its sad ppl are missing the point of the story. this is the first manga that goes in depth with a Male character s 3 xual urges, how s 3x is used to exploit him or "fix" him . like yea it can be played off as a gag but theyre more of learning lessons and reflection of our culture as well. . theres a lot of nuances but everyone is taking it the wrong way cus lets be real, there arent alot of media that represents Boys struggles with life, women, ect.

I understand how he feels, its probably not even just the pleasure, but the validation and acceptance of being desired and consumated with can be intense if you have a very strong drive with no outlet.
I think the problem people have with part 2 is that 1) it doesn't seem to have a clear direction and 2) it kills off tension very often(ex : every Quanxi appearance in part 2 so far). Don't get me wrong, I still like part 2 and think fujimoto can cook, but those two problems alongside many others are what is holding many readers back(myself included)

Just look at season 1, didn’t get popular at all because it barely even covered most of the interesting stuff. I think once part 2 is done and you can read it all the way through then you’ll enjoy it as much as part 1. Trust me, I wasn’t enjoying this part until I stopped reading and just binged the last 15 chapters. Some series just aren’t made to be watched weekly.

The deal is that the guy just does not know how to deal with any of this. He doesn’t know how to deal with loss. He doesn’t know how to deal with the death of people mostly because honestly, he never really had a chance to process it at a time the people denji hang out with were good friends, but they were not the best support system so the way the author is doing really shows what happens to someone who doesn’t have a good emotional support system to help them through their emotional turmoil.
I feel like this is kinda similar to what happened with Shinji in End of Evangelion when he masturbated in front of Asuka. Denji has been through so much turmoil physically, mentally, emotionally, and so on, to the point where he feels he has no to emotionally lean on for support. So as a result to help cope with everything, he goes with his primal instincts in order for him to cope which in this case it's sex/masturbation. He's in so much pain, that they just for a brief moment of pleasure just for the pain to go away. It's a coping mechanism a lot of people go through, especially when they're alone and they are dealing with loss.
I believe denji has always been like that, a great portion of part 2 emphasizes the fact that denji is free from abusive people that always tell him what to do and now he can think for himself, but it doesn't seem to lead him anywhere. Growing up without a normal childhood makes him a kid that seriously needs a guidance, that's why aki told denji that has no sense of good and bad. He told kishibe that he'd be on the devil's side if they took good care of him. This was his code in part 1. Everything seems better when he has someone to put him on leash and tell him what to do, because otherwise he'd base his actions on his primal instinct.
If chapter 167 ends with Denji losing his genitalia it takes the story full circle to how he was in the beginning of chainsaw man ,with Denji having no family, no love, no reason to live, and worst of all no balls.
I will admit that Denji did show some regression this chapter, but to say that’s the only thing that happened and that he’s back to square one couldn’t be farther from the truth. I can’t even imagine part 1 Denji breaking down and reflecting on how his constant sex drive is actually doing more harm than good. Hell, not even part 2 Denji would have done that if not for the most recent events. Just let Fujimoto cook bruh 😭🙏
I'm not so sure that it shows a regression. He is admitting that his mind is going to sex, but at the same time he also realized that something is messed up about it. It shows that he is finally recognizing that he has some kind of trauma. Before, he would have dove into it headfirst. He'd have been the one trying to seek out sex. He is finally understanding why he was acting the way he was, and it is making him fall deeper into despair. And now Asa will finally help pull him out of it.
I don't think he regressed. Its more like he is trying to distract himself of all the trauma by using sex as an excuse. Its just like similar to when he asks Makima to be her dog so that he doesn't have to think about all the horrible things that happened to him.
If Denji's life is repeatedly getting screwed up, doesn't it make perfect sense for him to come back to his old habits? It's his coping mechanism, his sexual trauma surfacing. And he now displays blatant hatred for that fact. That's a pretty sizeable amount of character development to me considering how repetitive his terrible life has been thus far.

I will be honest and say that i relate to Denji's thought process in this chapter. I have had a hard time processing my own emotions especially around highschool, i was always by myself anxious and depressed without anyone to lean on and listen to. Feeling that i have no reason to stay i looked for a temporary release a way to find peace even for just a short while to feel something else- something better. I got into porn and other sexual content and masturbated my pain and sorrows away. It took me a while to find other ways of coping and all i ever known was pleasure. I hate how much i relate to this bc of how many mistakes ive made in the past due to my lust anr horniness. Ive hurt people around me being the way i am, especially myself. Fujimoto is an amazing author and i just want to give the man a big hug. Im glad to know that im not the only one suffering from this problem. I never thought I'd relate to Denji even more than i ever did.

At the end of 1, Denji wants the more than normal life that ChainsawMan, the hero, can give him. He wants the love and attention that comes from it to fill that love that he didn't have in childhood and the one that always given to and striped from him by Makima. But being someone with trauma he has no idea how to deal with and as a teen, sex is the first thing that comes to mind. While sex can be a conduit for connecting and love, the physical gratification ALONE isn't the answer. And I think he's closer to understanding that. Also, side thought, I'm being reminded of Spider-Man 2 with the way events have played out. Peter wanted to get back to his normal life but his own sense of responsibility and enemies force him back to being Spider-Man but he comes to terms with his dual life. Denji wants to be the "hero" but, so far his biggest obstacle in this part, public safety forced him to have a "normal" life until enemies and his own turmoil with his own identity and desires forced him to become ChainsawMan again and at this point doesn't know how to go on.
Can´t understand why people just don´t get it. Denji knows he has a problem but he keeps losing control despite having priorities in front of him. He is a failure of a person like people are saying, but he is the first one to recognize and admit it.

I feel as if there's a sense of poetic irony to Denji's current state, with him trying everything in his power to make up his mind, to do something with his life, to pick a path he wants to take to obtain peace in his life, has lead back to what gave him temporary peace in the first place, his sexual drive. He hasn't undone character development, but this shows to prove that he's had it; He's pushed his Luck too far with trying to be a Highschooler to live a Normal Life, and now he's reset back to square one, like he's resorting to the methods he used to keep himself happy back in Part 1.

Denji is realizing the depth of how monumentally messed up his entire life has been, even after being “saved” by Makima. He knew it was bad, but now he’s able to take a step back and *really* recognize the trauma he’s gone through. This isn’t “Chainsaw Man is sad”, it’s a kid giving honest and painful self-reflection. It’s a lot more character-focused, compared to the action of the first part.
realizing like chainsaws were originally used in childbirth, Denji killing Makima to bring new life into the world and ending up in a maternal role with her reincarnation. chainsaw cuts down the tree 木(ki) in her name and you end up with mama. To me this chapter seems like its trying to show how a big part of Denji's problem is the coercive masculinity that tries to state itself over his needs and pushed onto him through dehumanization
Part 2 of Chainsaw man is pretty unique for me. From a week by week basis, I can see how the series can see boring at times. I've even had chapters where I didn't think much happened. But looking at it as a whole makes it a whole different story to me. Seeing these characters change has been really interesting for me. I really hope people can start enjoying the slow paced nature of part 2 because I think its building up to be a fantastic story.
I wish all these people would be filtered completely out of the manga/anime community, because the sheer amount of imbeciles in here is starting to get to me. The discourse around season 1 of Mushoku Tensei broke me, I can’t listen to these people anymore.

Bro, this is one of my favorite manga chapters of all times. Not much really happened but at the same time, it just does something for me. I think its the very blunt and unique take on Denji’s character. I really believe his characters pain in this chapter, and it was so easy too because of how he was raised and what we see from him throughout the series. Surviving to live since an infant, not ever being able to truly develop, resulting in him being as primal as he is. It all makes sense to me why he’s so fixated on his primal desires. And the lowkey build up of him genuinely trying to decipher whether or not he’s feeling down because of not having masterbated recently is just nice foreshadowing and a peakinto denji’s thought process. Reading chainsawman baked asf is the best thing I’ve ever done.😂
Im actually a very slow and careful reader so the most chapters i read in one day is 3. There was moments in the story where i was so impacted i couldn't continued the story for weeks scared and soaking up my emotions. I cant read any other way if i tried. Yet i think that flaw i have is infact my greatest asset when it comes to appreciating stories in the first place. The ability and requirement to let the pot bubble and have the flavors soak in. I have never felt such "power"ful moment

It's great that in this chapter, after such a long time, Denji is FINALLY realizing his problem and accepting it as a problem (because of the pathological way he uses 18+ stuff), that's a very important step for his character development, i like where this is going in terms of his development
I think this is a really good message to today's society for young men who's suffering on porn addiction, spending so much money on superchats on their favorite girls streamer or vtuber girl streamer, or young men that gets manipulated by girls and by infatuated love, hyping their hopes up, basically being a massive simp I think this is Denji's arc of finally realizing that and overcoming it and for him to really learn what's truly important to him, also Asa/Yoru probably going to play huge part of Denji's character development as well as her own character development.

I suppose the "community" should have known what kind of shit they're getting into when reading these types of manga and yet they complained when the author cooked the thing that is actually relevant to the manga's progression whether it's the character's depth or many other elements. It's like reading a manga with ecchi tag and particularly suggestive promotional materials and covers expecting to find the characters relatively clothed for the entire 100 chapters. You know what, something just hit me like a ton of bricks. What if it's Kobeni's brother that opens Denji's perspective like Kobeni did in part 1. It also occurred to me that those two are as close to normal as you may realize. Funny how it's the "normal" people that helps with that. Could be just speculation on my part though.

There will always be people misunderstanding Chainsaw Man. It looks like one thing on the surface, but has so much more depth than you'd think. Also another reason some people dislike the anime adaptation I think. They read the manga a certain way and I'm not sure it's the right way.
I don't mind Part 2 but I won't pretend like I don't like part 1 a lot more but I do see the appeal in part 2 and am trusting in the process. That said, I don't know how/if this will ever be animated honestly. Like if its filtering the manga readers as much as it has been, I can't imagine what the drop off for the anime onlys would be.

I see what you mean by “filter” for sure. I’m not an intellectual lol but I can see what Fujimoto’s putting on the table. Chainsaw Man is pretty clearly character-driven, and I love the characters, even if some only have brief appearances. Denji’s transformation, and even the action is really just a figurative way of pushing them forward as well. It’s actually part of why I love Fujimoto’s use of action, being quick, unexplanatory, and a service to the story first, spectacle second (chaotic as it is). Even Denji riding a Shark had some meaning, since he was stingy towards Beam and in this small moment showed that he was willingly relying on him. Well, probably because he saved his life, but still. I think the expectation of “big plot, big fights, and big story” is what makes it hard for some people. For me, it’s like watching Chronicle, but it’s a lot longer and way crazier. And, for all crazy stuff that happens in Chronicle (spoilers), the takeaway is that the protagonist was an abused kid that finally snapped. The telekinesis was just a tool for that, and his relationship with the other leads.
Like Berserk, there's comedic elements or just some dark humor I find funny. It's not a comedy though, and the nuance of the characters need to be carefully observed. It kinda reminds me when I had friends on superficial levels, but not when I really needed a friend.

Chainsaw Man reminds me of Bojack Horseman, a lot of depression and backsliding, but thats the point, denji needs to learn to be human. It just takes a bloody while to be one, you have to backslide a ton more first, and denji is far from being a decent human being. If chapter 167 ends with Denji losing his genitalia it takes the story full circle to how he was in the beginning of chainsaw man ,with Denji having no family, no love, no reason to live, and worst of all no balls.
I will admit that Denji did show some regression this chapter, but to say that’s the only thing that happened and that he’s back to square one couldn’t be farther from the truth. I can’t even imagine part 1 Denji breaking down and reflecting on how his constant sex drive is actually doing more harm than good. Hell, not even part 2 Denji would have done that if not for the most recent events.

I'm not so sure that it shows a regression. He is admitting that his mind is going to sex, but at the same time he also realized that something is messed up about it. It shows that he is finally recognizing that he has some kind of trauma.
Before, he would have dove into it headfirst. He'd have been the one trying to seek out sex. He is finally understanding why he was acting the way he was, and it is making him fall deeper into despair. And now Asa will finally help pull him out of it.
I don't think he regressed. Its more like he is trying to distract himself of all the trauma by using sex as an excuse.
Its just like similar to when he asks Makima to be her dog so that he doesn't have to think about all the horrible things that happened to him.
If anything it's great character development. Denji finally realizes he thinks too much about sex

If Denji's life is repeatedly getting screwed up, doesn't it make perfect sense for him to come back to his old habits? It's his coping mechanism, his sexual trauma surfacing. And he now displays blatant hatred for that fact. That's a pretty sizeable amount of character development to me considering how repetitive his terrible life has been thus far.

I will be honest and say that i relate to Denji's thought process in this chapter. I have had a hard time processing my own emotions especially around highschool, i was always by myself anxious and depressed without anyone to lean on and listen to. Feeling that i have no reason to stay i looked for a temporary release a way to find peace even for just a short while to feel something else- something better. I got into porn and other sexual content and masturbated my pain and sorrows away. It took me a while to find other ways of coping and all i ever known was pleasure.
I hate how much i relate to this bc of how many mistakes ive made in the past due to my lust anr horniness. Ive hurt people around me being the way i am, especially myself.
Fujimoto is an amazing author and i just want to give the man a big hug. Im glad to know that im not the only one suffering from this problem. I never thought I'd relate to Denji even more than i ever did.

At the end of 1, Denji wants the more than normal life that ChainsawMan, the hero, can give him. He wants the love and attention that comes from it to fill that love that he didn't have in childhood and the one that always given to and striped from him by Makima.
But being someone with trauma he has no idea how to deal with and as a teen, sex is the first thing that comes to mind. While sex can be a conduit for connecting and love, the physical gratification ALONE isn't the answer. And I think he's closer to understanding that.
Also, side thought, I'm being reminded of Spider-Man 2 with the way events have played out. Peter wanted to get back to his normal life but his own sense of responsibility and enemies force him back to being Spider-Man but he comes to terms with his dual life. Denji wants to be the "hero" but, so far his biggest obstacle in this part, public safety forced him to have a "normal" life until enemies and his own turmoil with his own identity and desires forced him to become ChainsawMan again and at this point doesn't know how to go on.
Can´t understand why people just don´t get it. Denji knows he has a problem but he keeps losing control despite having priorities in front of him. He is a failure of a person like people are saying, but he is the first one to recognize and admit it.
The thing is that people want him to be a BETTER PERSON

I feel as if there's a sense of poetic irony to Denji's current state, with him trying everything in his power to make up his mind, to do something with his life, to pick a path he wants to take to obtain peace in his life, has lead back to what gave him temporary peace in the first place, his sexual drive. He hasn't undone character development, but this shows to prove that he's had it; He's pushed his Luck too far with trying to be a Highschooler to live a Normal Life, and now he's reset back to square one, like he's resorting to the methods he used to keep himself happy back in Part 1.

Denji is realizing the depth of how monumentally messed up his entire life has been, even after being “saved” by Makima. He knew it was bad, but now he’s able to take a step back and *really* recognize the trauma he’s gone through. This isn’t “Chainsaw Man is sad”, it’s a kid giving honest and painful self-reflection.
It’s a lot more character-focused, compared to the action of the first part.
I was really feeling the frustration of denji but the last panel of her solution made me laugh so much.
I was so taken back that I just decided that I'd understand better when I re-read chainsaw man.
realizing like chainsaws were originally used in childbirth, Denji killing Makima to bring new life into the world and ending up in a maternal role with her reincarnation. chainsaw cuts down the tree 木(ki) in her name and you end up with mama.
To me this chapter seems like its trying to show how a big part of Denji's problem is the coercive masculinity that tries to state itself over his needs and pushed onto him through dehumanization

Part 2 of Chainsaw man is pretty unique for me. From a week by week basis, I can see how the series can see boring at times. I've even had chapters where I didn't think much happened. But looking at it as a whole makes it a whole different story to me. Seeing these characters change has been really interesting for me. I really hope people can start enjoying the slow paced nature of part 2 because I think its building up to be a fantastic story.

Bro, this is one of my favorite manga chapters of all times. Not much really happened but at the same time, it just does something for me. I think its the very blunt and unique take on Denji’s character. I really believe his characters pain in this chapter, and it was so easy too because of how he was raised and what we see from him throughout the series. Surviving to live since an infant, not ever being able to truly develop, resulting in him being as primal as he is. It all makes sense to me why he’s so fixated on his primal desires. And the lowkey build up of him genuinely trying to decipher whether or not he’s feeling down because of not having masterbated recently is just nice foreshadowing and a peakinto denji’s thought process. Reading chainsawman baked asf is the best thing I’ve ever done.😂

Im actually a very slow and careful reader so the most chapters i read in one day is 3. There was moments in the story where i was so impacted i couldn't continued the story for weeks scared and soaking up my emotions. I cant read any other way if i tried. Yet i think that flaw i have is infact my greatest asset when it comes to appreciating stories in the first place. The ability and requirement to let the pot bubble and have the flavors soak in. I have never felt such "power"ful moment

The people dropping this have missed the entire characterisation of Denji. The pacing is fine but people who have only ever read or watched battle shounen don't have the patience for an actual story.
The fandom will be far better if all those people drop it, we can only hope all these people leave the manga community entirely.
Chainsaw Weiner would likely be a pretty strong power. ALSO if she does do that, remember that yoru can only turn into weapons things she considered her own. she'd own his parts.
It's great that in this chapter, after such a long time, Denji is FINALLY realizing his problem and accepting it as a problem (because of the pathological way he uses 18+ stuff), that's a very important step for his character development, i like where this is going in terms of his development
I think this is a really good message to today's society for young men who's suffering on porn addiction, spending so much money on superchats on their favorite girls streamer or vtuber girl streamer, or young men that gets manipulated by girls and by infatuated love, hyping their hopes up, basically being a massive simp I think this is Denji's arc of finally realizing that and overcoming it and for him to really learn what's truly important to him, also Asa/Yoru probably going to play huge part of Denji's character development as well as her own character development.
Honestly, chainsawman has been having incredible build-up with the recent chapters. I believe this newest one will filter out some people who have been wanting to drop the series, but I look forward to what’s comes next. It’s almost giving firepunch vibes
I suppose the "community" should have known what kind of shit they're getting into when reading these types of manga and yet they complained when the author cooked the thing that is actually relevant to the manga's progression whether it's the character's depth or many other elements. It's like reading a manga with ecchi tag and particularly suggestive promotional materials and covers expecting to find the characters relatively clothed for the entire 100 chapters.
I ain't even a Chainsaw-man fan, too "normie" for me but F outta here, you get what you read.

There will always be people misunderstanding Chainsaw Man. It looks like one thing on the surface, but has so much more depth than you'd think. Also another reason some people dislike the anime adaptation I think. They read the manga a certain way and I'm not sure it's the right way.
I don't mind Part 2 but I won't pretend like I don't like part 1 a lot more but I do see the appeal in part 2 and am trusting in the process. That said, I don't know how/if this will ever be animated honestly. Like if its filtering the manga readers as much as it has been, I can't imagine what the drop off for the anime onlys would be.

this is not what makes me dislike the manga atm. I am overall not a fan of part 2 anymore, the plot is just not exciting and leads basicly nowhere with some random ass stuff. I liked the start of part 2 more than what we get now, the last interesting thing was for me when they were in the Aquarium. Chainsaw Man is pretty clearly character-driven, and I love the characters, even if some only have brief appearances. Denji’s transformation, and even the action is really just a figurative way of pushing them forward as well. It’s actually part of why I love Fujimoto’s use of action, being quick, unexplanatory, and a service to the story first, spectacle second (chaotic as it is).
Even Denji riding a Shark had some meaning, since he was stingy towards Beam and in this small moment showed that he was willingly relying on him. Well, probably because he saved his life, but still.
I think the expectation of “big plot, big fights, and big story” is what makes it hard for some people. For me, it’s like watching Chronicle, but it’s a lot longer and way crazier.
And, for all crazy stuff that happens in Chronicle (spoilers), the takeaway is that the protagonist was an abused kid that finally snapped. The telekinesis was just a tool for that, and his relationship with the other leads.

Like Berserk, there's comedic elements or just some dark humor I find funny. It's not a comedy though, and the nuance of the characters need to be carefully observed. It kinda reminds me when I had friends on superficial levels, but not when I really needed a friend.

Chainsaw Man reminds me of Bojack Horseman, a lot of depression and backsliding, but thats the point, denji needs to learn to be human. It just takes a bloody while to be one, you have to backslide a ton more first, and denji is far from being a decent human being. So far, it feels like we are figuratively dissecting denji piece by piece, unlike before where he was literally being mutilated
