- Installing the SW Motech lower crash bars onto my BMW R1300GS. This is a very straight forward job to do and will be easy for a novice mechanic to attempt! Upper bars still to arrive at this time but expected soon!

Nice one. They look better than I thought Scotty and they don’t cover the billet 👍🏻 I’m a SWMotech fan boy but still undecided. When you got the upper bars you will need also to buy brackets to fit your running lights onto. I’m going to buy the TOURATECH sports bars. Very similar to your ones.
Thank you! Thank you for watching as well 😊
Great video mate !. I have the SW Motech bars sitting in my shed. Had these on my 1250 and they were great. Lovely build quality and a resonable price compared to the other brands. All I need now is for my 719 to arrive next week and I can actually fit them lol.
Great choice with the 719! You won’t be disappointed! I’m just waiting on the uppers arriving and then I’m good to go!
Great video. Do you have the torque setting for the bolts? Can’t seem to find anywhere.
thanks for sharing very much appreciated !! 👍🙏
My pleasure!
Are cylinder covers available yet. I have Givi bars on my 1200 having dropped the bike my cylinder covers got slightly marked.
if I go off road with uneven ground they would get hit. I would definitely recommend cylinder covers. Very nice bike.
They are indeed! I’ve not had them on any bike before but that’s a good shout!
when i did this on my KTM, removed bolt, thought my motor was falling out, bumped down a bit. i hope the screw you gotta remove is not for holding something in place
Thankfully all of with this! Do one at a time just in case!!
nice job Iain, fairly straight forward as you mentioned. Just wondering if you considered the mototec vs touratech before hand as I haven't purchased a set yet?
I did initially as it’s another great brand. At the time of ordering, black wasn’t an option and the uppers weren’t released. SW motech had both for sale and in black. I’ve bought a lot of the stuff over the years and it’s always been first class so it seemed like the right solution!
thanks for taking the time to reply mate, my bike arrived yesterday so I need to make my mind up asap - also while I have your attention, can I ask if you had yours ceramic coated?@@Motoscotty
It is going in the next few weeks for it to be done! I’m a huge fan of it, especially with the spoked wheels as it makes them much easier to clean!
Check out my Taycan getting coated last month, well worth the money and it’s now well protected!
Great video, does that upper bar contact your leg at all? I get the bike in 2 days so i cant check clearances
No, not at all and I’m 6ft tall. It’s absolutely fine for space!
Thanks mate
Thank you for the video. Do you also know the torque value of the bolts?
Yes, according to bmw the torque is 100nm for the larger rear bolt and 32nm for the front, hopefully that helps!
@@Motoscottythanks! 👍
@@MotoscottyI just need the torque value, it’s really helpful for me! Great video, Thanks
@@ericwang9407 thank you Eric!

They are from SW Motech! If you are in the UK they are supplied by Motohaus!
