- Norfolk Southern's "City of Possibilities" showcases the railroad's role as a creator of economic possibilities-a powerful force for growth among the industries and communities served by the line.
The ad is a whimsical portrayal of a boy and his dog, and the steady growth of a railroad-served community that comes to life while they sleep. In the last decade, NS has participated in the location and expansion of more than 1,000 factories, distribution facilities, and other businesses along its lines, representing an investment by NS customers of $30 billion and some 46,000 jobs.
The spot was produced by Norfolk Southern's advertising agency, RP3 Agency of Bethesda, Md., and by The Mill of New York, N.Y., an award-winning creator of computer-generated graphics.

Great commercial. My father was a Lionel RR hobbyest. In the 1950's the RRs had the greatest Calendars and train shows with at Grand Central Station or the Old Penn Station in NY. You are now on my radar. Thanks

I really love this commercial NS. It is moving for all ages and the message is clear. In addition to being an amazing commercial on its own, I'd like to personally thank whoever added those little details, and let them know they are appreciated. have to admit, I nearly got emotional watching this - brought back childhood memories of playing trains No mode of transport has contributed to building of the worlds nations more than the train. NS has captured it quite well in this video.
NS's current program of Heritage units and running steam, coupled to a business model that includes public opinion, has trumped its image by leaps and bounds. Congratulations, NS!

Funny thing for me is, I work for a local school district north of Columbus OH but I pretend I work for NS. I have NS jacket, NS ball cap, winter stocking knitted hat, NS short sleeved work shirts and coffee mug with matching coaster.

Thanks for all the older railroad logos on the toy chest. Norfolk & Western is the railroad I first knew as they had railway in Moberly, MO. Nice seeing that logo again! Keep up the good work, NS!

NS, who was the Darrin Stephens at which ad agency that created this masterpiece? However, it is a bit busy (as I know your road is) - but I love it!

I know I did something about it but was that a Bachmann afternoon since it had the six axles it could have been an athearn SD something EMD SD my guess is as in a thorn or a Bachmann course Atlas is still an option there
