caged. By accepting who you are - all of who you are... you can be free. And freedom is power."
This was honestly a good campy movie. Not everything has to be “The dark knight”. Adam west Batman has its place and so does this one. A fun, campy, popcorn flick
This movie makes me realize we never appreciate cats as much as we do dogs, this scene in particular opens your eyes to the deep history of cats and all of their great qualities.
I know this iteration of catwoman and her origin isn't comic book accurate, but it was still a pretty enjoyable film for what it's worth. Admittedly it was a little poor in some areas, but I honestly liked this scene here about the lore of multiple catwomen throughout the centuries.
I still like this movie no matter how much of it separates from the traditional. It brought out Halle's hotness and the 2nd time Catwoman had superpowers, 1st was Michelle Pfeiffer with 9 lives and here is more cat powers.
A picture of Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman is shown in this disastrous movie. This movie is probably a spin-off to the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher Batman movies.
@@gravity2218 I mean... both Catwomen seemingly die and are resurrected by cats breathing and nibbling on them. It also explains how Selina tanked bullets in Batman Returns.
The Film was originally a "Batman Returns" spinoff with Burton and Pfeiffer intended to return but the screenplays were all too dry and formulaic so the studio kept rejecting them. Ultimately, the studio decided instead of putting Selina Kyle in a Film without Batman to create a new Catwoman named Patience Price and when "Gothika" came out starring Halle Berry the studio and Director Pitof decided on a leading lady and a new backstory for The Character connected to Egyptian Mythology and the cosmetics industry. In the final draft, The Character`s name was changed one final time to Patience Phillips and the rest is history!
Halle did EXACTLY what she was paid to do, and that's play the hell out of this role. Yall mad? Be mad at the WRITER, not the actress......... bottom line, she ATE! CGI and all.
Ophelia's claims of having magical powers eventually diminished her credibility and no one believed her when she spoke of her relationship with Thomas Wayne and their illegitimate son named Arthur.
Maybe she was a retired Catwoman and had lost her power because of her age and then became a professor. Her cats are approaching Patience when she entered her house and the fact that she's alone with bunch of cats might hinted of who she was. She might noticed Patience's "cat eyes" from the beginning and when she threw catnip to Patience and Patience played with it, she knew that Patience was dead and got resurrected as Catwoman. So, she might experience the same thing when she was a Catwoman before, dead and then came alive by the Maus.
This movie had so many icons in it. Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, and even Alex Borstein! Alex Borstein voices Lois in Family Guy. Frances Conroy in American Horror Story. My god she didn’t age well, it’s only been like 20 years sister

When she said you've spent a lifetime caged, and that she needed to except herself to be free, that really hit me
I even cried
We r all free but we dont embrace that freedom and we let people cage us
She's been a pushover and I love when she cuts her hair and struts.
